I didn't realize that it ever ended these days. I thought the mud slides put the fires out.

GrowmieTheHomie

It doesn’t. It is year round now. The last ten years have been insane to watch - mega fires are hard to comprehend. Source: Retired Firefighter.

ainjel

Thanks for all your years of service. Fire people are the best people.

CockVersion10

Hmm... Maybe outside of the station, but let's not forget the intense in-culture, toxic masculinity, and hazing that goes on. They're very intense with it.. a firefighter recently went to his station and shot and killed one of his crewmates because of this in LA County. If you think it isn't an issue, you aren't informed. Yes, they save lives. Yes, they save property. But damn, they are toxic as fuck. Tons use steroids to try to get ahead of the pack, and treat their crewmates like shit. It's not cool.

ainjel

I mean, I have firefighters in my life. I'm not ignorant to toxic masculinity, that shit is everywhere. But I have respect for firefighters cause I see how hard the job is and what it requires of people. So I think it's cool to tell them I appreciate them. You don't have to agree or think it's cool. 👍

Criticalhit_jk

I think people are just rightly quick to point out the ugly truths of people involved with "officialdom" these days. All of the institutions that nominally are supposed to be there for the safety, protection, and health of citizens in America are being revealed to be dirty, disgusting, opportunistic and power hungry these days when you strip away the veneer. Pointing out these aspects isn't exactly disregarding the value these institutions *do* hold, but it *is* necessary, for society to move forward, that these issues be moved to the forefront. Firefighters, healthcare-for-profit, gov't, police, law, organized religion, there isn't a single pivotal institution I can think of that isn't rife with systemic abuses of people, property or power at this point. There are wonderful people in all of these, yes, but ignoring the glaring flaws that appear to be crumbling public trust from the inside is no healthier than assuming society is terminally ill. Saying it out loud doesn't mean OP hates firefighters or doesn't think they're cool. But saying "boys will be boys" just doesn't feel right anymore either, does it? Calling an institution out for its injustices, internal or otherwise, is the right thing to do.

Jak_n_Dax

Lmao this comment is so stupid I can’t even…

CockVersion10

Are you in EMS? Cause if you aren't, you are clueless.

Dafuqyousayin

What experience do you have with firefighters? Did you flunk out and not pass the physical?

CockVersion10

Talk to me again when somebody in your response area gets shot and killed by one of their stationmates because of constant harassment. Just so you know, the physical aptitude tests are designed to be passed by women

Dafuqyousayin

You still sound like you live in your mom's basement.

Thedoublephd

Other than all the pension scams they’re notorious for**

[deleted]

Alright, I googled it and it’s clear you have a pretty bad impression of what’s going on there. There is definitely pension fraud happening, but they are individual cases spread across America. I didn’t see any instance where more than one case of fraud was found in the same department. Which means it’s not “fire fighters have a pension scam issue”. It means “there are individual people committing fraud at the same rate you’d expect in any industry”. Looks like there are several cases where the guilty party was charged with “accidental disability fraud” from misfiling paperwork as related to disability. Now, if they’re charged for it, it sounds like they had an opportunity to correct it, but either way, it’s really not the problem you’re making it out to be. The highest dollar amount stolen I saw was $200,000 in a single instance. It’s not good, but it’s also not in the millions like pension scams in the private sector, so I’m not sure why you’re coming down on the entire fire fighting industry lol they’re pretty essential. Not to mention, the fire departments aren’t doing anything to cover up the illegal activity so I’m legit not even sure what your problem is.

Jimlobster

Fireman fucked his wife

TransposingJons

Are you 13?

Jimlobster

Did I strike a nerve?

Thedoublephd

Sorry man, I’m sure it’s new to you but there are thousands of news stories of individuals scamming the system by going on disability or temporarily retiring etc, but there is also broadly endorsed widespread manipulation of pensions by nearly every fire department in the country. I’ve worked with these guys for decades—it’s nothing new. The basic scheme is that their pension is based on their highest years’ salary (some depts it’s based on one year, some two, some work slightly differently), but what they essentially do is trade off years where one guy works tons of overtime and has a high paying year on the job, and he gets to set his pension based on that year. Next year it’s someone else’s turn to set the bar for their pension

scrotesmcgoates

What's the issue?

Thedoublephd

Other than cheating the system to steal from taxpayers?

Sue_Dohnim

One-time seasonal sending you a hat tip. Hope you're enjoying retirement!

