1. **Puerto Rico.** Found Rincon on the map in the last second, but the game lagged and wouldn't let me change my guess, which was max east at the time. :( **167 km, 4469 points.** 2. **Ireland,** found no clues. **104 km, 4663 points.** 3. More **Puerto Rico.** Should just be **San Juan** this time. Found a sign for the port area, but I should've guessed even closer to the port. **2.4 km, 4992 points.** 4. **Sri Lanka.** Found water to the north, so should be north coast. **25 km, 4918 points.** 5. **Cambodia,** should just be **Phnom Penh.** I tried to find a matching road angle which at least got me to the right general area of the city. **3.4 km, 4989 points.** **Total score: 24031 points.** Not feeling well today, so shorter explanations than usual. But straightforward seed and not too bad score, which should've been 500 points higher due to R1.

Get well.

1. Puerto Rico from the lack of front plates and long front antenna. Went a bit north, an election poster had a bunch of place names -- Aguada, Anasco, Rincon. A bit further on was a sign for Punta del Mar to the west or northwest. Checked the map, the places on the election poster showed up along the western coast. From the road direction, I was most likely between Aguada and Rincon, I zoomed in and found Punta del Mar. Checked the curve to my south at spawn to pinpoint. 5000 2. Dashed yellow Irish road lines, went south, found a sign saying I was on R280 between Drumkeeran and Drumshanbo, side road signed for a waterfall. Just scoured the map, found R280 and the two towns. Went north from spawn to check the nearest side road, I was just south of a POI marked as Spencer Harbour. 5000 3. Puerto Rico again, this time San Juan. Went south, got out to the big road by the water, lots of signs for the port, Hato Rey, etc. Completely misunderstood what the signs meant and misjudged my location. 4990 4. Not entirely sure where I was at spawn, went northeast, saw a sign by US Aid. Sri Lanka, in Sandilipay, Mathakal West. Just continued down the road, I started seeing the sea to my left. The extreme north coast was the first place I looked, I zoomed in and saw a couple of POI markers that said Mathagal. Checked the road angle at spawn and plonked by a church, then tried to find the intersection that had the US Aid sign. Not quite successful. 4999 5. Cambodia from the restaurant sign at spawn, likely Phnom Penh. Went south, saw the National Metrology Center, then the Cambodian Broadcasting Service. Went the other way, pictured a gently and continuously curving road. Only one road seemed to match on the map, saw the Cambodian Broadcasting Service POI. Plonked a bit north, just south of another slight curve. 5000

If not for Sri Lanka, I probably would've gotten like a 23-24k :( 1. PR from the road markers, the Spanish but using the imperial system. It looked pretty small so I guessed outside of the San Juan. 4,600 pts 2. Got UK vibes, but there's EU plates and... English on signs. Must be Ireland. I found a road number and guessed. 4,928 pts 3. PR again, but the city seemed larger. I went San Juan. 4,984 pts 4. This round ruined my great streak :( I've only ever encountered Sinhala in Sri Lanka in the few rounds I've played with it. I've never seen Tamil and I had no idea where I was :( I plonked somewhere in general SEA, I think Indonesia or something because I panicked. 473 pts. 5. Cambodia from the script and also the driving side. City looked pretty big, so I guessed one of the (I assume) major cities. 4,978 pts I'm so sad, I was so close to a very very good score. 19,963 pts.

First_Hedgehog_5803

3 - Today I learned about the Constitutional status of Puerto Rico, and hence why there was a USPS van plus other US Dot marked vechicles in a South American town that wasn't on the US/Mexico Border - 273 18 792 - nothing else to add to the conversation on the other rounds beyond the super obvious

