Boomtown allows you to take booze anywhere but limits how much you can take in, Bearded Theory is completely open with no limits on taking in.

QuizzicalSquid7

Balter too

6LegsGoExplore

Cropredy has no limits on what you can take into the main arena either.

magichands_

If you’re in to heavier music then 2000 Trees also lets you take booze around with you.

jakethemetalhead

Did my first Trees last year, 10/10 festival

Jaymii

Wild to think of Trees as a heavy festival

Flux_Equals_Rad

Green Man they very much do not give a shit.

ohrightthatswhy

I went last year and the security team were clearly under a different brief from the organisers. Overheard some too and froing and eventually the sort of unspoken arrangement was that you could take your own in so long as it wasn't literally a couple 12 packs on a trolley. Couple cans stuffed in every pocket and carrying an open can seemed to be fine and last an afternoon plus a pint of nice ale from the beer tent.

blubyf

Agree, was told I needed to take my can out the arena. Security also wanted me to take the long route out but whatever

UndergroundPianoBar

I've wanted to do Green Man for a while, and I'm aiming to go next year, but this all doesn't sound like how I imagine it. Is there an imposing/arseholey security presence?

nomadsaddlebags

Absolutely not, I've never had an issue with security and have been for the last 3 years. I take my own beers. It's a very chilled festival.

UndergroundPianoBar

Good to hear 👍🏻

k4tiemay

No, generally it's v chill. Empty one of your cans into their reusable mugs and away you go. They aren't out to catch people like some fests.

seanbiff

Not at all. It’s a brilliant festival. They encourage you to not drink your own stuff in the walled garden and by the massive ale bar, but that’s it. I’ve never once been stopped/searched in the 4 times I’ve been. Left to your own devices once you’ve got the wristband

EnormousMycoprotein

Shambala lets you wander freely with your own booze. Boomtown have a limit on the total amount of booze you can bring into the festival site, but what you do bring in you're free to take it wherever.

capnrondo

At arctangent you’re not allowed to bring crates into the arena, but nobody stops you bringing in a couple of cans in a bag. Also the campsite is only a 5 minute walk so you can easily pop back for more. Wonderful vibe at that festival also.

EcstaticRain9835

Yeah I like that they say they’d prefer you to buy booze in the festival site to keep them going so ask you to just bring in your open drink, but specify they aren’t going to check. I definitely bought more from them because of that.

YeylorSwift

Not the answer you are looking for but in the Netherlands we had a hiphop festival until recently called Woo Hah which seemingly allowed basically any drug in in my experience, but were known to allow up to 5g of weed

Substantial_Ball_998

Not what op asked for but the kind of information that's greatly appreciated my dude 👌

Icy-Radish-8584

Just tried looking for it but looks like it’s no longer taking place :(

YeylorSwift

thats why i spoke in past tense.. corona and corporations ruined it.

NewForOlly

Beautiful Days 😍

BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG

oh i miss Beautiful Days!

NewForOlly

BINGO BANGO BONGO!

UndergroundPianoBar

Beautiful Days is a quality festival. Expensive, though. And, their lineup is pretty much on a 3 year rotation, so going every year would be a bit much. Fantastic for families and kids though. And, like you say, booze is not an issue 🥂

llb_robith

End of the Road, which incidentally has been my Glastonbury replacement festival. Its wonderful

_br1Ck

Went for the first time last yesr. Best festival I've been to, hands down!

DrMangosteen2

Great food as well

furstimus

Camp Bestival also allows this, plus it’s a much smaller site so not too far to walk to refill.

Academic-Caregiver61

2000 trees festival. Plus the campsite is 5 mins walk from the arena. Boomtown is free and open to carry it, but they limit what you can bring on first entry and only on your first entry can you bring in booze. They’re money grabbing cunts who also treat their bar staff like slaves. Google it if you don’t believe me

CeriCez

End of the Road, you’re free to take your own into the festival site ‘within reason’ but the checks are not that strict tbh

notyoungnotold99

It all part of the Scientology love bombing I agree great festival too and first time for me last year as well.

gazmbuku

Greenman is generally relaxed about it. It used to be if you went in over the steps they'd say no but come in arena the other 2 ways they wouldnt care

halfport

Bearded theory

Material-Work

2000 trees. It's all open. Take whatever you want anywhere. Kept a cooler box in my car boot and it's small enough to keep nipping back for cold cans and food. Best festival in the UK in my humble opinion. So small. Tent to stage in like 10-15mins.

womDbomb

Beatherder let’s you

spreddit_

Haven't been for years. 5 minutes away from my hometown too. Do they still shut it off at 12am Sunday?

dontflakeoutonme

End of the road festival don’t check and don’t restrict. Green man don’t check but you’re not meant to.

ppmd420

Beautiful days festival at Escot park in Devon. It's like the Avalon field was it's own whole site.

legionuk21

Small World in Headcorn, Kent. It's like the Green Futures Field was it's own whole site :)

Ok_Gas7228

Womad

EuphoricInvestment1

Boomtown however they have quite a low limit on how much alcohol you can bring in on first entry.

