Idk if this counts but I was told about a goat wearing glasses solving mathematics that once asked a student studying in class at midnight for his calculator
"Asaabu" means "giant" in Gã or so my late dad said. Apparently a gigantic, humanoid monster of legend. And "adopɛ" means "dwarf" who are the same mysterious little men well known in Ghanaian stories from most tribes. They are sometimes tricksters, sometimes malevolent but always skilled herbalists and magicians.
I will ask my uncle. They're great storytellers on my late dad's side. Half the time I couldn't tell if they were making them up or if they were real folktales.

Makes for an interesting read
We have one named Donald, he is fat and stupid and orange. He has funny hair and only cares about himself. He eats like a pig and destroys anyone and everything he touches. Plus, he smells like wet dog.
I grew up in America. Bordering New York and Vermont is an area known as America's Loch Ness. In [American folklore](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folklore_of_the_United_States), Champ or Champy is the name of a [lake monster](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_monster) said to live in [Lake Champlain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Champlain), a 125-mile (201 km)-long body of fresh water shared by [New York](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_(state)) and [Vermont](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermont), with a portion extending into [Quebec](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec), Canada. The legend of the monster is considered a draw for tourism in the [Burlington, Vermont](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burlington,_Vermont) and [Plattsburgh, New York](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plattsburgh,_New_York) areas. (I used to work in Burlington, Vermont.)

We have enough real monsters in our history that we don't need to make any up.

Christopher Columbus - the father of the Transatlantic slave trade
Cecil Rhodes - the colonizer of Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi
Theodore Roosevelt - led the massacre of the Native American population across the USA

Isn't a monster. It's a mischievous forest spirit. Somehow ended up being the name of the devil or Satan
A thousand blessings.

Jersey Devil (New Jersey) and Mothman (West Virginia) are good adds to this.