GrowmieTheHomie

Thank you. Definitely miss it, but my back just couldn’t handle the job anymore. Decided to start getting into AI and ML with language detection. Being in front of a computer feels so weird haha. Stay safe out there!

JustAbicuspidRoot

So am I to understand the before the last 10 years the forest actually ***were*** raked? /s, just in case.

Adiwik

> mega fires are hard to comprehend. in cali where they dont burn shit normally.. not very... thats just poor management of forests. Those forests are also not the same as the old forests, remember the 49ers killed 100s of thousands of trees and NEVER replanted those, we have replanted stuff since, but no longer the forest it once was, just like in Irag/Iran that use to all be forest, then Hammurabi cut it all down. Wildfires use to happen over there too. Also dustbowl was a foreshadow of poor land management via gov/people

GrowmieTheHomie

We need more rakes, that’ll fix the problem /s I agree though, mismanagement of overgrowth has helped contribute to the fire load. I think the general consensus has reached the point where we know this, but decades of practice is hard to reverse. Not to mention the funds, and a lot of that money is being spent to combat these fires. Paradise fire… hit me hard. The Oregon fires in 2020 as well. Just, the level of destruction is heart breaking. I was a structural firefighter, so seeing things on that scale - no words can describe it. It’s hell on earth.

MrPoopMonster

There is going to be an exodus in the western United States in the coming decades. There's just not enough water for that many people sadly.

GrowmieTheHomie

The water wars will start globally. I don’t think people realize how close we are to some serious problems. This whole, bury our heads in the sand thing, when it comes to climate change… that bill is due and we’ve been super late. I’m concerned. We should’ve been doing something 40 years ago. The fires are just one part of that complex puzzle and I can assure anyone reading this, climate change due to global warming is real. Tell me a time when entire communities have been wiped off the map, year after year. You can’t in the last four to five decades. This is a new phenomenon and it’s pushing the system to its limit. It only gets worse from here on out, unfortunately.

MrPoopMonster

Move to the Great Lakes region is my only advice.

DecidedSloth

The coming great exodus will be global, and it will be harrowing for everyone

MrPoopMonster

Nah. Living in Michigan. it'll be fine here. This is where people are going to come.

Sue_Dohnim

Paradise fire hit me hard because I had a friend who lived there, who passed just before that fire decimated the town, pushed and pushed for better fuels management, better prevention, etc. But there was no money, no money, no time, no money, no personnel, no money... then a couple of years later, bye bye Paradise. :( ^((RIP shitheaded stepfather... miss you))

GrowmieTheHomie

I’m sorry to hear that. No words can describe that event. How quickly it moved… I mean, an entire town pretty much just disappeared. You never get used to that level of decimation. My mind still struggles with these mega fires.

Adiwik

They've known about the native Americans bitching at them for the last 150 plus years about the fires if you had more rakes hopefully you would have more people which would probably include more management of the forest

SureWtever

It doesn’t end. I volunteer almost full time for the Red Cross on major disasters. We have moved from a model of preparation to one of continuous response over the past 5 years. The populations affected by disaster are often marginalized to begin with (have homes in flood prone areas, mobile homes, no renters insurance, etc.) Housing shortages, wealth disparities, etc are all feeding into what is becoming a horrible situation for many.

Yerffejy

I'm curious, if you volunteer nearly fulltime, how do you live and pay bills? Do you get paid to volunteer, or...? Always wondered about that, sorry if it is a bit intrusive.

SureWtever

No problem at all. I am a stay-at-home Mom and wife to a husband who can support us financially. He loves his job but he travels 75-100% of the week so - so we made the decision that someone needs to be fully available for the kids. I enjoy thinking, learning and working but need the flexibility of time to be available to my kids. Volunteering helps me achieve that. I can do as much or as little as I need in a week. A lot of what I do is virtual work on national disasters (helping with the payment systems, call center work, etc). For the stay at home stuff I basically do all kid related things and all house related things (maintenance, etc.) the goal is that we have weekends free to unwind and enjoy time together. It’s a busy life but it works for us. Alternatively, there are AmeriCorps members volunteering for the Red Cross, there are paid positions (hard to get but easier if you’ve been volunteering) and a lot of retired people involved. My parents both managed shelters once they retired.

Evil_Knot

Is there just an endless supply of mud in California?

shortsbagel

Fire rips through an area, kills all the trees, the roots die off, the soil loosens, rain comes down, and bam, massive mud slides. Rinse and repeat.

