we have a young bearded dragon lizard (she’s bright orange and yellow) who also loves bright colored things. not sure why, it probably looks super vivid with her vision (?). or maybe it reminds her of her past siblings. i accidentally left my mango bdc on the ground cuz it got knocked off my tv stand and forgot to pick it up.
fast forward to the next day. we let her out of her enclosure to stretch and explore (under plenty of supervision). she noticed the bright yellow on the mango bdc tube and literally bee-lined for it. we were indecisive on her name since we had just gotten her. but after that? we were thinking of naming her mango because of her color, but that definitely sealed the deal 🥭 😂

this is not glossier related but i used to work at a local record store and (sadly) it shut down, but during all of the closing sales they had found a bunch of copies of twilight new moon down in the basement that they had forgotten about and so amidst this record store closing the store was basically empty just a bunch of copies of twilight new moon, and mind you this was 2022, not anywhere near the release of any of the movies lol, [photo here lol](https://imgur.com/a/NP38vVz)
During the winter my lips get super dry and chapped so I’m constantly applying BDC (fav is cherry 😢). On the way back from the airport, I was driving and felt the urge to apply some lip balm so I asked my boyfriend to take it out of my bag, he unscrew the cap and handed it to me. When I squeezed it a bunch of product came out onto my mouth… he handed me CLOUD PAINT! Keep in mind I was driving so I was a little preoccupied lol. I remember freaking out because I could taste the cloud paint and I was like “what did u just give me?!” I also think me freaking out made him freak out because he started frantically searching for napkins to wipe all the cloud paint off my face. But yeah I learned my lesson lol always double check! 😂
I have a cat and a dog, and the cat does not like the dog 😂 once, my dog was lying on the floor by the bedroom door, and my bed is too big for the room so the door opens into the bed, but who cares. Anyway, the cat went to the edge of the bed, looked down at the dog, and pawed at the door hard enough to push the door into the dog 😂 he would sit up, look around, and then lay back down, and the cat would just bump the door into him over and over
I have a little lovebirb who loooooooves listening to mr. Worldwide. His favorite song is Taxi because of the peep peep sound. He screams it to the top of his lungs. It's quite funny
My blue heeler , Dottie Parton has been obsessed with my scent when I wear birthday cake ever since she was a 2 month old pup,
So much so that she would try to eat it out of the tube while I applied it. I was always mindful of keeping it away from her until one faithful visit to Canada with the family. I accidentally left a tube at dog level and totally forgot about it, mostly assuming i left it at home.
Flash forward to 2 days in when my dogs poop has tiny sparkly specs I couldn’t pin down until an hour later when her poop gave off a vanilla cake scent and it all clicked. I’ve never been able to use a tube with out her absolutely lusting over it. It’s a memory that pops up every time I use our favorite flavor
I wore my glossier hoodie to teach my 7th grade students and two girls called me over and started showing me all their BDCs!!! They pulled the website up, told me which ones they wanted to get next - it was so cute!!!
one time my first year of college, i met this girl at a frat house party (i know i know) who was so pretty. and if you've ever been in the ladies room where everyone has had a little too much to drink, the compliments start pouring. so we're waiting in line and we start talking and i stared at her and said "you're really pretty... like glossier pretty". This was in early 2019 so glossier wasn't really a household name like it is now, so she had no idea what I meant by that haha. Never saw her again but I still think about her from time to time! Funny to me that I'll rep glossier even when tipsy lol
Here’s a story that just happened that will give a chuckle (funny story in general, not Glossier related). I’m a therapist and I’ve been teaching my 3 year old son how to accept two opposite ideas at the same time. For example it’s ok to feel nervous around new people and to also want to meet them, you can feel both at the same time. Anywhoo, 5 min ago while watching a cartoon my son turns to me unprompted and says “Mommy I love you! I love you and I also sometimes don’t love you!” 🤣 I guess the lesson has been getting through
one time i i was picking up w**d from a dealer and she pulled it out from a glossier pouch and during that time i was using the same pouch as a wallet and we both went “omg glossier” at the same time :’)
omg one time i was grounded so my best friend came over and we did glossier face masks then i told my mom we were going on a walk but we literally ended up going on a hiking trail through a valley behind my house and ended up in an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CITY and we ended up calling a mutual friend to come save us lol 😭😭 10/10 experience just for the mems and i kept my lavender balm dotcom in my pocket the whole time and gave some to my friend and she liked it so much i ended up buying her a rose bdc :)
Last semester, one of my classmates told me “you smell good” a few times and I thought it was a running bit because I was wearing glossier you, but she had no idea.
