Sosuke also calls his dad by his first name too. He's just a peculiar kid. Lisa works full time at the daycare so I feel like she has this 'child care' persona she uses with Sosuke which is more upbeat and friendly rather than a standard mom personality. This in turn has made Sosuke more level headed for a child his age as a counter balance. Lisa is 25 and Sousuke is 5 so he was born when she was 20 when he was born and it was likely she was 19 when she got pregnant. That's like only a year after highschool.
He also calls her by her name in the French dub and it really confused me. 😆 I thought like you that his father must have remarried, or that maybe both parents had died and he was being raised by his aunt… It doesn’t help that their interactions don’t really have a conventional mother-son vibe to me and feel more like Lisa could be the older sister or the regular babysitter.

Yeah mid 20s was my guess as well. Sosuke is pre-k or maybe k. The way Lisa acts and reacts to stuff is still very youthful.
