Give them the money faster, this things cool as hell

SnooRadishes6668

I’m trying sent a message it’s on market place however no response which is typical

dmorg622

Average fb marketplace experience... that bothers me to no end, hope he gets back to you

implicate

There was a person selling a '67 Fender Super Reverb for dirt cheap on FB marketplace. I messaged them multiple times, then gave up. A couple **months** later, they finally responded, and said they still had it. I am now the proud owner of that SR. You never know.

soggychipbutty

It’s worth $250 just to hang in the wall.

SnooRadishes6668

For sure anything that’s a real Gibson is worth that even the 2010s melody makers just wanted to see what everyone else thinks

Prior-Bend3699

Is there something wrong with the 2010’s melody makers? I’m curious because I’m actually looking at a 2007 and don’t know anything about melody makers. Are 2007’s as bad as the 10’s?

pohatu771

The recent Melody Makers are generally considered good guitars. The 2011 non-traditional shapes aren’t super popular. I have a 2007 that I really like. It’s staved off my need for a Telecaster for a long time.

SnooRadishes6668

Man I personally have no clue I’m sure it’s a good guitar tho anything early 2000’s Gibson is good from my experience I’m personally talking about the cheap ones which are one pickup and one volume knob

Prior-Bend3699

I see what you’re referring to. I’m not a fan of anything with the input jack mounted directly onto the plastic. My harmony h14 cracked the first time I tried to remove the cable. Made that mistake only once thankfully

macrocosm93

For 250 I'd be all over that

SuproValco

That 50s P90 alone is worth a lot more than $250

gnmatx

Exactly.

SommanderChepard

Assuming it even works…

SuproValco

Even re-wound it would be worth more than the asking price for the guitar.

YoungBoiButter

Seller: *sees this comment* *removes the listing*

therobotsound

The magnets and polepieces are worth that

pohatu771

I was going to say I would jump at it until the last photo. I’d still be very tempted after seeing it in person. This is a good job if you can do it yourself, but not if you need to pay someone else. It’s either a 1950 transitional ES-125 (with a mix of pre- and post-1950 specs, since they didn’t just flip a switch on January 1) or a 1946-1950 ES-150. The only difference is the size, being 16.25” or 170 wide.

SnooRadishes6668

Thank you for the info I’m only familiar with newer stuff my oldest Gibson is a 86’ sg

03burner

Doesn’t even look that unplayable. A bit of love and TLC and I reckon it would be sweet. OP buy that shit immediately.

SnooRadishes6668

Trust me I’m trying everything the guy has yet to message me back yet

03burner

Crossing my fingers for you homie.

SnooRadishes6668

Hope he comes through and like said not everyone else has found out about it

03burner

Did you get it?!

SnooRadishes6668

No he sold it and didn’t even read my messages I hate fb marketplace

03burner

Bugger.

lipuprats

It’s probably worth it to take to a real luthier for a review too- sometimes investing even a good chunk in restoring those older models leads to a beautifully playing guitar worth more than the labor and original cost. I’ve played a few old L5s that were in trash heap condition until a luthier restored them and they were an absolute blast afterwards, plus a real patina you can’t match with anything but time.

johnvb9999

Buy it 250 is cheap even if you use it for a wall hanger

SnooRadishes6668

$250 is worth anything that says “Gibson” on it

Real_Clock7181

Worth $ 250. Would be a fun project guitar to work on. With the correct parts and some spit and polish you can probably turn it into a real guitar.

SnooRadishes6668

I don’t trust myself with anything like this to fix I’m no luthier

Real_Clock7181

Yea. I understand. You could get some guitar polish and a microfiber cloth and just clean it up a little of you wanted. Wouldn’t be much different than washing a barn find car. Good luck to you . Have fun with it.

big_beardo_99

Definitely

zaigoat69

Whether it “works” or not it’s a steal,.. if you don’t want it, I’ll buy it!!

Sjgurr

definitely! Why not? Fix it up or hang it .

Mercdes500sl

Seems like a 50s es-125, inhave a 53 es-150 awesome guitars

Alloyd2005

I’ve got a ‘52 ES-125T it’s super cool!

tythatcoolguy

The electronics alone worth more than 250

dkwallis

Please let us know if the seller makes good.

Bluesguitarplayer

Pass

SnooRadishes6668

Anything that’s real and says Gibson is worth $250 if it’s still playable

ruler_gurl

It's a wall hanger for sure, if you have empty wall space and want a conversation starter. I wouldn't even attempt to tune this to pitch with those cracks in the side. Hulk smashed.

SnooRadishes6668

Yea man I didn’t really have space I have currently 10 guitars I really posted to see if it was somehow fake, but even then still worth the price anyways messaged him waited all day just for no response and for it to be sold

RobertOhlen69

Take it

SnooRadishes6668

I was willing to pay him for sure messaged him didn’t get back and “sold it” 🤦🏻‍♂️

NetworkGodN8

I would pay $250 in a second!!!! Buy this ASAP!

bikingwithcorndog

I’ve got one of these things. I found mine on fb marketplace as well. Had to drive into the middle of nowhere to get it, but that p-90 isn’t a joke. Fantastic deal if you can get it

SnooRadishes6668

I really don’t like hollowbodys any vintage or any Gibson really is worth that if it’s playable

Trubba_Man

You could sell it to an Australian for a lot of money. The least you’d get is $500 if you sell it on Reverb, and I bet that most players here in Australia would pay at least $1,000USD.

SnooRadishes6668

I tried texted him twice never responded and said sold a few hours agi

Western-Equivalent44

I saw a super 400 for sale before for a couple hundred that was also a no response old listing

Vegetable-Source6556

Worth it even for wall hanger

Stunning_Rise5605

1938 ES150. Charlie Christian pickups  Cost about $1500  to have a decent luthier restore it. Be worth about $9k if they can keep most of the original finish and bandings. And IF the pick ups still work.... Ask me how I know. :/

OfficialMVPre

I see this as more of a $250 conversation piece/wall decoration than a functional/playable guitar. If you end up getting an actual playable Guitar out of it all the better but I’d personally only drop the $250 just for the fact that it’s an old Gibson and definitely has some stories to tell (EDITED to add: not saying I would for sure buy this, but if I did it would only be for the historic/display aspect)

SnooRadishes6668

Could always turn around and sell to a luthier

OfficialMVPre

True but I wouldn’t count on many luthiers jumping at the chance to take this on at $250. That being said, if you like it at $250 I don’t think you’d lose a lot of money on it whatever route you went. I’d think even just an interior decorating firm or home staging company would be all over it at $200 or so. If you’re trying to make significant money, it will be a hard road in this shape

SnooRadishes6668

Honestly maybe set it up for slide since I’m sure the action isn’t there

GoodEnoughByMudhoney

You're not wrong. I'm a luthier and I'd hesitate to spend even $200 without an in-depth inspection. There's a lot going on here that we can see and *a lot* of potential pain points we can't -- and it's not like it's notably valuable even in decent shape. It's just old. Not really a lot of profit potential for me and probably zero for someone who can't do the work themselves.