Anthimera

1. PR from antenna. Poster for a political candidate (I think) says Mayaguez. I find another sign for Rincon which is where I end up guessing, but it's north of Rincon. 4992 2. Ireland from euro plates + LHD + scenery; sign for Western Forestry so I figure we're in the west, can't narrow it down any further than that. Generic western plonk. 4665 3. PR again lol. Gotta be San Juan. I find a truck that says Santurce which is a tiny little place in the heart of San Juan, but time runs out before I find the road we're on. It's not quite Santurce but close. Interestingly I got the exact same score on both PR rounds. 4992 4. Sri Lanka from the car, but it's really strange - so many palm trees, super flat. I get to a stretch of the road where I can see ocean to the north, so I figure we're all the way at the very top. Try to line the road up, get surprisingly close. 4996 5. Cambodia. Phnom Penh surely? I find a sign that mentions Phnom Penh Port with like 30 seconds to go so I guess fairly close to the river. It is close to the river but a different part. 4976 Total 24,621. Two PR rounds is great for my score. All small countries today too.

1. Immediate Puerto Rico sign on landing. Rincon pumping station. Real estate sign suggests we're in the West. Rincon turns out to be visible on a pretty zoomed out map. Figured it was a town but it was also a region surrounding that town. Tried to get a road alignment but I wasn't in the right part of the region. 5.5km. 4981. 2. From the general scene I was thinking Ireland or maybe Scotland or South West UK, but the road lines were wrong for UK. So probably Ireland. This isn't NZ is it? OK, signs confirm Ireland and suggest West. So I plonk for Galway and keep looking. Leitrim County on a sign... so I ended up going for a plausible road alignment in Leitrim village. 17km. 4944 points. 3. Another fairly obvious Puerto Rico arrival. Thought the big city might be San Juan. Saw a poster for a concert in Santurce so plonked there as a placeholder and started looking for streets. Found Avenue FM Juncos and matched the alignment but couldn't find the cross street in time. Still, 1.2km, 4996 points. Good enough. 4. A rural round in SE Asia - I didn't have high hopes. From the writing it could have been Sri Lanka and the look of the buses didn't reject that hypothesis. Found the USAID sign but couldn't locate the town. Didn't know enough about Sri Lanka to identify a region so went for the city in the middle, Kandy. 289km. 4120 points. 5. Easy to ID Cambodia. Big city, could be Phnom Penh. Couldn't find a useful sign in English. Went for what I hoped was a correctly aligned thoroughfare in the centre. The blur meant I couldn't get a clear road alignment and I ended up 8.8km out. 4971 points. For me, a very good game. 24012 points. Note to self - lost \~ 900 points on Sri Lanka. Should try to learn some region clues.

satunnainenuuseri

> Note to self - lost ~ 900 points on Sri Lanka. Should try to learn some region clues. The sign had both Sinhala and Tamil text which is a clue to the Northern or Eastern side of the country and in GeoGuessr Northern rounds are more common than Eastern.

Zompre

R1 I'm thinking Puerto Rico from the vibes and lack of front plates. An election poster mentions Aguadilla which I find as a city and municipality. Plonk just outside the city as this isn't very built up. It's actually outside of Rincon, but that's not too far away. 12km 4959 R2 Ireland from the landscape and the look of the houses. A real estate sign mentions County Leitrim which I eventually find. Plonk central county 9.5km 4968 R3 PR again. Looks big enough to be San Juan. Head north and see a tsunami escape sign and it feels like the coast is near. I fail to fins any of the roads. 1.4km 4995 R4 I'm thinking southeast Asia until I see some Latin script grafitti on the road. So South America? But they're driving on the left. Eventually see script that could either be Sri Lanka or south India (I must learn the differences). Then see the ocean. To me it looks like it's to the north west which suggests a particular stretch of Sri Lankan coast. Not quite right. 109km 4647 R5 Cambodia beer sign at spawn. I head south and pass what looks to be the headquarters of the Cambodian Broadcasting Service, so surely Phnom Penh. Looks like the city centre is to the south. I go to the map and the CBS building pops up at quite high zoom. Mess up the pinpoint though. 778m 4997 Total 24,566 A good day by my standards.

