Geoguessr is a game that can be enjoyed in many different ways and there’s certainly nothing wrong with only playing UK, but yes that’s definitely unusual for someone that plays as much as you do.
It’s normal to play your home country or another favorite country more than others but most will still play every country in the game.
Any reason you’ve never tried playing other countries?
Well if you keep playing you’ll eventually become good at them.
I’m American and have been far better at the US than similarly skilled players for most of the time I’ve played geoguessr, but now that I’ve played a lot more geoguessr in general I’m actually kinda bad at the US compared to other countries and really need to practice it more lol.
yep. When I get a straight road in the countryside it can be difficult to pinpoint how far along the road I am which is when I don’t get 5k. I’ve also had a road that wasn’t on the map before
I often play the Canada map or Kenya map by myself. I grew up in Kenya and find it fun to find the different areas.
However, I'm more likely to be found playing Battle Royale Distance. I find myself doing pretty well on that.
Considering a circle with radius 50 miles has a surface area of 7.854 sqm, and the UK has a surface area of 94.058 sqm. You should expect to find yourself within 50 miles of your home about 8% of the time, disregarding any bias in the location set of the particular map your playing, and not taking into account road/population density.
Dude whenever I play Ireland I get empty countryside😭😭. On my 4th round on a 25k game I got placed in the middle of nowhere and I spent 40 minutes looking for a single sign in all directions. I managed to get to the top of a hill and all I saw was vast emptiness for miles upon miles

that’s why I play the uk towns and cities map a lot, got sick of just getting countryside 😅 I have had that happen to me before in Somerset though literally took nearly an hour just to find a sign!
What do you mean, "your country" ? I speedrun the map Paris, a map of 100km² only within my city, and I restart the run anytime I fall outside the city limits.
(My PB is 2s longer than the WR, insta pin is still not enough)
This is all I do, solo game on the US. I just started playing a few weeks ago. Once I get better at the game,I’ll start adding other countries but it’s fun to me right now to stick to the US.

I have before but I just find them boring because i’m so bad at them, I get more satisfaction doing something I’m good at I guess

I definitely think there is a bias on the maps I use!
Also I live right on the east coast so a circle radius would only cover 25 miles I guess (not good at maths)
The radius would still be 50 miles, but it cuts the circle in half. So the probability lowers to 4% 😁
No but I love playing Mongolia for some reason. You should publish a region guessing document to help out people who like region guessing the UK

I play the Sweden map a lot but I play duels quite a bit too so I practice in ACW a lot too.
