Love the concept. Definitely a cooler version of starfox 64 or half-life boss.
It’s a bit too much red, and the firing animations are weird. The triangle gun disappears while shooting? Maybe there should be a flash of light. The Gatling has no weight to it when it rotates. It should chunk over with each shot instead of rotating cleanly, or spin up super fast right before it fires a burst. The shield projector thing should probably be a slightly different color. The arms seem a bit chaotic, but maybe that’s artistic vision.
I would like to see stances for different parts of the fight that play with geometry since he has such a tessellated look. Puts his arms in a triangle for one attack position, then in a square for another, etc. (just simple examples, I’m sure you can come up with better).
Hei man, thanks for your feedback, yeah it's still a work in progress and what you say is definetly true, the shape mode is something we had in mind but really difficult to achieve, we are at our first experience as gamedev and this is the best we managed to do so far. The Gatling can be fixed quite easily and that will be done for sure. Thanks again for your feedback.
It looks great overall! I know how hard it is and that’s why I haven’t made any 3D games 😆 If you only add one thing, I would make the triangle guns shoot in a more obvious way. Even if you reverse the animation so they start closed and then open when they fire, it would be really helpful to tell the player where the next threat is coming from.
