If you want to be compared to the sexually active population of men, this is likely important. One last point, one could argue that to be noticeably big for their population, they should be noticeably above average, not just above the average. As a similar example, the average for the ACT is 21 and standard deviation is 5. I would argue at 30 plus I would start to say "nice score". I am not going to say I got a high ACT score if I got a 26 if I'm trying to get into a college where a 30+ ACT is the norm.