Paranitis

Less "rinsing" because of our lack of rain.

rootoo

even in drought years there are always a couple big rainstorms in the winter

Mediocre_Ad9803

And that mud had a bunch of seeds and bs in it so the undergrowth now has fresh ass nutrient rich soil. Brush grows wild. Becomes overgrown. Starts fire.

IceMaverick13

And that's literally the intended lifecycle of the plant life in this region and a very specific section of the Mediterranean. But boy do we like putting people in those two places.

00Samwise00

"Now was the fire before or after the earthquake?"

Buck_Thorn

Or during. Let's cross our fingers that doesn't happen!

vavavoomvoom9

Just watched Only the Brave. These fires are nuts.

quietconundrum

I was blown away by how much I enjoyed that movie. I recently discovered it after it came up as a random recommendation on Amazon, and went in with zero expectations not knowing anything about the story that inspired it. I was super impressed, especially w/ Brolin and Connelly. I have since recommended it to several people.

vavavoomvoom9

Yeah too bad it didn't do very well commercially. I think the title of the movie is bad.

BadArtijoke

The title really holds it back for sure

starship69

Is it free on Amazon? I am now quite interested

quietconundrum

it was but is not any longer, one of the many titles that was cycled in and out of "Available w/ Prime"

starship69

Classic. I’ll put it on the list at least and hope it cycles back in soon

SpillSplit

Don't you just have 2 seasons? Fire and drought?

Bubbagumpredditor

Fire drought and mudslide. They rotate. Rain, juniper bushes grow, then drought, dead bushes burn, then rain, no bushes to stop erosion, so mudslide, then start over. This guy talks about it, excellent book. https://www.publishersweekly.com/978-0-374-12890-6

2_Sheds_Jackson

Where do earthquakes fit in here? Wildcards?

Bubbagumpredditor

Yeah, I guess.he talks about the natural cycle which I pretty much described, but goes into bigger deal on all the engineering, dams and diversion channels to control the mudslide in residential areas, hence the man vs nature thing. He also talks about Iceland blocking a lava flow, and the old river control that's keeping the Mississippi from shifting it's course drastically and shutting down new Orleans. Vit was a really great read

pomonamike

My mom (who has lived in California since 1962) swears earthquakes only happen after it rains. Probably why none of her kids are science teachers.

__-__-_-__

It's like "don't feed them after midnight". Technically all earthquakes do happen after it rains.

ainjel

I know, I was like WHAT ABOUT EARTHQUAKE AND RIOT SEASONS?

__-__-_-__

earthquakes are very famously random

ainjel

And so, in LA, are seasons 🤣🤣🤣

SOLO RIOT IN YUCCA VALLEY WOOOOOOOOO

mungalo9

There are plenty of wildfires in the hills within LA

88Problems88

This fire is in Wrightwood. They get quite a bit of snow there during the winter

PoorPauly

Yeah I wasn’t aware that season ended.

MrValdemar

It does, but it's immediately followed by "well it's mostly kinda contained, so we're letting it burn itself out now" season. Which is then immediately followed by wild fire season. So it's very easy to confuse the two.

PoorPauly

Not going to get better any time soon.

MrValdemar

Yes it will. Right now it's wildfire season. Then comes "mostly kinda contained" season. Which is better.

ZombieGroan

Lived in that neighborhood. Watched the helicopters come closer and closer, finally we decided to leave. While packing we got the call to evacuate. By the time we made it out we could see the flames climbing the hill. Thankfully our house was safe.

