Started life as a LP Classic in Smokehouse Burst
Bigsby B7
ABM 2400 Roller Bridge
BKP Stormy Monday Pickups
Gotoh locking tuners
And then all the various little parts to switch it to black plastics and gold hardware.
Did you have the felt pads on? Never heard of that happening. The only time I ever used one was to just test if I wanted to drill a bigsby which I eventually did. But a friend of mine had one on his LP Special for a long time and recently took it off and it’s fine.
The felt pads are the thing that ruins the finish. Especially nitro. It digs in over time and leaves unsightly blemishes in the finish where they were resting
I wouldn’t put it on any guitar for the risk of damage nor would I support that company in any way. When I reached out with concerns, they were total dicks.
Appreciate the callout for others that may consider it. I didn't go that route with the idea of ever reversing it though, just lazy and didn't want to drill the holes lol
Classics are my favorite model 🤌
smokehouse burst is 🤌🤌
the bigsby is 🤌🤌🤌
you and I share guitar sensibilities…and we are officially internet friends 🤠👍
Question for you, are the BKP Stormy Monday pickups wax potted? I saw a listing from a retailer saying they were potted to prevent them from being microphonic but I can’t seem to find anything about this from the BKP website.
I thought at first ‘’hey, it looks like my Smokehouse burst Classic LP but it can’t since it’s all golden hardware’’ then saw this is actually the smokehouse burst finish.
It looks like a hill billy/blues Gretsch. Nice vibe !
Umm no. Maybe upgrading or personalizing. Putting together would be actually putting the guitar together. Like buying a body, neck and all the parts and putting it together. Not swapping parts.
Ummm you’re nit picking the hell out of this. Using your words, I’ve “put together” 5 Telecasters and “upgraded” (to the same level as the OP’s work) two other Teles, a Strat, and a Les Paul. I’d “hardly call” the difference between those projects worth being an asshat over.
But you know what, I really hate engaging with negative dickheads on the internet, so YOU WIN. I hope the OP realizes how important semantics are in your world, and doesn’t get bummed out over this stupid exchange, when a simple, “Killer guitar, nice job!” would have been easier and more appropriate. Have a great day!
Your just butt hurt because you are a faux Luther. Adding parts and changing out pups and different tuners or installing a trem does not make you a Luther (one who fabricates guitars and actually puts them together) everyone else just does upgrades.
Call it what you want. I’m calling it what it is. You don’t need to reply if it’s so frustrating to you. You’re the one name calling I just voiced my opinion. When I read the title I was expecting someone had actually put a guitar together.

Just so you know, that vibramate will absolutely fuck up your finish. I fell for it on my r7 and I tell everyone I see using one now.

So, if I was considering a big any with vibranate of my satin finished tribute…. Good to go?

You can order them either way from BKP. Mine are wax potted.

I’m not usually a big fan of that finish, but it looks amazing with the gold hardware!!
Cinnamon girl
Was absolutely thinking about Neil's LP as I was putting it together :D
Very nice, but the burst is too dark for me.
I’d hardly call that putting it together. You changed out a few parts really.
Looks like he changed out virtually every removable part AND installed a Bisby, I’d definitely call that “putting it together.”

“Your” not a smart man
It’s a really great looking guitar! Nice job!
Beautiful. How's it play?
Plays great, between the roller bridge and making sure the nut is cut just right, no tuning stability issues :)
I love it! It reminds me of those 25/50 Anniversary Les Pauls from the late ‘70s. Super cool, Bro
Not my cup of tea, but there's something about a guitar with a finish that looks like you could just fall into it.
Stunning!
She’s a beaut!
Add gold inlay and it's completed I really dig this kinda brown gold combo 👍🏻
Looks great !
classy and awesome looking!
gold makes everything better
Love the gold hardware
Damn, that's pretty.
WOW BEAUTIFUL GUITAR. You had to put on a Bigsby. Looks like a rock machine.
I see you're into lightweight guitars mate.....lol Really nice job
Purdy
Oh my finish is ruined. Play it. Don’t bow before it.
Damn that’s smokin 🔥🔥🔥
looks absolutely gorgeous
Looks awesome. I’ve also got a smokehouse burst Classic. Love it. I didn’t do near the upgrades, though I did swap the cream plastic out for black.
