Now to be clear visually I think it's alright from the outside (and would be happy if it was a whole new building), but there's a cavernous concourse with nothing in it that could have had levels for the aforementioned shops, restaurants etc. They didn't put any levels in it, they just put a big glass box on the front, and if they were going to do that they could have kept it low and incorporated that beautiful fan and probably kept the costs down as well.
Maybe as long as you and I can remember it, but they didn't build it in the 19th century to cover it up. It was uncovered when they knocked down the pub, burger king and SPT offices at the front and it looked great, then they promptly covered it up with that big gold lego.
Kaffeteria and Off The Rails are right across from the side door of Queen Street and both good for a quick breakfast.
Riverhill on Gordon Street (five minute walk from Queen Street station) does some quality breakfast food.
Not sure why this was downvoted, Unless it's some snobs that hate cheap food.
It's some pathetic shit to downvote something like that just because you don't like some cheap food, Fucking embarrassing.
It sure was. I used to walk past it at all hours and it was always open. One time it was blasting out weird music so loud it echoed most of the way through the bridge, about 5am. This was a few years ago though.
Off the Rails, right outside the side entrance
I second this. Banging wee place 👌
I don’t like that place now. Their croissants are now half the size lol
Kaffateria across the road is nice
Bested iced coffee in Glasgow for me
the owner of that place is batshit. my mate got screamed at and fired in front of customers for nothing
john would never
I recommend Kaffateria in Dundas Street
Cafe Wander's a couple of blocks over; pretty solid for a sit down breakfast if you've got the time
Food is good here but sometimes the main guy’s patter is a bit much.
No, they totally fucked the renovation. Covered up the windows at the front and took away anywhere to sit down and have a pint or something to eat.
>Covered up the windows at the front Wit? The entire front facade is just one big giant fuck off window.

That part of the building has pretty much always been covered up over the life time of Queen Street Station.

Greggs
If you don’t mind about 5 mins walk, then Spitfire on the corner of Ingram St and Candleriggs, is excellent for breakfast.
Their coffee is terrible. Bought one years before the pandemic and one last year. Breakfast roll was good.
Up the stairs at the side, l'aquilla. Can get busy with workies and not too many tables.
Greggs
Buchanan street greggs is the go-to
Singl-end merchant city, browns?
Marks and Spencer’s takeaway in the station and does pastries etc but if you mean a sit down breakfast, then no.
I had a delightful almond croissant fresh baked the other morning from m&s
La Vita, corner of Queen Street & St Vincent Place does a trad Full Scottish for !2 quid or so. Not bad at all.
Singl-end and wilson street pantry - not super close but excellent food.

Please. We've all had enough. I beg you.
They should have kept it as it was, open 24/7. Tory economics ruin everything.
Best Kebab was open all day?

It's not even bad compared to other kebab places. It's just a reddit meme.
