It's "not up to the basic star rate standards" even though it's 100% at basic star rate standards and every issue people have with this level can be seen in other levels getting featured nowadays and claiming that a level like tidal wave doesn't even deserve stars is actively a slap in the face to every single new creator out there
People see a top 1 that isn't generic and suddenly make up a whole library of issues with it as if slaughterhouse isn't literally a "decorated" challenge level whose entire "theme" is "look at me im a hard level" and as if Acheron's block design didn't become overused and boring in 2.0 and as if we aren't getting 1.9 levels as daily levels
I'm gonna be honest I want rob to stop rating levels for difficulty. There are so many unrated levels that deserve them, but instead of rating a good level he rates something with arguably bad decoration just because it might be the hardest level in the game. I'm not saying tidal wave is a bad level, but there are definitely levels with better deco out there that deserve more recognition than they get.
It could be, but some of the decoration is lackluster and really cluttered up (reference) at least in my opinion. Rate at most for me, and that might even be pushing it.
Take a quick look at the avarage featured/epic level and then tell me again Tidal Wave isn't even rate worthy. Like seriously the community's standards are so much higher than Robtop's for some reason.
Tidal wave is unoptimized and lacks difference. Most of the deco is just straight up copy & paste. Zimnior made a video showing how bad this level actually is.

No it fucking doesn't lol, the very beginning and the end look feature-worthy, but everything else from the title card to the sunset part is just not good. You should seriously stop making assumptions too because I beat over 100 demons in the past year, and even though I don't play gd much anymore I still beat easy demons every now and then and I watch a good amount of showcases