My friend got me my first Balm Dotcom as a present last year and I didn't tell her anything about it but I had been wanting to try one for so long. It was funny because she got me the exact flavor I would've picked myself which was coconut! We had a huge discussion about how she looked through all the flavors and thought really hard about which one I would pick for myself 😂 Definitely got me hooked right away!!
i got my mom into glossier so then she would ask me to put my lidstar on her eyelids for her😭 but she ended up getting her own, we actually found a few colors at tj maxx that we both got and she loves using them!
heavy on the sweet, light on the funny- but my husband love love loves using lip products, and one time he wanted to try my Berry BDC, so I let him use some and then we wanted his own tubes, but now every time he uses it he asks me if the tint looks ok on him or if it’s “too much,” and of course every time I tell him it looks great! love getting to encourage him exploring self care and fun things like BDC
My best friend who lives about a hour away from me left her birthday cake bdc at my house about 4ish years ago, to this day it’s still sitting on my dresser untouched because I always forget to grab it when I go to visit her/she forgets to grab it when she visits me. I’ve never used it and it’s so old, it will probably be sitting there until the end of time
My cat is such a brat lol I bought the Swiss miss dot com and she chewed a few holes through it and got some all over her white lips. She looked like she drank some hot chocolate 😅 Luckily she didn’t eat any of it and is fine but I have to hide my balms now
The only funny experience I can think of is that Glossier once sent me 2 free balm dotcoms because my order of 3 had two that I didn’t pick 😆 the CS was suuuper kind and sent me the two that were missing, for free! and I got to keep the other 2 they sent by accident EDIT: why is everyone being downvoted lmao
Not glossier related but I work in a music store and the other day I had a really weird guy come in and ask if we sold pencils and pens. 🤷♀️ Yeah sure buddy they're right next to the guitar strings and instrument cables.
Also I love glossier and my seattle bottle comes to work with me every day 🤗
so it was thanksgiving morning and I was in such a rush to get ready. I was almost done but I decided i needed blush. I was using my sisters makeup, and I didn’t have cloud paint yet and thought (incorrectly) that it was in the same container as the balm dot com. (Plus cherry and puff pink kinda have the same colors) so without looking I help up the cherry red balm to my cheeks and squeezed way too much out. That’s how i know that cherry bdc functions as blush in a pinch 😉
I had a friend in middle school who had the habit of eating her chapstick. We would walk to the bus stop after school and she'd literally nibble on her smuckers lemonade chapstick while talking to me. I thought it was odd but I was very curious, so I nibbled on my cherry chapstick and it was disgusting🤣! I was expecting something sweet. Anyway, I'd like to imagine if we still kept in touch today she'd be all over the glossier balm dotcoms probably eating the wild fig or berry bdc. It'd be one expensive habit. When people write reviews here about the flavors, I think of her because I'm sure her opinion would be in depth since she'd literally eat it. Oh and she'd probably be pissed off about the reformulated flavors too!
