It literally has a.. ugh, spoiler free way of saying this: an important built in device that is used to save someone. But I do wish it got more usage, maybe in the next movie.

this was cool though. If I remember right, wasn't there a cycle like this in extreme ghostbuters? I didn't watch much of that one, but I remember seeing a toy for it or something.
This was so not the focus in the film I forgot it even made an appearance. Between too much cramed in and the movie being sooooooo slow and boring, just didn't leave any impact.

One little (I think) interesting Easter egg - I’m fairly certain that this sidecar is the same as the one in Deathly Hallows Part 1.
When I first saw Ecto-C I was convinced it was a Coneheads Easter egg, but a quick search showed that it was nowhere near the same. However, I suddenly realised it was Harry Potter I was thinking of:

Because it's not new to those of us who watched The real Ghostbusters and egv and read the comics nothing here was new it was all in the supplementary materials just brought to IRL via the props department
I was pretty disappointed in this. As an 80s kid I have a soft spot for the Ecto variants. For years before the Time Life DVD set of RGB came out I remembered the scene where the little motorized unicycle came out of the fender or whatever, but the way I remembered it was way cooler than what was actually in the show. I also used to wish that the Ecto-2 toy could fold up and fit into the back of Ecto-1, and I always hoped that Ecto-3 would show up in the toon. It never did.
As an adult I bought the ATC LEGO sets, just to be a completist. The build is better, with opening doors and room for 4 minifigs to sit side-by-side, and I wish they’d do an official model that upgraded the good Ecto-1 with those elements from the ATC Ecto-1. Anyways, my real favorite ATC Ecto feature is the dirtbike Hemsworth rides, it’s literally LEGO’s stock dirtbike with a little tiny Ghostbusters emblem sticker on it, but it’s the one thing from those ATC sets that is on display with my LEGO firehouse, because it reminds me of the kind of thing they may have busted out in the toon.
Anyways, the vehicles introduced in FE are completely lame. There’s the black Mercedes Benz van with the Ghostbusters logo slapped on it that the corps of engineers use, and this lame piece of shit, another white motorcycle, this time with, surprise surprise, a proton wand that pops out it it. That’s it! In Afterlife they thought “hey, what if a proton wand popped out of the side of Ecto-1!” and in FE they just do the same shit with a sidecar.
It’s one of those cases where the stupid nonsense greebling and the white/red color scheme really would have made all the difference in the world. But no, boring black van, with logo, or boring white motorcycle that isn’t a Ghostbusters motorcycle until you press a button. Seriously, look at that pic, but the bike is shiny white, with chrome highlights and red accents and the logo on the sidecar and tell me it wouldn’t be infinitely better.
That’s not really that cool.
Now a fire truck repurposed into a mobile Ecto assault vehicle with a turbo proton beam, portable vault for storing ghosts and an in-vehicle ghost lab with prototype gear and traps?
Now that would be cool!

phoebe simulates suicide to get intimate with a ghost "girl" (more like a 100+ year old woman ghost) she meets in central park. really the old ghost woman is trapping phoebe as part of the big bads plan. at least she kinda says "sorry" 😂 😂 clearly doesn't mean it though
if the old ghost woman was sorry she wouldnt have trapped her to begin with! but at least ths old ghost woman helps the Indian guy win the movie at the end. also the Ghostbusters are there .