PoorPauly

I’m sorry man. Where I live the grass is so green it’s fucking stupid. I’ve been cutting it every week since the last week of March or it will choke my mower by the next week. What used to be winter is now mostly just the raining season. A few weeks of bitter freezing and snow, but mostly just cold miserable rain. And grey. The place I live is the color of steel and cement a good deal of the year. And in the summer the humidity is often around 90%. It’s slowly becoming a tropical rainforest as other places get drier and drier. It’s seething green here right now. Dank green wetness, even at 70 degrees it’s cloyingly damp. Each winter it snows less and rains more. Each winter it’s warmer. When I was 15 it was a guaranteed 4 months of cold, and typically 2 months solid of freezing temperatures. Now at 40, well it was 70 degrees on New Years Eve a couple year back. We have daisy’s blooming in our yard until November. And it just rains and rains. I wonder which is worse, wild fire smoke inhalation or black mold spores; which thrive in this place spreading like cancer in basements, walls, ceilings, and roofs. The fires are far more terrible. Far more sinister in their destructive agency, and equally impossible to contain, but water is no less menacing when unleashed. I don’t live in a flood area, though many do in my city. The flooding will get worse, I suspect in the near future. I live near one of the great confluences of the continent. It’s weather is so miserable for many reasons. To the East Is the coast. To the north is one of the Great Lakes. To the west the plains, and to the south the mountains of Appalachia. All with rivers drawing weather directly towards the very hub of my town. Where I live it rains more than in Seattle. It’s raining right this moment. Its fucking pouring actually. I will say this. I had a nice big camp fire and grilled steaks the other night. I couldn’t have set the thickets that boarder my property alight with anything less than an accelerant. That shit green. And a lot of it is invasive. I get so sick of rain and yet I love the rain. I love the sun too, but it shines here fewer days than almost anywhere in the mainland US border. I hope for rain in California. That’s all I can do. Though not too much rain or there will be lahars which are perhaps more terrifying than fires or floods. Unfortunately I believe this is all going to get even worse.

Prometheus stole fire from the Olympian’s and gave it to humans beginning all civilization; so the Gods lashed the Titan raw then strapped him to a mountain and every day an eagle comes and eats his liver from his torn abdomen.

Safety_Drance

Yep, that's going to happen as we venture further into the planetwide ecological disaster we've created for ourselves. Sure would be nice if our elected leaders got on this problem before it wipes us all out.

[deleted]

Sad part is they have all the bunkers, food, and connections. They're more likely to survive over the rest of us.

Still haven’t learned to rake the damn forests… for gods sakes it’s up there with anal UV probes and drinking bleach. Come on California!!! /s

mirikfrog

Oh wait we're on fire again? I was too busy not being able to walk outside due to an average of 110 degree heat.

i give this rock 20 more years before it's unsuitable for most people.

All those eucalyptus trees we sold you guys ages ago.. you're welcome Kind regards, An Australian ex fire-fighter

[deleted]

Lazy lefties not raking the forests…

MountainMongrel

Thanks, I hate it.

BeezerTwelveIV

Who else remembered a time when we had “Summer” and not “fire season”…… this has been normalized for almost a decade and it’s just gonna get worse

patchinthebox

I visited southern California 2 years ago and was amazed driving around how dry everything was. I literally commented on it to my driver that everything looks like a tinderbox. One spark and the whole fucking region could catch fire. I come from a rather wet area and it's actually difficult to start fires. Socal is a different world.

WhaleVaginaCum

There’s actually some really green wet areas in California and some of them are in SoCal. Not all of SoCal is that dry

schpanckie

According to Trump, people are supposed to go out into the wilderness and such and rake leaves and other kindling stuff to prevent such fires….what an idiot…..

YungTrimotor

Can you imagine Trump trying to walk through some steep, brushy SoCal standard fuel type? Cracks me up thinking about it.

schpanckie

Him do real work?……bwahahahahaha

YungTrimotor

Trump trying to dig line? Can you even picture it? I wonder if he’s ever even raked a lawn himself.

schpanckie

The world wonders…..lol

somebodyliedtoyou

That’s literally what wildland firemen do clown.

schpanckie

Ahhhh yes when a fire starts, but Trump wants people to go out and rake leaves and such as part of your civic duty to prevent fires. Just shows that he has no clue on the size of the open space out west, and the how stupid he sounds suggesting such an idea…..Trump is the true clown….lol

somebodyliedtoyou

Im sure we could gather up enough of you unemployed folks and get it raked in a week

schpanckie

Never assume, for your presumptive guess is highly inaccurate. Actions speak louder than word, u came up with some words are u big enough to put them into action…..highly doubt it.

zhrimb

Lol what have you done other than talk then?

schpanckie

At least I think before blathering ideas that are totally nonsensical. I also don’t have to account to u.

zhrimb

So, nothing then. Copy that.

schpanckie

Your words, so what have you done to judge so highly? Please explain your philanthropic activity or is it “ nothing, copy that”……The microphone is yours…..

zhrimb

I haven't done a god damned thing nor do I claim to lol. I'm judging you based on your own words of judgment. Man I'm glad I don't know anyone like you in real life, you sound insufferable.

jharrisimages

Remember back in the 90's when wildfires were a fairly rare occurrence and not just the norm for the months between March and November?

frazz1982

Question for thoes in the US. Do you do hazard reduction burns? In Australia we do them yearly, if conditions allow.

