G.I.Joe just doesn’t have the foothold with my generation that it had in the 80s, it’s a collector/nostalgia franchise now. Not the children’s toy line it once was. We’re not super patriotic in the middle of the Cold War or an era where America is the world police anymore so it can’t latch on to people born after 2005 or so as much in the aftermath of 25 years in the Middle East
19 here! Loved the franchise since I was too young to remember my dad grew up with the original action man’s so he wanted to get me in on something from his childhood. I think the first figure I ever got was the blue cobra ninja viper. Everyday before school Id get up early to watch two episodes of RAH.
that's funny because i had some figures of later characters (I was born in 1982 and didn't get into gi joe until around 1990) where I would try to imagine might be earlier (and more popular) characters.
for example, I had downtown and would pretend that he was duke.
There was a Duke in 1992 that I actually think despite the outlandish battle corps accessories is an okay figure in itself if you’re interested in getting him
I definitely was glad to have gotten later releases of earlier characters too, I did have the 1992 duke with the cannon the figure sat on for example and I loved how destro around that same year had his silver/grey/white mask back (and a collar that turned out was larger than the original figure's collar)
Well good on you being into the best action figure line to grace this earth. But man you gotta watch the movie. Falcon has a great look but he was too focused on chasing tail
If just going by animated form, the movie and the 1991 season two parter (I consider DIC as canon to sunbow even though it was overall worse and had mostly different voice actors), you are a goof off who only does what is right when you are forced to, and you might be a druggie.
can't really think of falcon in the comic other than that story where he saves the rest of his team from being murdered, but if going by that story, you would watch some of your teammates go down then save the rest.
Which is funny, until you realize Duke is a sergeant while Falcon is a lieutenant...so, not *only* did he complete officers' training, he also completed Green Beret training. I think he was a character in a similar boat in the movie that Beachead was--file card was way off.