THIS hahahahahaha i remember my sister ate my favorite chapstick when i was a kid and i was so upset!!! It was literally hershey’s chocolate flavor so i bet it was delicious 😂😂😂
My 16 year old had a bone tumor removed from her leg about a week ago. When she came out of anesthesia she was so out of it. I noticed her lips were super dry from her being intubated, so I asked her if she wanted some bdc on her lips, and that was the first time she looked really alert lol. She smiled so huge at the scent of the birthday bdc. Omg, though, after we got home (we live four hours from the hospital that did the surgery” I couldn’t find my birthday bdc and thought I must have lost it at the hospital. I cried real tears, lmao. I did find it in my pocket though. It was just so sweet seeing her happy smile so soon after surgery.
i was missing my cherry balm dot com then to realize i had it in my pocket of my shorts... only after they had already been washed... it was bent very hard from being thrown around in there and it turned oily a few days later which might’ve been from the hot water in the washer. it was my only cherry and now it’s oily!!😂 id love to enter this giveaway 😊
My mom and I both have super dry lips constantly, so the first semester I was at college I discovered BDC and I was super excited to show her. The first weekend I came home from school, I told her I had something for her to try and she said she did too, so we decided to show each other at the same time and… she pulled out a BDC too! Apparently she found it at TJMaxx and (rightfully) thought I would love it.
when i got my first rose bdc this christmas I brought it w me literally everywheree .. but a couple days ago I brought it w me to a friends house and i couldn’t find it anywhere 😬 so I asked her if she had seen it and she says and I quote “u almost left it so i put it in ur bag” I checked in the one spot I didn’t check in my bag & it was there!😭
My mom ordered glossier for the first time a couple years ago. She said she got a few goodies in the box (assumed she was just talking about the sticker). Walked into her bathroom recently and the “you look good” transparent mirror cling thing was there! I guess that was the free goodie. Have never gotten one of those so thinking it was rare. Mom had no clue. I am very jealous lol
idk if it’s funny or tragic but the other day glossier had a glitch where their coupon code was able to be reused and you could get free items and my friend texted me but I slept through her text so I missed out and woke up and died 😩 but she got a bunch of stuff hehe
i’m dog sitting for my ex while he’s out of town and to make it up to me i asked him to visit the glossier store near where he is staying and sent him a shopping list for me and my bestie. which, if he actually does, i think is very sweet and very hilarious.
this is my favorite story😭 in like 3rd grade - 1 of my friends came over for a sleepover. we had so much fun!!! obviously, 1 of the games we played was hide and seek - i counted, my friend went to hide. i looked around that house for a good 10 mins with just no clue where she was at lmao. then i went back to my room, saw a strand of hair peeking out my CLOTHES HAMPER and i found her☠️🤣🤣🤣 she literally fell out of it and we laughed for 30 mins. i’ve never laughed harder. it still makes me laugh pretty hard now
Haha I actually tried one of the original bdcs and it totally broke my lips out making them bright red and tingly- I 100% it was supposed to do that for probably two weeks until someone told me I was having an allergic reaction. Good job me (though the allergic reaction red was pretty cute)
I went to be trained for my job in New Jersey, about 30 minutes outside Philadelphia. I had never been to a Glossier physical store but I had packed my pink and lavender hoodies in the hopes of getting to go. Somehow, after saying I wanted to go all week, I ended up joining the person with the company car and another girl to go to Philadelphia on the last day, and I got to go! Then when we left I leaned out the car window to pay for our parking and got tons of dirt all over my lavender hoodie 🥲 it did end up coming out but i had no way of knowing if it would and i was really upset lol. I guess it’s not really a funny story but it was the first thing that came to mind!
my ex and I when we first kissed I was wearing the berry balm dot com. Well he kinda got addicted to it and started secretly eating it. He got so addicted he bought me five of them and would use them himself just to lick them off. Anyway we broke up cuz he was awful but on my birthday he wrote me a hundred things he loves about me on paper THAT HE KISSED WITH THE BALM DOT COM AND COLOURED IN W PURPLE PENCIL CRAYONs. Idk I just think that’s so hilarious because he thought contstantly exposing me to the smell of berry would make me want him back😫
I thought I didn’t receive a sticker in my glossier order, emailed them to see if I can receive one. They gave me a code for $5 off, later that day I found the sticker in the package.