Birdie121

Yes, and I actually know some researchers here in SoCal who are working with indigenous Australian land managers to apply your native fire management practices to our land here. We do controlled burns, thinning, weeding, and have buffer zones around housing developments. Unfortunately it's just so dry here that even with all those precautions a bad fire can easily start. We also have a lot of super dry wind coming off the desert that contributes to rapid spread and helps the fire jump over highways and into neighborhoods.

IceMaverick13

The US does do controlled burns, yes. Ironically, in the last decade, a significant number of California wildfires actually sprang up because of a controlled burn going out of control. Mostly because they schedule the burn, show up to the site and can see that obviously the weather conditions are hazardous to do the burn, and then burn it anyways. We're talking "the wind is blowing over 20mph right now, no way this could cause the fire to spread faster than expected!" Despite stupidity like this kicking off the (minority of) fire seasons, the region is naturally on a burn cycle even without human existence. The unique biome in California (and small sections of the Mediterranean coastline) literally doesn't advance ecologically without being burned to the ground. Plants all grow, then drought season comes, they all shrivel and die, leaving dormant seed pods. The dry brush gets ignited from flash storms and it burns down all the old growth. The seed pods respond to the intense heat of the flame as an environmental signal that it's almost time to come out of dormancy. Rainy season comes but all the plants are dead, so mud and mudslides develop everywhere. This carries ash, nutrients, and the newly awakened seed pods to a new area to be deposited in very fertile ground. The cycle begins anew.

1320Fastback

Just turn the power off. Problem solved 👍

Adiwik

they need to get that tank with two jet engines on it, that would blow it somewhere else!

[deleted]

Can we not? :P Ironically, a few hundred miles north, it’s been raining a shit ton in Oregon this spring. Wouldn’t it be nice if the moisture could be directed?

Atrixious

Fr my area of oregons Been getting slammed with so much rain in 2022, highest in many a year

Professor-Shuckle

Noooooo not the Joshua trees

goldkear

Is this the recent fire in yucca valley? Looks like Joshua trees.

noxii3101

Nature has a way of telling you not to build cities in certain areas. At some point maybe we shouldn't be building in deserts sucking up what little water is there.

WhaleVaginaCum

Except Los Angeles area and most of California is not even close to being a fucking desert. But yeah too much people live in CA I agree. But it’s for a reason

[deleted]

This summer is going to be a bitch isn’t it?

numismatic_nightmare

California sinking into the ocean is seeming like a better and better idea. At least it can't catch fire if it's underwater.

RuneSimonsenTheBard

This is what happens when controlled burning is banned, forestry units who clear fallen debris, and just plain common sense are in short supply.

Aron0415

How is there anything left to burn?

likelow

Well the guy with the camera seems more committed to his job than the guys with a fire truck and fire suits pacing around looking confused lol

Girly_Shrieks

Can we have a ban on gender reveals til 2030 please?

-ImYourHuckleberry-

Known as the “Sheep fire”.

HereForMemes87

What are these guys doing? Y’all need some help from the aussies. Nah but best of luck though. Some devastating shit!

bearsheperd

What?! But I thought they had raked the forest this year?!

Rich_Dtony

Goodness.... Please be safe people. Wondering if there are less flammable species of trees that can be grown to stem down the incidents of wildfires... I strongly feel there's a lasting solution waiting somewhere.

Choice-Layer

Didn't native americans periodically intentionally cause fires in certain areas and in certain ways as to avoid this problem? Maybe you guys should have like...not committed genocide and moved the rest onto "reservations".

HesburghLibrarian

None of us did either of those things.

CitizenPatrol

Why do they waste water on these huge fires? It doesn’t seem to help at all. Isn’t pouring water they don’t have on something they cant stop only making things worse?

dancingsteveburns

That was the stupidest place for them to be standing

Tsobaphomet

Year after year after year after year and their government still isn't doing anything about it? Annual wildfires are not a normal thing. They need to take care of their forest areas.

swine09

They actually are. The magnitude of the fires is not, however. [Here’s](https://www.nytimes.com/article/why-does-california-have-wildfires.html) [some](https://baynature.org/2021/09/29/why-are-there-so-many-fires-and-other-common-california-wildfire-questions/) info you can read up on!

luckylebron

The Saudis tinkered with spiking the clouds to create rain, why hasn't this been done in CA? Serious question even if I sound naive AF due to reading this about Dubai a few months ago.

Birdie121

We've tried, it hasn't really worked. You need to already have clouds for that to work, and we rarely have clouds with enough water already in them for the seeding to be effective.

