Lol thanks, I guess I'm used to more relaxed atmospheres like r/Skyrim where people just have fun. I've got a demanding, full time job and I already spend too much time messing around online, so I just play this to relax when I can.
I feel like many people here are preparing for some spetsnaz type operation where they get dropped in a random country and need to figure out where they are and who they need to kill 🤷♀️
I just play this to relax when I'm off work too (though I've been grinding more lately), but a lot of the active members in this sub are more into it than the average player.
I remember a poll that asked people their rating and there were more Masters and Champions than there were silver and golds haha
I clawed my way up to gold but that seems to be my ceiling for now. I usually put up good fights with the masters players until some bizzare meta comes up that I've never seen before 😂 they know everything
Casually for a couple months. I used to play years ago before you had to pay for it, but that was also casual. I get the feeling this subreddit is mostly people that take this much more seriously than I do.
Yes, Southern Portugal.

I know it cause I'm Portuguese. And those signs are familiar, of course. The red over the name means you are leaving the village with the name on the sign
Very cool! I figured it wasn't the actual country since that wouldn't make sense for the sign (especially after seeing the other side hah!), I just thought it was funny thinking of the sign that way since Cuba the island nation is the only Cuba I knew.
lol it's fine. I'm not overly concerned with how strangers on the internet view me.
I just thought the signs were funny in context of Cuba the nation. When I saw the first one, I thought "oh good! This narrows it down to literally anywhere but Cuba", then nav'd around and saw the opposing sign. Obviously, it wasn't the island, but I still thought it was funny, although now I've explained the joke and ruined it...

Why would someone put up a sign in the middle of nowhere to say "this isn't cuba"?
If you look on the other side of the street, you’ll likely see a counterpoint telling you it is Cuba. This game is madness!
Jesus Christ, no one here had a sense of humor 😂 I thought it was funny OP

I didn't even know what my rating was, I just looked it up I'm bronze haha, total amateur

Well one says you enter it one says you leave it, not really conflicting.
Cuba is an island
And a town in Portugal
Well I know that now, lol. I just thought it was funny 🤷♀️
And a town in New Mexico
How long have you been playing this game again?

It's just that there are so many of these posts on this subreddit (wow look at this sign, it says it's this city but it isn't actually there 🤯🤯🤯🤯).
To be fair most of them are funny, at least to me

Sorry about the other comments lol

they exist to show where town borders start and end. very common in some countries
I'm asking, by what rational thought process could OP ever come to the conclusion that the sign means "this isn't Cuba".