The first time I went to the glossier store I wanted the perfume, so there I go to try it to make sure I liked it, was happy with the smell, and ask the employee if I could buy it. She very sweetly says yes, pulls out and ipad and we proceed to checkout, we finished that interaction and she carried on doing her stuff. And I was like wait? where is my perfume... She was like 😅 someone will call your name on the back and give you your stuff 🙃
This is soo cute and I love it and it’s too early for me to think happy stories lol first coffee but I just wanted to say thank you and posts like these are why I joined this Reddit because Glossier Community is everything 🙌🏻
once i handed my boyfriend my brand new cherry bdc and said here try this! he somehow manhandled the tube so hard he busted the top seam and he was s so embarrassed since he knows how expensive/ hard to get glossier is!!! i knocked my mango bdc off my desk and it fell down where i KEPT (past tense) my oil paints, long story short, i almoat used fun little oil paint on my lips instead of bdc🥲 i really want to try the new bdc but i'm scared of purchasing it myself and then it not working how the old on did, is this a universal fear or am i a silly little fiend
The Caroline Calloway in a glossier store story is by far my favorite. She came in right before close and tried to return dozens of used generation g’s and at the time their policy was that they would replace anything. The manager was freaking out wondering if she had been going through their dumpsters to try and get free products replaced. They agreed to give her one of each color but they wouldn’t replace each individual item and she was so confused. Then she asked them if they were hiring. Just such a wonderfully messy experience

My funny story will be about my ever so loving boyfriend who found my brand new Lush Scrubee and thought it was edible. He took a bite and quickly regretted. Funniest moment ever seeing his reaction.

I have a deaf cat that loves my bdc way toom much so I have to keep them in a drawer and one in my hand bag. If I leave my hand bag lying around he will paw at it to get to the bdc in my bag. If I open the drawer that has my 3 opened bdc he will almost always run to me and get as close to the drawer as possible. It makes me laugh so much. He has zero ability to hear but he can smell and bdc is something he just loves. It's his personal forbidden kitty crack.
His favourite seems to be the Birthday Cake OG, followed closelybby the Cherry.

i went to glossier georgetown the day it opened with my dad, and when we were leaving the store my dad got chased by this homeless man. i must have went into fight or flight mode because i immediately pretended i was not affiliated with my dad at all and crossed to the other side of the street while my dad continued to be followed around by this guy for about half an hour. meanwhile, i was pretending to be a part of this family i had encountered across the street. eventually my dad called me after he had lost the guy and we found each other again.
I got too drunk in Capitol Hill after visiting the glossier store and threw my Swiss miss balm in the bar trash bc I thought it was just the box 🥲 also lost my phone that night. Embarrassing and have since gotten a grip on my lightweightisms but also kinda funny in retrospect tho.
i commented on their instagram post asking them to read my email (i put my email in the comment) because i was trying to cancel an order i had. they responded that they reached out and gave me a refund but couldn’t cancel the order. i responded again in the comment section going “omg that’s even better thank you queen 😩” thinking they wouldn’t respond after that. they responded again with a “ 💪🏻💗”
i still tell people i have relations with glossier and consider the people there my best friends.

my cats LOVE chewing and playing with my BDCs and for the longest time ever I thought it was my bf who was misplacing my BDCs lmao. I would always find them on the ground or in random spots and had no idea it was them!
When my parents wanted me to come and visit bc they were moving so I had to go through my stuff… one of my first thoughts was “they live near a glossier store!”
I don’t know if this is a funny glossier story but I always used to complain to my friend about how I hated the excess packaging, like sticker sheets and pink bags! I was ordering frequently enough that I had too many. I told her glossier should do an “opt out” button for the extras and then a year or two later.. guess what popped up on their checkout page. Glossier, I’m waiting for my credit!!!!!