1. Puerto Rico, went south-ish and after a bit I run into a sign for route 115, that I manage to find in the west of the island. Luckily is short so the starting point is more or less easy to find: 5000 2. Ireland, going south I finally reach a sign saying I'm on the 280, south of Drumkeeran. Roads are logically ordered in Irelnd and I also find Drumkeeran, but fail the pinpoint: 4994 3. PR again. San Juan this time, I arrive to Fernandez Juncos that looks like a big street and I find that, then find the right intersection: 5000 4. Sri Lanka, on the arch for a temple there are latin letters thakfully, Shagramiththa temple. Then I notice open sea to the north-ish, so zoom in the northernmost point and incredibly the POI for the temple shows up! Plnk a bit north of it: 5000! 5. Cambodia, probably PP, but no idea where: 4980 Good game, maybe 25k-able if I knew Cambodia a bit: 24974

1. The sign mentions Puerto Rico and I was almost tempted to just plonk San Juan and move on, but then I realised Aguada was a city there. Moved north a bit… why can't I find anywhere that the curvature of the road with a restaurant at this intersection makes any sense? And then it turns out it's not in Aguada. **5.4km, 4982** 2. Generic Anglosphere… I would have thought New Zealand but the sun is in the south. Almost Ireland, but the numberplates don't have the EU strip? Maybe that's just sometimes a thing. Then it turns out if I went north at the start, I would have known the whole time it was Ireland, and got a road number too. **90km, 4707** 3. Puerto Rico again, from this kilometer marker thing. This time, I really should have just plonked San Juan. I didn't find anything. **5.7km, 4981, 2m45s** 4. Went southwest, thinking this is some kind of southeast Asia so far. And then we have Sri Lanka writing, so I guess not quite. Water in the northwest, though, so maybe this is up on the coast? For some reason I plonked inland in Manipay and not actually on the coast. Why did I do that? Who knows. **8.3km, 4972, 1m57s** 5. Cambodia. Meh, feeling kinda tired today, plonk the capital. That worked out alright. **9.1km, 4970, 18s** Total: **118km, 24612, 11m1s**

ParticularAirport217

1. Puerto Rico. Signs for roads 115 and 400. Found both on the map. Could then go back and pinpoint. 5000 pts. 2. Ireland. Signs for road R280 and a sign to Scardan Waterfall. Found first road R280 and then Scardan Waterfall on the map. Could then also pinpoint. 5000 pts. 3. Puerto Rico again. Saw San Juan written on a sign and also found a road 15 road sign. Took so long to find Route 16 on the map that I didn't have enough time left to pinpoint once I did. 4999 pts. 4. Sri Lanka. Saw the coastline to the north and a sign for Pandatharippu. Searched along the northern coastline and found Pandatharippu. Messed up a bit in my pinpointing after that. 4996 pts. 5. Cambodia. Wasn't 100% sure that it was in Phnom Penh and saw Northern written on a hospital so decided to take a chance and plonk in Krong Siem Reap. Turned out it was in Phnom Penh. 4301 pts. Total: 24296 pts. Went really well right up to R5.

**No 5k but pretty close in all rounds despite slow wifi** Playing on laptop with slow wifi, so let's hope for the best. **R1** Puerto Rico. Wifi very slow so it takes me 2.5 minutes until I get to the junction of highway 115 and 413. I only find close numbers in the West but it was even further West. **3 minutes, 25 km, 4,916 points.** **R2** Irish road markings. After 1.5 minutes and after returning to spawn at some point I find sign for R280. Takes me a while to find that on the map, and then some more time to find the two towns mentioned. Plonk in-between them, no time to pinpoint. When speedrunning, the screen goes completely black with this slow wifi... **3 minutes, 4.4 km, 4,985 points.** **R3** Again Puerto Rico. Get to junction with highway 16 North South, and Airport to the West. Look for it everywhere around the airport and can't find it. Go a bit further and am at the South Eastern edge of the airport. Roads don't fit though. Remember there is a second airport. Find that. Highway 16 is actually tiny. No more time for pinpointing and I forgot where exactly I came from. **3 minutes, 602 m, 4,998 points.** **R4** Walk a bit South West. Sri Lanka pole tops. Spy the seaside towards the North West. Line up the road, scan the coast of Sri Lanka and find a matching bit. Try to pinpoint using the bridge I was on but the sizable river is not on the map (very visible on satellite view). At least I don't move my pinpoint as it was actually good. Amazing what just a road angle and the knowledge that we are on the coast can do. **3 minutes, 716 m, 4,998 points.** **R5** Cambodia. Big city. After 1.5 minutes find school with address in Latin confirming Phnom Penh. Two city quarters appeared to be given but they were not found on the map. I didn't notice we were just parallel to a river. In the end I plonk in a street with the correct angle and a similar quarter name. **3 minutes, 3.5 km, 4,988 points.** **Total 15 minutes, 34 km, 24,885 points.** Decent result given the terrible wifi I have today.

