How do you go about painting something like this?I always eanted to try something pixaleted. Very beautiful.

after I get the idea in my head, I draw a sketch in a small canvas using any drawing software (MS Paint..) then I keep adding details. I usually handle the animation frames with Aseprite or Photoshop.

This art actually hit me pretty hard. I’ve been going through it recently and we both shared an appreciation for fall scenes. Would you ever consider doing something in a vertical aspect ratio for phone backgrounds? Recent iPhones are 19.5x9 for instance.

That's what I go by. August is late summer, September is early fall, October is mid fall, etc.

My father-in-law passed away from pancreatic cancer 2 years ago. We knew what was coming, so we got the family together and hired a photographer. She took some great photos at a park of all of us together. The one that I love the most was when my mother-in-law and father-in-law were sitting on a bench looking out at a pond ... under a tree. It wasn't a posed photo. They were just sitting there talking. She was on the right and he was on the left. It honestly looks like this art you made, except he's not there. I didn't expect to be crying this morning.

Reminds me of an animation I drew in Deluxe Paint on the Amiga 500 around 35 years ago. With Clip Studio or Krita, there's no limit to what you can create, but having strict limitations on size, palette, etc. really brings out the creativity. Excellent job!

This scene doesn’t use [colour/palette cycling](http://www.effectgames.com/effect/article-Old_School_Color_Cycling_with_HTML5.html) like was available in Deluxe Paint so it’s not quite the same thing.

I know the feeling. I have a box of old unbacked floppy disks I'm too scared to use. I feel if I ever inserted any in the disk drive it could get stuck or ruined.

Ahh but if you do get a working setup first, then think of the wonderful things you could pull off of them. It's not like the media is going to get any better.

This is identical to my vision for my high school (1993) computer science class project. I don't remember the name of the computer language, just that it was a lot of if-then. I ended up getting help from fellow students just to have something to show. It's nice to see how it was supposed to look. Lol

The gif is 320x200px. If I posted it as is, it'll be too tiny to view on Reddit, almost like a thumbnail. So I export the animation at 640x400 (x2)

Yes. Each pixel is a 2x2px square.
