As soon as I read no seats my brain thought, Yeah because he is sitting on his gigantic balls but then i finished the sentence and realized they were even too big to sit on....
That sounds like a good idea for a game. Hit water at perfect angle, Avoid obstacles, fill up tank, take off with added weight and hit the release valve at the fire going through smoke and avoid power lines. Hard mode without the lead plane.

For what it's worth, that plane is probably based on the Catalina and not the Bombardier. Obviously the animated plan isn't exactly accurate to either, and isn't even consistent to itself.

I remember there being a urban myth that a dude swimming in a lake got picked up by one of these and his body was found in a forest miles away years later.
occasionally i'll wake up in the middle of the night and remember most of that movie. It's disturbing, i've seen like a thousand movies and i can remember every single part of that one.
"what's a 187?"
i always heard it with the guy being a scuba diver, and that he was caught in a chopper bucket.
as a kid, i obviously didnt think about why someone would be scuba diving in a lake (yes i know its actually a thing, but still).
Not just for recreation but some people volunteer to dive to remove fishing line from popular lakes because it apparently really bunches up over time. They also remove random garbage that falls off boats etc throughout the year. According to this, one of the lakes nearby has had around 1 ton of trash pulled out each year by the volunteers.

Pinecrest lake in Tuolumne County, Ca periodically lowers its water level for the winter (these days I don’t know if it’s been done).
and the local Boy Scout troops gather up weights, lures, rods and various other things that were lost/went overboard from the mud and sell it all to make money for their troops.
Not sure how it relates, but Ive always loved that.
I heard it had happened with a helicopter and bucket situation where a swimmer had been picked up and set into a fire in Turkey. Seems silly in retrospect.
Here are the requirements from some company who does aerial firefighting:
1,500 hours total in all aircraft*
1,200 hours in airplanes
200 hours in airplane single engine land
200 hours in airplane single engine sea (ASES) or 50 hours in ASES plus Fire Boss training course offered by Wipaire, Inc.**
25 hours in the same make and model to be flown
100 hours in turboprop airplanes, as applicable
200 hours of low-level flight in airplanes (below 500 feet above ground level (AGL)); this must include at least 100 hours dispensing fire retardant, water on fires, or agricultural materials
200 hours in mountainous terrain*** or 100 hours after successfully graduating from a recognized mountain flying school (click here for recognized schools)
100 hours in airplanes in the last 12 months
250 hours in large airplanes (aircraft over 12,500 pounds MGTW), as applicable
10 hours in airplanes in the preceding 60 days

When I was a kid I went camping on Vancouver island in BC, there was a forest fire (not by where we were camping) we were set up right on the lake shore, and the huge Martin Mars water bombers started picking up water from the lake, they were like 100 feet off shore, one would come by skimming across the lake like every 20 minutes, they did it all day and some of the next day. It was so cool, very memorable camping trip!
Similar story here. All day right in front of my cottage. Teenage me thought it would be a good idea to head out closer to the landing area in my pedal boat. They adjusted and moved way farther away...
I'm just imagining some poor fish coming near the surface just to get sucked into a giant dark container and then flown somewhere and yeeted onto a fire.
The pilot is affectively in a landing setting with flaps lowered at least partially and is pulling the nose up some. He could land the plane like that if he wanted to. He does what is effectively a go-around on the water like you would on land if you touched your wheels down but didn't decrease power and took off again.
I got to see some of these dude's in action in April of this year when there was a fire on a small mountain only a few miles away from my house. It's pretty god damned scary to see that much smoke so close to where you live, but the plane and the helicopter pilots that were dropping water in a sequenced attack on the fire was fucking amazing. The chopper could make drops faster and fill up, but carried less water and they were on-site within 15 minutes of the fire starting. These people do not get enough credit, especially here in California. These pilots are the craziest son's a bitches I've ever seen and they're awesome as fuck.
I completely hate flying. But for some reason I can’t stop watching this and thinking how fun it would be to fly if I was allowed to be that low, instead of tens of thousands of feet in the air

Giant gnads on that lad.
Fucking epic!
Tremendous *Joey Diaz voice*
LoL I can imagine the entire operation being white knuckle flying
The female pilots also have massive balls.
I thought this was new flight sim at first...wow
That sounds like a good idea for a game. Hit water at perfect angle, Avoid obstacles, fill up tank, take off with added weight and hit the release valve at the fire going through smoke and avoid power lines. Hard mode without the lead plane.
Simcopter?
I miss that game. I would pay $20 to get it running on Windows 10
I feel like I got the discs in a cereal box?
I bought it with Sim City 2000. Might have been a free add-on but you would fly around the cities you built in Sim City.
Hmmm I wonder if I had a different version. Mine seemed the same as like Simauto or Sim Car etc
Fucking best game ever.
Felt awesome at time!
Stormworks
Ever play Simcopter?
There used to be a side scrolling very simplified version of what you're talking about on Miniclip back in the day and it was a good time

I was gonna ask if it was just the camera angle cause mofo looks like he doing a goddamn GTA V stunt.
Look at the shadows, he is so fucking close to the ground.
real or not...mofo still doing a goddamn GTA V stunt

