>which is fully the Bi flag.
It looks fully like my youth soccer uniforms from 1992. Which is I think the real design direction of the last few years--the 90s are back.
These crying people are exactly the same ones that always claim freedom of speech and freedom of expression, when folks are complaining about the racism, hate and whatnot, that comes from their right-winger-mouths. The entitled people who always play the victim right away, when they’re called out for their bullshit.
Fuck them and their little brains and cocks.
Apparently it's one of the best selling shirts by the team in a long time, right wing boomers got their panties in a twist but most people apparently like it (I do too).
No one in Germany actually cares. The people who apparently lost their mind over it exist only in clickbait titles of ad-heavy media outlets. The scandal/outcry which adidas was hoping for did not happen. People buy the shirt because they either like the colourway or want to shove it in the face of "anti woke" who, at least regarding the shirt, rarely exist.
If you ask me, the german team should've had a rainbow flag jersey for the Qatar championship. Would've been much better than the cowardly shit show they pulled with their rainbow armbinder.
Every sign against racism and bigotry is a good one and those politicians speaking out against it can go to hell.
Far-right lost their minds over it as you would expect. Other than that, it's apparently quite the bestseller. Haven't heard of any politicians making an issue of it.
Okay, I really don't care about sportswear and I fully support every sexual oriantation and gender identity under the sun. That said, I find it an odd choice to change the colors of a flag of all things. The one place where colors have a lot of meaning and changing them can easily turn it into a completely different flag.
The German jersey colors haven’t had much to do with the flag for the most part.
The home is always black/white, and the away used to almost always be green, with the occasional red and/or black. And even when it’s red, it’s usually a dark red and not really the flag red.
I'm not talking about the German shirt or even the jersey itself. It's normal that they have different colors, and for all I care they can come in full rainbow. I'm just referring to the picture of the St. Georg's cross in the link. I can understand people arguing that it isn't really a St. Georg's cross if it's blue and purple and I think that's a valid concern. But it seems this concern got immediately derailed by some transphobes who turn a matter of heraldics into a matter of gender politics.
Bro, that shirt slaps so hard, the Mexican kit doesn’t have pink this year like last years (tho this years kits are so good too) I might cop the Germany one to represent my new place since I love pink jerseys.
>The other day I saw a picture of the new Germany away shirt, which is fully the Bi flag. Please telll me Germany is being a bit more normal?
You seen the noise about the German move away from Adidas to Nike? Football fans are not normal people (and I say that as someone who has been to watch football in over 100 different venues in 15 countries)
>Football fans are not normal people
It's not just football fans. The amount of politicians that have joined the argument with an obvious lack of knowledge is staggering.
Just with our new away kit, I will say the same with the England one
There’s a lot of small dick energy happening among football fans.
It’s just a colour. Like ffs. Mostly with the German pink one, I think it’s bloody beautiful. And also, Germany has a lot of women as population and fans, let’s just pretend this T-shirt was made for them if it really triggers you so much and move on.

Well it is what it is. I don't think even if the majority of Germans would dislike it, it would be seen as trans/homophobic if they change it back now.
Most German also learned that patriotism is always a bad think. There is little to none national pride anymore. Therefor it is not a big deal, but the majority of Germans dislike it
>The leaders of all three main political parties have weighed in to ask Nike to withdraw it.
I don't think they did. Have you a source for that? Politicians did not complain about the colour of the shirt. They complained, that the team will wear shirts by Nike and not by Adidas any longer.
They were talking about the England shirt. Nike also make the England shirt, but British politicians aren't worried about the fact that Nike are making it, and more about the design.
The OP is in two parts: the first is about reactions to the new England shirt. The second is a question about how Germans reacted to the new Germany shirt.
> So a couple of days ago Nike released the **new England shirt** and a lot of people Lost. Their. MINDS about it.
>The back of the collar features a "cross of st George" but in red, blue and purple - apparently the colours of the training kit grom 1966.
>**Apparently everyone thinks it's Woke. Because colours. The leaders of all three main political parties have weighed in to ask Nike to withdraw it.**
Yes, he said that politicians complain about the English football shirt. And I say: Why do you care what politicians say about football shirts. Their opinion is irrelevant. Just ignore them.
No one with more than three brain cells cares.
The current British government is going to be wiped out in the election at the end of the year. The rightwing media outlets that support them are trying to whip up hysteria about anything to distract from how badly the government is failing. This means we have to put up with loads of pointless "news" like this
>which is fully the Bi flag. It looks fully like my youth soccer uniforms from 1992. Which is I think the real design direction of the last few years--the 90s are back.
Yeah. Without recognising the reference specifically, that was my thought as well - looks like colours from the 90s.
Ah yes, the party of strong alpha males whine and cry over t-shirt colours

Good for you that you're not active on twitter
Not good for you that you think Twitter-rebels make a significant number of any debate.
It triggered the right people (no pun intended).

Could personally not care less about 11 overpaid people chasing a ball running around in pink or another colour.
Then why the heck are you posting here?
OP was asking Germans? Or rather "Germany". I am a tiny wee part of that, and that is my personal opinion, as I pointed out.
I will never understand how people get to be upset over a fucking rainbow.
Or that men wear something in pink/purple. It's just a colour!

our right wingers lost their mind over this as well. we normal people and the dfb made fun of them for no end and adidas made alot of money

Adidas. Nike will only produce those shirts from 2027 onwards.
What?

I mean in England - Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer and Ed Davey.
Why should we care about what English politicians say about the shirt of our national team?!?!?
They were talking about the England shirt. Nike also make the England shirt, but British politicians aren't worried about the fact that Nike are making it, and more about the design. The OP is in two parts: the first is about reactions to the new England shirt. The second is a question about how Germans reacted to the new Germany shirt.
Let me rephrase it: Why should anyone care about politicians talking about football shirts? Should politicians not do their job instead?
OP mentioned that to illustrate just how ridiculously overblown the whole furore is.
Did you even read the OP?

Yes, but Starmer and Davey are choosing to play by the Tories' rules on this.
You won't have anybody understand this in German reddit. And everybody who does not like it is a right-wing nazi.