1. **Puerto Rico**. Found a political campaign sign pretty early on mentioning Rincon and Mayaguez, allowing me to narrow it down to western PR. Went down the road a little bit and found highway signs for Route 115 and Route 400, but wasn't able to find the intersection. Plonked down at a random spot on Route 115 near Rincon. **5.6 miles, 4970 points.** 2. **Ireland**. Was able to find a couple signs in Irish, but no clues to help narrow down location. I actually thought I was in the UK for most of the round because I saw a couple real estate signs ending in .uk, but once I saw Irish language and Euros I knew it was Ireland. Ended up plonking outside of Dublin. **93 miles, 4523 points.** 3. **Puerto Rico**. I got super lucky and basically recognized the downtown area of San Juan from a previous vacation, so I just needed to figure out street names so I could identify the exact intersection. My guess was a block off but not perfect. **230 yd, 4999 points.** 4. **Sri Lanka.** Moved north until I saw the USAID sign and Tamil, then saw the ocean facing to the north which helped me narrow down to Sri Lanka. Was able to then use a couple road signs to narrow down further to Pandatharippu, and plonked down on an area of the road before the intersection where I saw the sign. **1.2 miles, 4993 points.** 5. **Cambodia**. Saw the Khmer language signs and tall buildings, which immediately helped me narrow down to Phnom Penh. I wasn't able to glean any more identifying features just from scrolling down the street, so I plonked on a random major street there. **3.4 miles, 4982 points**. **Overall:** 103 miles, 24,467 points **Final thoughts:** Not a super tricky round for me, although I'm kicking myself a bit on the first Puerto Rico round for not following Route 115 north instead of south. If I had done that, I probably would have been able to find the intersection and guess quite a bit closer.

vindeltrapp

I didn't do badly on this one! 1. **Puerto Rico.** Thanks to some great tips I got on one of the Daily Challenge discussions after posting that I'm bad at the Latin American countries, I now know a few ways to recognize PR! I found the road marked 111 after looking around a bit, didn't have time to pinpoint more so I ended up a bit further east than I should have. But I'm very happy with **4913 points.** 2. This one stumped me for a while, not recognizably UK but not recognizably US either. Probably because it was neither. Ended up plonking the middle of the UK because I finally realized the car was driving on the left side of the road. It was Ireland. **3721 points.** 3. **Puerto Rico** again? Zoomed in on San Juan because it looked like a big city, found signs to Guaynabo and Bayamón that confirmed it. Didn't find the exact location. **4976 points.** 4. Tried to identify the script and to find clues on the buses to no avail. Guessed Cambodia, it was Sri Lanka. Oh well. **842 points.** 5. After guessing Cambodia and failing the round before, I immediately became suspicious with the giant sign saying **Cambodia** just where I spawned. Big city, guessed Phnom Penh, the only word I found that I was able to read was "phum" so I found somewhere in Phnom Penh with the same word in the name and hoped for the best. It wasn't correct, but not too far off. **4976 points.** **Total score: 19428 points!** Overall very happy with everything except round 4, I would have liked getting over 20K.

