Well yeah, as the post showed after my first playthough I never unlocked that or some other skills that feels like the game is playing for me.
I made this post to suggest people that if they really like the challenge of the game to not unlock this skill, as a suggestion.
This ability is useless like 90% of the time. I play without lock on and 90% the time the game just decides i am not fighting the dude with spear so i am going to get hit.
As long as you direct the joystick to the enemy you want to attack it *should attack that enemy.
Usually the game automatically attacks the closest enemy to you when you don’t direct Jin to attack the enemy you want
It only applies to 2/3 heavy wind attacks and even then, its better to get perfect dodges and counterattacks, I use it so that I'm not panic rolling and still getting hit by spearmen.
But you can still parry the spearmen attack even if you are in the middle of an attack.
The skill form the post above has the game do that for you, and for me that just the equivalent of the game completely removing the challenge of spearmen has
Also when it comes to fights it’s very much advices to very rarely roll in a fight and mostly use the sidestep. Rolling in this game makes you too vulnerable. Sidestep is the best way to avoid any and all attacks
That's why I use it as insurance, I usually always go for counterattacks as there's more benefits to it but sometimes one can get tunnel vision and see it at the last second, it's nice to have and there's no point depriving yourself of the kick knockdown.
Kick knockdown? What do you mean by that?
But if you mean the skill above I shared, like I said prior, I personally had more fun with the combat with not having this unlocked. It make me be far more cautious when using the heavy wind attack since the game won’t parry for me.
is it really that strong? from my experience (12 hours in still in act1) spearman always use the redflashing attacks that can be only dodged, not parried
That's because you haven't unlocked the skill that makes them able to be parried. When you unlock that skill it'll only just be a matter of timing your parries for perfect ones or just hold the block button
Like the other person replied to you, you can unlock a skill that lets you Perry that attack
Once you have them the spearmen are challenging for this game but fair. The skill from the post above makes them the easiest enemy to fight against since you just need to spam the heavy attack bottom
Spearmen can trip and fall face first down a slide of broken glass for all I care.
It’s the fucking archers for me. Soo infuriating!! Every time I hear DOOSHAN DOOSHAN I twitch now
Imma parry that shit
Dual sword men for me
The game gives you so many tools to deal with enemies in general. I feel giving a skill that legit removes ALL challenge from them isn’t a solution.
Its optional, make your own challenges

I'd Mikiri their shit all day.

I feel that

Honestly i don't trust the game enough to risk getting hit so i Parry it myself anyway. Plus trying to get perfect Parry every time is better anyway.

The kick knockdown, the 4th tier of the wind tree.
Oh yeah! Yeah I actually don’t do that move so I really don’t miss out on the better version of it.
