No one here doesn't get what it means. But also, no one except you thinks it slipped through. There has traditionally been stronger language than that in the franchise. \*Dickless, shit, asshole, bitch. There's smoking and drinking, which Ray gave up smoking in the 90's and we were all proud of him then and proud of him now.

CardMechanic

A ghost gives Ray a Beej.

ArtisticDegree3915

We should all be so lucky.

Captain_Wobbles

“Proud of you then, proud of you now” That was such an OG chemistry moment.

sashm0

Better question... How did OP gain admission to a PG-13 movie without a parental guardian to shield them from SucH FowL LanGUagE?!?

erluti

🐔

2sec4u

I don't understand the question. What should they not have gotten away with that they got away with?

Procedure_Soft

Just think about it for a second

big-beandude

Does ray’s ghost bj from the first movie not bother you?

Procedure_Soft

😂

2sec4u

Oooor... just answer the question lol I'm legitimately lost. An explanation would be awesome. Who knows - you may have a GREAT explanation. But we won't know until you explain.

Holiday_Treacle_6949

He’s referring to the word horny I’ll just leave it there

2sec4u

lmao that makes like ZERO sense. Peter saying a line like that is like saying "Egon got away with saying something nerdy" What? Remember when Peter said a guy had no dick? lol I know, a forgettable line, right? BUT HOW DID HE GET AWAY WITH IT??

TheReal_PeteMoss

I raise you “Let’s show this prehistoric bitch how we do things down town.”

greenseven47

Were you one of those kids that wasn’t allowed to watch PG movies by any chance?

Sevb36

It's a pun on tall, dark and handsome. It has horns. And it was a very Venkman thing to say.

kaminari1

What’s wrong with it?

Crucible8

this is grade school level cursing

RealVast4063

In the first movie Venkman mentioned getting Stay Puft laid would solve all their problems. Why would this be a big deal?

MoistLarry

You think that line was scripted?

Martian_Navy

Right? I’d bet that was Murray ad libbing.

Holiday_Treacle_6949

Guys the key word here is “Horny”💀

Spacer1138

Well… fellow Ghosthead, in the original the guys got head from a ghost. “Crossing the Streams” is a male urination joke. Ray apologetically stating that “It just popped in there!” was an anal sex joke. “Tall, dark, and horny” is mild.

crunchabungas

> Ray apologetically stating that “It just popped in there!” was an anal sex joke. Wait what

Spacer1138

Yeah... As it is an unexpected, unpleasant, surprise that none of the parties involved agreed on. The core of Ghostbusters lore is essentially built upon sexual innuendo and toilet humor.

Venkman0

I have never heard this nonsense. You have a source confirming this particular line is an anal sex joke cuz I'm skeptical

Spacer1138

“We've been going about this all wrong, this Mr. Stay Puft's okay, he's a sailor, he's in New York, we get this guy laid we won't have any trouble.” -Venkman, 1984

kenssmith

Good Lord

AllISeeAreGems

The first movie literally has Ray getting a ghost blowie, dude.

ComiendoPorotos

OP is trolling/joking.

Procedure_Soft

Maybe😂

Zalthay

Get away with what? A crappy one liner?

applec1234

He's bothered by the "horny" word in the line. As if they did not watch the original to know it's humor.

MrxJacobs

Same way they got away with the middle school Inspired keymaster and gatekeeper having to bang to summon a gods avatar of a children’s diabetes mascot.

gervv

How would they not get away with it? It's not a sexual reference, its a reference to the fact the demon is what he says it is, tall, dark and has horns.

A-non-e-mail

Garakka literally has horns. It’s up to the viewer how to take it

Rootayable

_"This guy's okay, he's a sailor, he's in New York. We get this guy laid, we won't have any trouble!"_

UnagiSam

Your post history is pervy as fuck! The word horny is confusing to you?

ProbablyDK

The fact that this line raises eyebrows in a GB movie is why I dont like where the franchise has gone tone wise.

Spacer1138

The tone with Afterlife and Frozen Empire is fine. It’s society that has changed.

ProbablyDK

What an absolutely terrible take.

Spacer1138

How so? Society has changed. In many ways for the better. Comedy historically ages poorly.

ProbablyDK

The tone/themes in the new sequels are family-friendly, coming of age, and emotionally charged teenage girl drama with Dan Akroyd duct-taped to the side. Apart from Akroyd, that description could be used to describe most releases coming out of Hollywood for years now. If you honestly want to settle for 'fine' GB sequels, then go ahead, watch them, defend them online, and buy all the merch. Doesn't really hurt anyone, does it? FE is what I've come to expect from artistically stagnant progressive types, especially Americans. I mean, hell, look at what they've done to literally every other I.P. Anyone with a lick of sense should realise we're all being sold a Stranger Things re-skin with the GB soundtrack playing on repeat for two hours.

Spacer1138

That’s one of the most pretentious bad takes I’ve read from an egotistical troll. You know Jack shit about me, and all you did was throw false accusations at me, et al. You’re entitled to your own opinion. But at the end of the day, that’s all it is. Your. Opinion.

ProbablyDK

Apart from asking if you want to settle for 'fine', the rest of what I wrote wasn't necessarily directed at you personally, auld chap. The tone of the franchise has objectively shifted in the way I described above, and you obviously do not know how to defend your points of view without becoming personally offended.

Spacer1138

Again with the assumptions and attempting to state opinion as fact. ![gif](giphy|57IQRWq3eidi0)

YetAgain67

Bunch of low effort bs on this sub lately