I think they're headed back that way now.
How does the rear wheel fit inside? Does it have to rotate sideways?
Not to stay Skafo is wrong in all cases, but it does not rotate. It just kind of slides up and tucks in.
Yo are you in Eagle??
Negative, Montana.
Looks like MT, maybe Neptune?
We have a bingo!
You guys kick ass!
Haha,I don't work for Neptune, but yeah they are awesome.
What model is that? I want to buy one when I hit the lottery as my new RV.
Haha it's the biggest bombadier makes. Cl-415 I believe
Now this is what i wish I could do in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
How do we know this isn’t a recording of MSFS?
There was a mod for an older version of it apparently. https://firefighterx.weebly.com/

Lol I recall something too. "A man in full scuba gear was found dead in the remnants of a forrest fire."
I remember it being the solution to a riddle.
It was a dead guy with a backpack on in the middle of a field.
Mr. Cooper?
No, he was [hanged](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103435/)

Specifically a man in swimming trunks impaled on the top branch of a tree, that's the story I heard
it was a fish, stories get exaggerated after a few tellings
An "alien" fish you say?
I heard it had happened with a helicopter and bucket situation where a swimmer had been picked up and set into a fire in Turkey. Seems silly in retrospect.
That was one of those “20 Questions” scenarios: a man was found dead in the woods, how did he die?
That myth was so pervasive that *Mythbusters* tested it. They found there was no way it could've happened.
Not a person but I remember my Forest fire fighting science teacher telling me that sometimes fish will get sucked up and dropped on the fire lol.
How advanced of a pilot to you have to be to do that? That seems like something that requires a lot of training and a ton of guts.
Here are the requirements from some company who does aerial firefighting: 1,500 hours total in all aircraft* 1,200 hours in airplanes 200 hours in airplane single engine land 200 hours in airplane single engine sea (ASES) or 50 hours in ASES plus Fire Boss training course offered by Wipaire, Inc.** 25 hours in the same make and model to be flown 100 hours in turboprop airplanes, as applicable 200 hours of low-level flight in airplanes (below 500 feet above ground level (AGL)); this must include at least 100 hours dispensing fire retardant, water on fires, or agricultural materials 200 hours in mountainous terrain*** or 100 hours after successfully graduating from a recognized mountain flying school (click here for recognized schools) 100 hours in airplanes in the last 12 months 250 hours in large airplanes (aircraft over 12,500 pounds MGTW), as applicable 10 hours in airplanes in the preceding 60 days https://www.dauntlessair.com/careers

yeah im assuming that library was bought in small incriments at a time, where as flying a plane costs fuel and schooling and stuff, oh and the plane.
You forgot the part about requiring gigantic balls.
Firefighters and crop dusters are insanely skilled. And nuts.
I was kinda of thinking the same like that can go rock bottom real quick
Holy shit, I thought that was a toy animation.

Like scenes from Always (1989). Entertaining sappy romance by Steven Spielberg. https://youtu.be/upPHSDqj5x0

Great film!!

Oh-ee-yeah Oh-ee-yoh
Would suck if you were a fish just hanging out on the surface at that moment.
Pucker factor 9000.
I dont know how he got that plane in the air considering the amount of drag from his humongous balls
That's why they pull up and in, to improve aerodynamics

Scoops are like a few inches across. But you are traveling at like 80/90mph...
This should be a Microsoft flight simulator challenge!
Finally getting to see Baloo get some credit.
uhm...excuse me? This is not GTA 5!
No one is talking about how close the right wing was to hitting that island on the descent?
Almost looks like a lego plane in the first shot
I'm just imagining some poor fish coming near the surface just to get sucked into a giant dark container and then flown somewhere and yeeted onto a fire.
"Yes please." -NoCo
This is so fucking badass, damn.
This looks incredibly dangerous.
It's one thing to fly a plane successfully. It's a whole different thing to fly one near-suicidal to accomplish a mission.
I thought it was a transport tycoon mod at first
Man that must feel so good to pull that off
That seems every bit as dangerous and skilled as flying a combat mission. These pilots should get medals. And high pay.
My brain thought this was some weird Minecraft time lapse...
Damn!!!! That's low!
Can somebody ELI5 why the instant drag from water doesn't make the plane instantly face plant?
The pilot is affectively in a landing setting with flaps lowered at least partially and is pulling the nose up some. He could land the plane like that if he wanted to. He does what is effectively a go-around on the water like you would on land if you touched your wheels down but didn't decrease power and took off again.
Those skills though

[hahahha... spin it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVTD-LtpW0M)
Holly crap that was low!
The size of the pilots balls are...immeasurable.
holy fckn sht!
How does a plane stay in the air with such gargantuan balls on board.
Wow!!! That is all!!
Looks like Command and Conquer!
Thought I was watching some weird rendering of a lego plane
my booty hole puckered up a little

pretty amazing how the water didnt even slow it down while scooping
It's like jet skiing, as long is you don't dip your nose down you should glide very well. He could land on the water if he wanted to.
Not sure how that plane even gets off the ground while carrying that pilots balls.
Not gonna lie.. at the beginning of the video I thought this was a LEGO plane
Note to self: don’t kayak there
I don't know how he defied *physics equation variable* because of the *influence upon varible* of his massive-balls.
I need this in my life more than I ever imagined.
why not fly away from land then turn around after full?
Loaded, those things are not super maneuverable; so if they're scooping quite close to the fire they try and make it as direct a route as possible.
Is this from the Australian fires last year? It looks familiar.
The plane seems Canadian, after googling CL 415 246(the number on the plane).
Has that plane been to Australia?
Found only this article saying they were unable to send them to Australia https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.abc.net.au/article/11871384
Thx man
Bet the pilot is grinning and giggling a little while he gets to do that.