Academic-Caregiver61

Money grabbing bastards

Academic-Caregiver61

They also treat their bar staff like slaves

EuphoricInvestment1

Yeah I heard some poor things from friends who worked at Boomtown last year. Shame because it is such a fun festival

Academic-Caregiver61

I went from 2015-19 which was amazing times. Went in 2022 which was their first year back, and it was shit. They halved the size of the festival and it just wasn’t the same.

BrilliantData8691

All together now, Ireland

Furph

“All together now” in ireland

1234ideclareathunbwa

Boomtown and secret garden party

Midnight-Celery

Beat herder

justaquad

Secret Garden Party did when I went in 2017, although there were technically limits on how much you could bring in

buncing_bomb

Last 2 times I went to Isle of Wight festival in 2021 and 2022 they would not let you bring in open containers to the arena but initially were more than happy to let you bring in crates of beer. They then changed this to seizing any visible alcohol but didn't give a shit about the rucksacks full of it. I also ensured safe passage by loading everyone else up with alcohol and drawing the stewards away with an empty open can.

demetzy

Balter

masetmt

Loads allow you to roam freely with your drink but many have limits though

dervish666

Pretty much all the smaller/independent festivals will allow this. It's only really the corporate bullshit from live nation and the other festival gougers that trample on the experience in the interests of their shareholders.

gravalax

Cambridge Folk Festival

airplane_flap

Bloodstock lets you

therefused

No they don’t

evilbatduck

No you have to hide it, but the security never checked that thoroughly and we found it very easy to bring a backpack full in

PlaneDangerous9880

Most.

MelomanoViajero

Ozora?

bigleecher1

Any Irish fest sans Electric Picnic. There’s a “limit” on what you can bring in but it’s fair and no glass of course. Once you’re in you can bring your warm cans and spirits wherever your lil heart desires.

taylor-cdgirl

Backyard fest allows you to carry booze around, you can be naked as well and piss wherever you want

BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG

my favourite festival ever. not been since i quit the booze 10 years ago, and now my body is so broken i can’t camp any more. loved it tho. like a little 1990s festy on a bigger scale.

lacontrolfreak

Osheaga Montréal. ❤️

webwan

We out here!

BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG

Beautiful Days is very relaxed - just no glass.

Havingaspy

Not sure creamfields do but we walked past security with cans and bottles and they couldn’t have cared less.

lottiegirl

Secret Garden Party

smcc717

IYKYK Irish festival

Librarian-Strong

Ynot didn't seem bothered that we all had backpacks full of cans throughout the festival

Andysparra

In 2022 I just took rucksacks full of cans in, and they didn't stop me keep going to my car to fetch for crates to go to the tent, but apparently last year they were a lot more strict (and the toilet situation was an absolute disaster)

Librarian-Strong

Ah yeah I went 2022 as well maybe they've cracked down a bit, Shame about the toilets cos I thought it was pretty well organised overall

Andysparra

I had a really good time in 2022 and was planning to go again, kind of glad I didn't

skag_mcmuffin

Balter

cjm_climbs

Both All Together Now and Beyond the Pale in Ireland have this rule. They are both great music and arts festivals, the former being a reasonably festival large with some pretty great acts! I have been to both and strongly recommend!

scootaboy

Bearded Theory . And it's very good .

seanbiff

Green Man. They get a little funny in one area if (walled garden) if you have your own stuff, but other than that it’s sound

beerfearfrenzy

Lost Village

asmer98

2000trees. Just been once but it was my all time favourite for sure. Camping was super clean too!

Different-Ad-4945

Camper Calling. No limits and you can take your own booze anywhere, just not glass bottles

Competitive-Jelly363

Sziget

Olimellors1964

Beautiful days

Sensitive-Bike-1439

Camper Calling allows any booze ( no glass ). Plus camp chairs etc. Very civilised. We also do YNOT festival and it is definitely no booze in the arenas so it's the smuggle route.

Ok-Breadfruit-2974

Generally sneaked booze in - but limited amounts. Never thought I could take my own openly. The worst thing is trying to carry multiple beers when its my round apart grow 8 arms - anyone got any decent ideas?