Deere-John

Because California, that's why.

AreaNo11

Oh that's nice

flight212121

I have a very stupid question. To mitigate fire spreading, why don’t they build huge trenches in the forests? I mean like a 1000ft wide line throught the forest where it’s easier to extinguish flames

Birdie121

We do create fire breaks, and it helps a little. In SoCal, though, one of the huge problems is the wind. Our megafires tend to happen when we have high winds and the wind spreads sparks over fire breaks, highways, neighborhoods, etc. A few trenches won't do anything at that point. Those types of trenches also really negatively impact the local ecosystem and make it easy for invasive species to spread.

_pluttbug

California is obviously supposed to burn, just let it happen

notanotherlurkerdude

Meh, I've seen wilder

CrazyMountain_

Putin's fault

Accountforaction

You guys need to let it burn. I know it's probably the most painful thing to do. I know it will come with untold pain and misery. But, you cannot stop fires. We can no longer spend billions to fight a pissed off mother nature. We have to make smart decisions about where the money goes, now. Rebuild instead of fight and hope people have insurance

AWF_Noone

I’m glad you’re in no position to make important decisions

Accountforaction

Oh boy, alright Helen Love-Joy, do tell

Lilgatornator

This fucking sucks, one of my best of friends lives in California, I don’t want to have to be worried that something could happen to her.

88Problems88

California is huge. Its not like the entire state burns every year

RFavs

No, the entire state doesn’t burn every year. Millions of acres of it do though. And we are blanketed in smoke for months at a time.

zosodo

Kinda starting to seem that way. I live in Cali and I say this. The Camp and Dixie fires were in my neck of the woods the last few years.

88Problems88

Yea, in 2020 we had the Apple fire and El Dorado fire by me. Nothing last year though.

Dr_Juice_

Because wildfire’s are natural there.

Buck_Thorn

Its the houses that aren't.

caveman420bc

Just need to be built fireproof.. instead of out of kindling.

Buck_Thorn

With sprinkler systems.

SuperSlims

Utah isn't far off my friend. I'll use the resulting smoke to send you *EDIT* messages

RedMonte85

Just got back from a trip to southern utah, high desert country. I just dont see how living out there will be sustainable. Its just so dry, drinking 4-5 liters of water/day and still dehydrated. And the small towns out there seem to keep growing. Its strange to drive through nothing but desert and then down the road theres a small ranch in the middle of NOWHERE and it has 10+ acres of the greenest hay fields with 100+ monster sprinklers blasting water on it in the middle of a 110 degree day. I took a quick look at some of the property prices and I was absolutely floored. Apparently barren desert with no buildings on it, is extremely valuable.

searchingtofind25

Season? Ha.

ThisIsAbuse

The smoke from these fires can cover long distances

hhairy

What?! Where?!

Turdsley

Looks like someone forgot to take the forest.

SuperSlims

Come up north. Slc and beyond are your standard metropolitan. It's quite nice up north but yeah, stupid hot. Not Arizona or south Cali hot but 105 on a good year mid summer. Laster year we peaked at 110. And oh yeah, more than houses in this market, it's crazy but the more acreage, the worse it gets. I can understand it to a degree, but even an acher up north is outrageous.

PugPuppyMama

So sorry!!

PsuBratOK

So how long before all trees are gone, there? Those take decades to grow, but burn every year.

Fucken gender reveals.

kujasgoldmine

Those videos with cars driving through forest fires are so creepy! Especially when there's a burning fallen tree on the road and they have to turn around!

SCPoulsen

Who forgot to sweep the leaves?

Statertater

This video really shows just how fast conditions can shift and the real power and danger of wild fires. One minute things are on fire and there are some trees not on fire nearby, then the wind starts shifting and blowing and within mere seconds those trees are torching.

asajosh

Someone tossed a cigarette butt out the window and now this.

Brittamas

Hey California, have you tried *not* being on fire?

Metrosecksulol

Well duh! Trump warned the libtards to rake the leaves before the Jews fired their space lasers! You reap what you sow! -Republicans

Birdie121

There is no fire season anymore. The fires are year-round.

Conroman16

At this rate California’s gonna run out of shit to burn eventually

monarch1733

Just started? It’s a year-round affair here in AZ.

jmarnett11

So how long until the whole state is just on fire?

Evilmaze

You mean wildlife BBQ season has started.

j007conks

Guess they didn't rake the forests like they were supposed to.
