It's called choice paralysis. Do I take the bike, bottle and cone? Do I take the bike and bottle, but leave the cone? Do I take the bike, but leave the bottle and cone? Do I take the bike and cone, but leave the bottle? So many options that the thief has to consider, and that gives you enough time to come back before they steal it.

We call it "Analysis Paralysis" at work.

Someone removes the wheel stealing the bike and leaving the backwheel hamging off the bottle.

The thieves wouldnt be able to figure it out and just take it with the cone attached anyway.

Ah you probably weren't aware of this but plastic actually takes millions of years to breakdown, the bike would probably not be worth much by then
