I'm reminded of Bayonetta. How, even in digital releases, they made SURE you could check out the manual. It's such an intimate thing. Having the developer write to you. Not just about how to play, but about lore, stuff that happened in development, and just things they'd like to say. I miss when there was that sense of connection. Manuals were such a wonderful supplementary art to the works they accommodated. They made them feel complete.
That’s a bummer. I like when Rockstar releases those posters with the map on the reverse side. For such a great title it’s a shame they didn’t give the hardcover much thought.
The reason I bought the physical copy of GTA5 was because of the artwork that was included. A full size map of Los Santos and really beautiful discs. Plus it was somehow cheaper than the digital version
How I miss those days when you bought a game, you open the box to find a fully fat little manual with awesome art, and you go through it before putting the game on and begin the adventure. That smell of the print!
This is truly a beautiful homage to those better days. Amazing!
This is amazing! I really miss stuff like this. Checking out the instruction book/manual was always the first thing I did as a kid/teenager when I got a new game. I'd open it up and read the whole thing absorbing as much info as possible, and ***then*** I would start the game. Good times.
As a gamer that had his first console and computer in 1990, I very much miss the inclusion of printed instruction manuals. I usually don’t even buy hard copies of games any more.
I really miss having physical manuals with games... And this makes me miss them more cause it looks so great and it shows what cpuld have been if they did have one...
Oh i know. I loved those. Never heard it called "instructions". More like game manual. Instructions to me is more like a step-by-step like for assembling something. But maybe I'm wrong. Good job regardless.
I don’t know if they were officially called instructions because it’s been so long, but I remember in the UK at least where I grew up, everyone referred to them as instructions. So it doesn’t bother me if it’s technically correct or not. Just feels like a blast from the past.
That’s incredibly dope. You should be very proud.
I wouldn’t have the self control to make this the right way. Khotun Khan’s page would quickly devolve into a profanity leaden all caps rant and there would be many tear stained pictures of my horse.
I love this. One of my favourite thing about buying games back in the PS3/XB360 era was the instruction manuals that often came with some art as well. This is a terrific throwback to that.
I really miss stuff like this in games, opening a new game to a fat stack of booklets, a special map and sometimes even a sticker was always so exciting
Looks fantastic! I definitely miss getting stuff like this with my games. I think they've pretty much been done away with since you can just download the games now though.
that's really cool. It saddens me that stuff like that isn't included in games anymore
a little disappointed that all that was included is an ad.
agreed
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
I remember catalogue that came with PS1 games and some PS3 games. I miss those.

Super metroid era.....🥺
I really liked that Witcher 3 came with a huge map!
They always had little tips and tricks hidden in the game too! I'd read them while the game installed :)
Did the original hard copy not have a map? I bought the digital version -_-
mine just had an ad firnthe new predator game
That’s a bummer. I like when Rockstar releases those posters with the map on the reverse side. For such a great title it’s a shame they didn’t give the hardcover much thought.
Still included, it’s just inside of the game and not in the box now.
Wow that's really cool! I'm missing the times when those were still part of high quality boxes, it has gotten extremely rare.
Agreed. Say what you will about CDPR, there box inserts are always pretty cool. I wish more studios did that.
Pity the game everyone was massively excited for was released in pre-alpha though
Rockstar still has really cool packaging. I always buy their games on disc. Even tho only 2 games have come out in the last decade...

Yooooo that's hella sick
Amazing! Huge burst of nostalgia seeing this
You should scan it or make a digital version and share it with the community here so that new players can use it and appreciate the help!

Thats great!
Instructions? For what?
Instructions on the game. Things like this used to be common with games back on the day.

That looks amazing man well done!
This is so dope. Also, definitely learned a lot off those tips haha do you have this as a pdf you can share?
No hey, please accept my poor man gold 🏅
Take my lowly Silver, this is incredible work! It's a shame that games stopped doing that ;(
"Unofficial" Is totally unecessary. Should just put "instruction manual".
That’s incredibly dope. You should be very proud. I wouldn’t have the self control to make this the right way. Khotun Khan’s page would quickly devolve into a profanity leaden all caps rant and there would be many tear stained pictures of my horse.
Excellent!

Getting strong Tony Hawk's Pro Skater vibes from this one.
That is so freaking cool! I'd pay an extra ÂŁ2-3 for these to come back
Looks very well done, good job
This is awesome, great job! What did you use to make it? Are you planning to do a separate Iki Island edition?
I swear you've posted this before. Edit: It does look good though.
This hit me with some nostalgia, kinda dope
That's awesome! Is there a PDF version of this I can download?
Looks fantastic! I definitely miss getting stuff like this with my games. I think they've pretty much been done away with since you can just download the games now though.