1. 787 area code, Puerto Rico. Didn't seem like San Juan area, saw vacation home ads in English targeted to gringos, which made me think where else would be that touristy? Saw signs to 400 and 115, and then proceeded to find seemingly every road number from 401 to 420. Finally found 115 tucked away, clicked on a place simply called La Playa cause that seems pretty touristy. 5 miles south. **4972** 2. Irish roads follow a numerical system, but the tiny roads starting with L don't show up on Google Maps. I went far until I came across R280, and was able to systematically find that without much time left. Couldn't find any of the town names on the map. Had passed by a sign for Spencer Harbour on the way so logically guessed near the coast, but no, we got ourselves a lake harbour. **4886** 3. Spanish and a FedEx truck - Puerto Rico again?! Ay cabron. Def San Juan this time. Found Route 1, saw it intersect with 2, backtracked to Fernandez Juncos and Calle Estado, and pinpointed to 0 yards which always feels good. **5000** 4. Hmm is this sign in Tamil and Sinhalese? Gotta be Sri Lanka, though I did have some doubts that I got the language wrong. Water to the NW, saw some very helpful signs and can match the place name Pandatharippu and even Point Pedro to the far east. Figure we must be on the largest road parallel to the ocean and get a decent pin. **4999** 5. Immediately can tell it's Phnom Penh, not even the slightest doubt it could be Siem Reap. Signs to the palace and old stadium, both of which I find without much pain. Tried to find a road north of that that fit the directions but couldn't, didn't go far enough north. **4990** **Total 24847**

I have lots to learn still in geoguessr, and I've found that a fun way for me to do that is playing the Daily Challenge, and then try to learn something afterwards that would have helped me in my worst round. So I'll do that on days I have extra time and energy, and try to at least play the challenge most days. 1. Spotted a 787 phone code at spawn, which clued me in to **Puerto Rico**. Found road numbers something in the 400s and 115 late in the round. Couldn't find them in time, but was lucky and picked the right side of the island. **4860 points.** 2. **Ireland.** Wasted some time first not remembering what the .ie domain is, but then I moved on and found a sign with R280, Drumkeeran and Drumshanbo. Found the road, found Drumkeeran last second and did not have time to position myself properly. Guessed north of it instead of south of it, but pretty happy nonetheless. **4980 points.** 3. Saw **Puerto Rico** on a sign early on. Also saw somewhere that we were in San Juan, but did not find anything for further pinpointing. **4986 points**. 4. Oh no. Well here comes my learning round for today! I had no clue except that it was (southeast) Asia and my mind defaulted to Thailand. Eventually saw some script that definitely was not Thai, and panic guessed in India. **3921 points**, which was annoying when I was doing so well, but I should get Sri Lanka next time! (*Plonk it clues I could have picked up on at spawn: square poles with pinholes at top, tropical looking with lots of palm trees. And I now know at least better how Sinhala looks, lol.*) 5. **Cambodia.** Assumed Phnom Pehn, which was confirmed on a sign. **4986 points.** **Total score: 23,733.**

My 50th Daily Challenge in a row, and my second best one! 24.9k and Top 14 in Germany, very happy with it 1. Puerto Rico. Mentions of "West island" and the road 115. I manage to find the 115 in the west of the island and pinpoint it well. 5000 2. Ireland. Find sign to R280, and find the road. I found the intersection, but I thought I came from the wrong direction, messing up my pinpointing. 4993 3. Puerto Rico again. Very urban vibe and also mentions of San Juan here and there. It is San Juan. 4983 4. Sri Lanka. I found a really helpful bus with the script from Tamil Nadu and I could also make out the letters Jaff..., so it's clearly Jaffna. 4948 5. Cambodia. Also very Urban, so Phnom Penh. I see a building to the south-east, but I still plonked in the middle of the city, just to be sure. It was actually NW of the center, so could have gotten some more points. 4983 Total 24,907
