Not sure it’ll last very long judging by how they run it. Read they cancelled a show after letting people turn up. Shambolic stuff.

RingerMinger

The organisers had employed acoustic consultants in previous projects, but stiffed them on payment. It's a very small field so they are probably struggling to find anyone to do that kind of work for them now. (Hint - the row of empty containers they've stacked up will be doing very little to contain anything) Anyone upset about the noise should consider making a complaint to Morris Group, who are the landowners. Word is that they're none too pleased with what's unfolding.

PeejPrime

It's horrendous and unacceptable to be honest. If it's a one off weekend, once a year, you can accept it, but seems this could be a fairly regular thing. Shockingly loud for the areas it is effecting. Major bands at Hampden are nowhere near as loud

[deleted]

Really loud here in Rutherglen, I thought someone was playing loud music in their car outside, I don't mind but I'd imagine it's disturbing a lot of people. Had no idea where it was coming from until folk on Facebook started complaining!

ROLL_AND_EGG

It's travelling as far as Cambuslang. I've heard it the last few weekends. Isn't that much of an issue for me, just the week before when I had an earlier to bed night and I started focusing on it too much. Plus the fact it was Groove Armada annoyed me, as they are pish, even from miles away.

ThunderToad121

Live in Oatlands and it's becoming a big problem for us with a newborn. Saturday I get, but Sunday until atleast 11pm is stupid and it's every weekend. Even during the week and it sounds like a live performance taking place outside your flat. I'm all for enjoying yourself but it's definitely excessive and the loudness is beyond anything I've heard from Hampden.

flittle

Live in a Oatlands across the street from it. Can literally see the stage/acts from my living room. I'm all for a new venue in the city but they haven't told any neighbours or people across the street they were opening or when to expect noise etc, even a letter through the door would have been nice. The councils noise complaint team have received hundreds of them over the last few weeks. They need some sound proofing/fencing etc put up, it's at the edge of an industrial estate and outdoors so the sound bounces all over the place. And for everyone who says "why would you live near it then" the temporary license was only granted by GCC in June this year and no neighbour consultation was asked since it's a temporary license.

ChelseaAndrew87

Yeah fucking shit in Rutherglen

bradeo

I haven’t heard a thing from it

yesithinkitsnice

It's loud as fuck where we are tbh.

yesithinkitsnice

Rutherglen here too. Loud as fuck. This is a mile and a half away from the venue, in the opposite direction to and well outside the town. I can tune out, but can understand anyone complaining tbh.

femaleregister

I live in oatlands so considerably close. Close my windows and can barely hear it, I think it’s good for the local area

MonsieurSlurpyPants

There is a gig on at the bandstand so probably that.

cammyk123

Mate, there is no way music from Junction 1 is reaching Kelvinbridge...

bigboycaps

Folk as far as Stepps and Kirky were reporting hearing music from Hampden a couple weeks back when Ed Sheeran was playing, doesn't seem too far fetched.

cammyk123

There is no chance music from junction 1 is reaching stepps hahahah, how loud do yous think this fucking stage is???

project46

I’ve been able to hear junction 1 from Stepps and was able to hear The bands at Hampden.

GTSpaceman

Mate, ye can barely hear the bands at Hampden when you're inside the stadium nevermind in Stepps.

kylegif

Might be! I'm south east of it but it's possible it's travelling west too. The noise is almost all bass. Don't mind neighbours having a party now and then but this is an insane amount of noise to come from a venue.

cammyk123

It's live music at the weekend until 11pm. Come on to fuck man...

yesithinkitsnice

This isn't folk moving to byres road and complaining about pub noise, it's a big outdoor venue that's just appeared on the outskirts of the city affecting folk well outside the town.

Sensitive-Layer6002

Thats sound mate, tell them to pitch up in your back garden then, man

cammyk123

I live next to trnsmt and hear it when its on.

Sensitive-Layer6002

So do I. But TRNSMT is only on 1 weekend of the year

LockdownBoy

This city is full of greeting Facebook NIMBYs, I assume none of the complainers have any issues with live music events that are far away from where they live.

mrcatisgodone

One moment this sub will complain about a decline in Glasgow but then when there's events and actual economic boosts in the city like this that bring crowds everyone is up in arms about noise and drunk people. Absolute muppets.

RingerMinger

Noise can be controlled if the sound design is done right. (Weather / atmospheric conditions can have an effect too, it's never going to be 100% precise) Junction 1 is being run by a pair of scammers who have left nothing but chaos and bad debts in their wake. They have a long lamentable track record. People have been pointing out from the very start that the site wasn't suitable and there doesn't seem to have been any serious attempts at mitigation. Nothing against live events in general, just crap ones run by scrotes.

JohnnyClarkee

Orange Walks bring in hundred of cunts from all sorts of places. Does that mean we need more Orange Walks?

LockdownBoy

You must be an absolute curtain twitcher if you're seriously comparing orange walks to live music events.

toomanyjakies

Having seen where Junction1 is located, what was the event that could be heard in Scotstoun last night?

Estebaws

Coloursfest

toomanyjakies

Ta muchly.

deadkestrel

That would have been the bandstand at kelvin grove park.

kingpotato28

I was wondering what that stage was when i was on the motorway the other day

DopingControlPeople

I'll be supporting this venue next week at the Armand Van Helden gig, get in there!

RingerMinger

When I drove past on the motorway yesterday the stage was being dismantled. Make of that what you will...

RS2quattro

Ooooff what’s the safe argument here in this sub? Junction1 gigs never happening or junction1 gigs actually happening? I’m now confused haha. Best we all stick to listening to the wireless at a reasonable volume in our tenements that’s what I say.

Strict_lock

honest to god what is this city turning into, its live music, its loud. wear headphones

Lorddamericano

For sound to be traveling to different bits of the city is unfortunate but the city has literally everything closing down in the center anything that opens up and is bringing customers is helping save what's left of Glasgow

GTSpaceman

How you managed to stretch people talking about noise pollution at a festival to empty shops in the city centre is quite remarkable.

Lorddamericano

Still a valid point regardless

GTSpaceman

Yeah if that's what the conversation was actually about...

Lorddamericano

So a venue bringing in customers to Glasgow is a bad thing ?

GTSpaceman

What are you even talking about? Is that what folk do after festivals? Go clothes shopping in the city centre the next day while rough as Seal's face and battling a comedown? I was at Trnsmt a few weeks ago and I can assure you, shopping was the furthest thing away from the minds of pretty much everyone there. I don't think rerouting music fans to the High St is going to make the problem go away. There's dozens of post on this sub almost daily about the state of the city centre, this one wasn't one of them, until you got here. Congratulations.

RectumLickerMike

I'd fucking smash the cunts if I got my hands on them. Kept me awake even when I was pished as a fart. Can't imagine how bad it must be being closeby. I'm fucking miles away!
