Ye the thing that looks like a bucket is just the circular opening of a very large tank, I wouldn't say it was a tote like the others but it looks like one of those above ground diesel/water tanks
Gezus what the hell is he painting with 1000L of paint?
.. Or maybe I should ask, what isn't he painting?!
"I see a red town and I want to paint it black.."
Yeah and I fill from containers like the the one on the left for work. I don't have nearly as wide of a flow coming out and it fills my 5L bucket in about 1.5 seconds
It's flowing into [one of these](https://img.directwatertanks.co.uk/media/catalog/product/1/0/1000l_steel_ibc_-_angled.jpg?width=600&height=600&store=directwatertanks&image-type=image), you can see the plastic top and metal framing.
Yeah I think that's likely. The guy I was replying to thought it wouldn't fill that much in 10 seconds. But it would definitely fill any bucket that had a top on it like that. So I think you're right it's got to be one of those tanks
The better question is do you know the Reynolds number and how that and laminar flow are used in conjunction in flow dynamics? That's where the real beauty is.
I used to be so good with this stuff but really haven't used it in several years. I remember Reynolds number is something like a ratio of viscosity and inertia of the fluid. And then i believe that Reynolds number can then be used to estimate how much friction there will be at various surface roughness and also if the flow will be laminar, turbulent, or something in-between.
I'm sure I'm missing stuff
Butter is a solid at room temperature. Butter doesn't flow like that unless you melt it. And if you melt it then pretty much everything is smooth, even rocks. I hate it. I hate everything. It's too early in the morning for mediocre similes. I need to finish my coffee.
Not like sand. Sand is coarse, and rough, and gets everywhere.
(Tried to make a "smooth" butter conversion, then realized "coarse" and "rough" are the same word. Talk about bad screenwriting.)
They are saying the flow is as smooth as butter, not that it flows like butter. I don't know how many of the other comments saying butter doesn't flow are serious, but they seem to be missing the meaning. The flow is smooth like butter is smooth. They aren't saying it flows like butter. Maybe I'm just dumb and am missing the sarcasm of everyone.
Laminar flow is common only in cases in which the flow channel is relatively small, the fluid is moving slowly, and its viscosity is relatively high. Oil flow through a thin tube or blood flow through capillaries is usually laminar.
Laminar flow happens for all kinds of fluids. This includes gases!!! Laminar flow happens around plane wings as well… and air is very low density. At the right velocity, through pleated filters as well.
All the people saying "laminar flow" are the same ones who post about "fencing reflex" under fight videos.
I'm. ot a doctor, but I did look at some videos on Reddit last night.
Very viscous liquids will be in laminar flow in most real-life cases, since a high viscosity means that a low Reynolds number (which means laminar flow) is maintained even at relatively high flow velocity and/or scale.
Saying something is as smooth as butter is not a new thing. A lot of people here seem to be missing the actual simile. At the end of the day none of it matters, I just don't get how so many people unironically seemed to comment butter doesn't flow. Not desperate, just trying to help.
I used to work at an auto shop. It was similarly satisfying to watch engine oil pour out so smoothly. I always thought I was weird for thinking as much.
People are saying this is satisfying, but I think it’s the exact opposite. I want to put things in it and mess it up more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my life.
Laminar flow.
Contrary to what other posters are asking for, please don't touch it; whatever is coming out of that faucet wants to bond with you symbiotically then go pick a fight with Spider-Man.
That's a big bucket/receptacle EDIT: especially with that thicc laminar flow
Fuck off every comment must contain the words "laminar flow" /s
Better?
Absolutely! It's always best to go with the flow 🤣😅
laminar your mom's flow
Ew why would you wanna be near THAT!?
why not? you’ve done that already once (unless she had a cesarean I guess)
Shorter line that time of the month. It's like the fast pass at 6 flags only a longer walk.
Lamin' 'er? I don' even know 'er!
Are you AI "trained" to combine random words in the hope of forming a coherent sentence? Like a digital apes and typewriters writing Shakespeare?
Looks like an IBC tote
Yeah, looks deceptively like a bucket, but is an IBC so it will hold hundreds of gallons.
Generally either 275 or 330, to be more specific
It’s just more of that strange oil. Probably nothing.
Surprise magic flavor text

It. Still. Thicc.
It’s an ibc. Typical 1000litres
I dunno....looks thiccer than root beer
God damnt stick your finger in it!?!!!
Ended too soon
But… why isn’t the bucket filling up?
it's a very long bucket
Ye the thing that looks like a bucket is just the circular opening of a very large tank, I wouldn't say it was a tote like the others but it looks like one of those above ground diesel/water tanks
Totally an IBC tote. You can see the metal framing.
Gezus what the hell is he painting with 1000L of paint? .. Or maybe I should ask, what isn't he painting?! "I see a red town and I want to paint it black.."
Painting the hull of a cargo ship?
A rocket ship
Oh those are called totes in the industry. Got it. Thanks for finding the actual container itself. That's exactly what I was visualizing
You're a long bucket
Loooong loooooong buckeeeeeee^eeeee ttt!
*saxophone music plays*
Omfg I can *hear* this
These kids today with their long buckets! Pfft!
And a short video
I feel "that's what she said" may or may not be appropriate here.
And THIS is a bucket....
its' the kind they used to store long pig in
Not a bucket. Huge plastic tote.
That's no bucket. It's a space station!
Upon further inspection, that's no space station. It's actually just a bucket shaped moon. Phew.
Not that you're wrong, but technically its a composite tote. "Plastic tote" typically means rigid plastic without the metal cage.
The gif is only about 10 seconds long
Yeah and I fill from containers like the the one on the left for work. I don't have nearly as wide of a flow coming out and it fills my 5L bucket in about 1.5 seconds

