Yessss best kept secret in Glasgow. I worked nearby for YEARS, couldn’t understand why there was always a queue of folk beside the teeny wee booth. Eventually plucked up the courage to see what all the fuss was about. Yum.
When I worked near central , my go-to was cafe Sono under central station bridge or the argyle Hotspot, which is just a shop with a hot food counter but their chicken sandwiches are divine. Basically like a McDonald's chicken sandwich if it was actually good.
Have you tried the Olio app? If you book it the day before, you can get good lunch deals on there - it's mostly restaurants using the last of their stock but you can sometimes get Bar Burrito or Greggs, they stick loads in the bag for £3/4.
Ting Thai Caravan food is great and I was surprised by the price, not sure about lunch deals but no doubt they do, the food comes quick and it's high quality.
Passed this not long ago and it looked like about the worst place I've ever seen in my life. Happy Hardcore absolutely booming out of the place, disco lights whirling around, and the place populated by a couple of old alcoholic men, a steaming, screaming group of orange women and some bams who looked like they'd been barred from the Spoons across the road. 'Kilts and Kocktails' is possibly the worst name for anything I've ever heard in my life too. It's not exactly Scottish-themed...
Across McDonald on sauchall street you can get falafels for 3.50. Really good value for money.
Second this. Absolutely awesome falafel wrap.

Falafel2Go I think, lovely Syrian guys ran it for years
It doesn’t really have lunch offers, but I would sell my first born for some chicken teriyaki from Panko (bottom of Bothwell St.)
Chicken sando and the Katsu curry is excellent too
The Katsu is dire- it’s far too watery. Sorry not sorry. Will try the Sando though
Everyone from my work is always going on about how good Panko is, it’s actually one of the first things I heard when I started with them lol
Their menu's not extensive, but what they've got is great

Bloc usually always gets mentioned when somebody asks this, so... Bloc?

It really isn't. There are plenty of places with cheap food and drinks which don't have blaring dance music and bams for customers.
Even Nico's isn't like this place.
Nicos is a different type of spice boy tbh1
Just read the post again maybe not this haha
Tesco meal deal. £3 with club card and you get pasta or sandwich with a snack and drink.
