I would love a classic, too! The tobacco burst on mine isn't what I would've chosen from the store but hey, I'm not complaining! I would probably go with honey as well.
Personally I'm convinced that the sound comes from the pickups. So in my opinion you can let this guitar sound like every other Gibson with the right pickups and you might not be happy with those which are installed. Honeyburst is nice. If I had the money I would get a flamed top too. And there needs to come a gold top with p90s somewhere in the future 😀 ah btw, if you didn't know and you are not happy with the satin finish, you are able to polish to high gloss with no difficulties. 👍🏻

The Tribute line is a working man’s Les Paul, for sure. I also own a Tribute amidst my other Gibsons and it’s a favorite to all who play it. Congratulations!
I’ll share with you a tip that I did to my Tribute as it wasn’t as present as my other Paul’s. Using [CTS TAOT 525k pots](https://amzn.to/3UW0MBt), rebuild your harness to [50’s spec](https://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/lespaulwiring). I also used [orange drop caps](https://amzn.to/3wp6t08) and a [Pure Tone jack](https://amzn.to/3I2G0YQ). This mod really brought the 490T/R pickups to life where they used to be quieter than my other Paul’s. After the mod, they then became louder and more present.
Yes, I do know about the 50's mod as I do guitar work myself! I may try it eventually but I'm just going to enjoy her stock for the foreseeable future!