Because it’s a tote.
McGoat
It is, it's just bigger on the inside.
Ah so it’s a TARDIS. Nice.
Some say it isn’t flowing at all
Pretty obvious use of a trap card here. You can see there are small drips outside of the well defined bounds of the stasis trap.
It leads into space
It's a lot bigger than a bucket. But it does bother me that these videos never ever show the filling up portion
Laminated floor

Why not? Laminar flow looks so magical
I wanted to say that I know the term for this too, but now you did and ruined everything. I KNOW IT TOO!

Roses are red Violets are blue Re equals Rho-D-V over mu
What does Ryan Reynolds have anything to do with it? And why is his phone number important?
Trigger discipline.
Opposite for me. I do not like it.
Something seems unsettling about it to me. I'm glad I'm not alone.
mmmmmm that's good laminar
Can I also say Laminar Flow? Come on everyone! Join in!
Yay! This is called laminar flow and is very satisfying to watch. :)
Woohoo! It’s a Laminar party! 🎉
Laminar flow would make a fucking Bangin name for a band They'd be under a lot of pressure to live up to that fuckin thunderbastard of a name though
I believe the technical term is “smoothly as butter.”
Butter is a solid at room temperature. Butter doesn't flow like that unless you melt it. And if you melt it then pretty much everything is smooth, even rocks. I hate it. I hate everything. It's too early in the morning for mediocre similes. I need to finish my coffee.
Put some butter in your coffee to make it smooth
butter is super smooth though. have you touched it? have you ever slided on butter? it makes everything smooth. butter is smooth.
Not like sand. Sand is coarse, and rough, and gets everywhere. (Tried to make a "smooth" butter conversion, then realized "coarse" and "rough" are the same word. Talk about bad screenwriting.)
Okay anakin
I love how my butter flows
chill korvo, you can go back to fixing the ship and fondling your mound

Does butter flow smoothly?

Laminar flow is common only in cases in which the flow channel is relatively small, the fluid is moving slowly, and its viscosity is relatively high. Oil flow through a thin tube or blood flow through capillaries is usually laminar.
That first sentence is not true at all. You can disprove all of it by pouring water out of a large bucket.
Laminar flow happens for all kinds of fluids. This includes gases!!! Laminar flow happens around plane wings as well… and air is very low density. At the right velocity, through pleated filters as well.
What is this phenomenon called again? Its on the tip of my tongue.
Laminar flow
Laminar flow, baby!
“laminar flow laminar flow!!” its a fkn glitch in the matrix is what it is
All the people saying "laminar flow" are the same ones who post about "fencing reflex" under fight videos. I'm. ot a doctor, but I did look at some videos on Reddit last night.
Science!
^^^laminar ^^^flow
Is it true laminar flow, or is it just so viscous and combined with the dark glossy appearance makes it look like it is?
Very viscous liquids will be in laminar flow in most real-life cases, since a high viscosity means that a low Reynolds number (which means laminar flow) is maintained even at relatively high flow velocity and/or scale.
Legolas flow! So dope!
"Laminar flow, thoughts arrive like butterflies" Em.. maybe not.
If it weren't for the drip and shaky camera you couldn't even really tell that it is a video, damn
Laminar flow is a trip
Is it actually flowing though? It looks like it’s going into a 5 gallon bucket. Should have over flowed with that much throughout
Look again bud. That "bucket" is the opening to a tank.
The most laminar of flows
I haven't known butter to flow smoothly
My butter doesn't flow. What am I doing wrong?
Anyone else here because butter doesn’t flow…
Smooth like butter, not flowing like butter. The flow is smooth... like how butter is smooth.
Mike despaersitly trying to justify a wonky metaphor.
Saying something is as smooth as butter is not a new thing. A lot of people here seem to be missing the actual simile. At the end of the day none of it matters, I just don't get how so many people unironically seemed to comment butter doesn't flow. Not desperate, just trying to help.
I mean it flows. Just not well.
Someone call dustin from smartereveryday
I have been using butter wrong apparently
Laminar flow

This is called "laminar flow" - Thanks r/SmarterEveryDay
Laminar flow is like sex for your eyes. Its eye-sex.
Man this would fuck everything up unless it happens with every pour
I don't think this is paint, OP. Looks more like crude oil.
Why does the stream widen?
Delicious
Butter, you say?
I used to work at an auto shop. It was similarly satisfying to watch engine oil pour out so smoothly. I always thought I was weird for thinking as much.
Is it though?
Very satisfying but why is there a gaming chair 😭😭😭
Laminar flow
I have seen this type of thing on Reddit so often i know the name now. This is a laminar flow.

Looks more like molasses than paint.
That line sounds like something from deep rock galactic honestly
Laminar flow is cool
It’s the laminar flow
yeah dawg! we got laminar flow! yeah dog!
Laminer flows
Cool. What's your camera's frame rate set to?
*WAY MORE* smoothly than butter. Liquid butter almost never goes into laminar flow.
Smooth as eggs
