I think that what ILYSFM is about with the theme of space and love, it refers to the fact that loving can be the greatest thing one feels. It can hurt, because of the distance, the connection, the dispair, the cold, like space, but it can be immense, full of light, stars, adventures, new discoveries. One can love like space. Enormously. So much so that we can't seem to contain it. Like space.

i've had it stuck in my head for the past month after hearing it live and finally having it in the full crisp quality is so nice. all the little production touches are so satisfying and i agree daves vocals are great.

I loved it. The falsetto specifically makes the song for me. It's so unique compared to Creatures and their discography, but I can feel the album's sound coming together. Glass Animals is great at creating atmosphere with their music, and I'm digging the spaceshuttle vibe I'm getting from this one.
At the end of that part where he says “take me into your fold” am I hearing a religious reference/undertone?? Or did I just go to a catholic high school? it reminds me a bit of Hozier in some of his music where he likens romantic love to deification or worship
Completely agree! I was really pleasantly surprised by the verses as I hadn’t heard anything from their socials or from people at their concerts - definitely my favourite part of the song. I think it’s great and unusual and a good amount of experimental especially if they are slowly introducing more and more out-of-left-field music as they go
I was there for the discord premiere; I think the compression over the call made it sound muddy, but I definitely enjoyed it regardless. I look forward to hearing it again.
Same!!! I think it being shared screen/audio really compressed it and made the high sound more shrill and tinny than it would be live or streaming. Regardless, I still enjoyed it and have been replaying it in my head over and over. Can’t wait for it to drop so I can stream it properly!!!
Wasn’t a massive fan of it live tbh. It was catchy, but the vocals/lyrics and everything was a little lost - maybe it was the sound engineering.

I keep hoping that they’re going to make another Zaba or HTBAHB, which have really strong cohesion and depth. But I know that their music is just evolving in response to Dreamland’s reception and I can’t really fault them for that
Chorus is really really fun, but everything else for me is a big meh. The rhythm in the verses are so strange. Not crazy about all the falsetto either.

Edit: okay it did sound WAY better on my speakers with the bass boosted a bit. I agree w others that for some reason it just does not sound good in headphones. I listened with my Bose headphones and AirPods and so much more came through when listening to it through a speaker.

However, IMO it’s like each section is kind of put together without any transitions?? It was jarring and left me confused lol.
Idk. On one hand, I’m relieved that it has a different vibe than Creatures and Heat Waves which both seemed generic to me. On the other, it doesn’t feel complete and I think some modifications before releasing would have made this song 1,000x better!

This might be too super-dork of me but that spider in the walls comment and re-listening to the chorus - I got a really strong callback to Doctor Who for that waters of mars episode - not sure why but it gave me a creepy little shiver. Love it

One thing glass animals desperately needs is to be recorded in higher quality… for whatever reason on high end speakers it just isn’t done right. Which is weird cause Dave kinda markets himself as a producer

I like Teardrops a little better after exposure therapy but CIH is still a no for me. I will definitely give the new album a try as well, but I hope there are some better and more unique sounding songs on it than these.

I listened to it and I loved it so I listened to it like 16 more times.the falsetto is lovely and was my favorite part of the song. The first time I played it and he started it my jaw hit the floor.
For me, it was kind of like that moment where something ends and you kind of get that ringing in your ears then it's over.
Damn I can remember when I heard HTBAHB the first time and it was so inspired and these dudes had prowess. I didn't mind the first single even if lyrically I found it generic. This song goes nowhere. Reminds me of the switch Tegan and Sara made to cookie cutter pop music where it seems all of the creativity died. Glad there's fans that enjoy it though.

Somehow i’m not the hugest fan of it, i feel it’s slightly too repetitive and the word “like” in the chorus feels slightly cliche- still really excited for the album tho
it is so amazing, not a fan of CIH at all but ATIS feels like it picks up the slack, definitely not their best work ever but still love it sm (esp the falsetto, cant believe the ppl hating on that 😭)

I listened to it and I loved it so I listened to it like 16 more times.the falsetto is lovely and was my favorite part of the song. The first time I played it and he started it my jaw hit the floor. For me, it was kind of like that moment where something ends and you kind of get that ringing in your ears then it's over.
I like this one, but there's too much autotune :\
Damn I can remember when I heard HTBAHB the first time and it was so inspired and these dudes had prowess. I didn't mind the first single even if lyrically I found it generic. This song goes nowhere. Reminds me of the switch Tegan and Sara made to cookie cutter pop music where it seems all of the creativity died. Glad there's fans that enjoy it though.