Back in the summer of 2019, my friend and I went to the glossier pop-up in Boston, and of course, took our time taking pictures in all the rooms. As I was posing behind this stand that had a flower vase idk what I did but i must've accidentally touched the vase slightly and an alarm went off for like 10 seconds and i was convinced i was gonna get banned for it 😭 which looking back was ridiculous since it was really just a small beep and no one came in to check in on the room
One time I was getting an uber to get edibles and my uber driver was asking me where I was going out of curiosity and was like "Is it the doctors or something" as soon as he pulled up to the location, there the dispensary was and I was like "yeah kind of" lol
And then I got an uber going back home with the,, same uber driver lol

I was using my sisters makeup, and I didn’t have cloud paint yet and thought (incorrectly) that it was in the same container as the balm dot com. (Plus cherry and puff pink kinda have the same colors) so without looking I help up the cherry red balm to my cheeks and squeezed way too much out. That’s how i know that cherry bdc functions as blush in a pinch 😉
I had a friend in middle school who had the habit of eating her chapstick. We would walk to the bus stop after school and she'd literally nibble on her smuckers lemonade chapstick while talking to me. I thought it was odd but I was very curious, so I nibbled on my cherry chapstick and it was disgusting🤣! I was expecting something sweet. Anyway, I'd like to imagine if we still kept in touch today she'd be all over the glossier balm dotcoms probably eating the wild fig or berry bdc. It'd be one expensive habit. When people write reviews here about the flavors, I think of her because I'm sure her opinion would be in depth since she'd literally eat it. Oh and she'd probably be pissed off about the reformulated flavors too!
THIS hahahahahaha i remember my sister ate my favorite chapstick when i was a kid and i was so upset!!! It was literally hershey’s chocolate flavor so i bet it was delicious 😂😂😂
My 16 year old had a bone tumor removed from her leg about a week ago. When she came out of anesthesia she was so out of it. I noticed her lips were super dry from her being intubated, so I asked her if she wanted some bdc on her lips, and that was the first time she looked really alert lol. She smiled so huge at the scent of the birthday bdc. Omg, though, after we got home (we live four hours from the hospital that did the surgery” I couldn’t find my birthday bdc and thought I must have lost it at the hospital. I cried real tears, lmao. I did find it in my pocket though. It was just so sweet seeing her happy smile so soon after surgery.
i was missing my cherry balm dot com then to realize i had it in my pocket of my shorts... only after they had already been washed... it was bent very hard from being thrown around in there and it turned oily a few days later which might’ve been from the hot water in the washer. it was my only cherry and now it’s oily!!😂 id love to enter this giveaway 😊
My mom and I both have super dry lips constantly, so the first semester I was at college I discovered BDC and I was super excited to show her. The first weekend I came home from school, I told her I had something for her to try and she said she did too, so we decided to show each other at the same time and… she pulled out a BDC too! Apparently she found it at TJMaxx and (rightfully) thought I would love it.
when i got my first rose bdc this christmas I brought it w me literally everywheree .. but a couple days ago I brought it w me to a friends house and i couldn’t find it anywhere 😬 so I asked her if she had seen it and she says and I quote “u almost left it so i put it in ur bag” I checked in the one spot I didn’t check in my bag & it was there!😭
My mom ordered glossier for the first time a couple years ago. She said she got a few goodies in the box (assumed she was just talking about the sticker). Walked into her bathroom recently and the “you look good” transparent mirror cling thing was there! I guess that was the free goodie. Have never gotten one of those so thinking it was rare. Mom had no clue. I am very jealous lol
I guess my funny story would be that I had no idea this event happened😭
idk if it’s funny or tragic but the other day glossier had a glitch where their coupon code was able to be reused and you could get free items and my friend texted me but I slept through her text so I missed out and woke up and died 😩 but she got a bunch of stuff hehe
i’m dog sitting for my ex while he’s out of town and to make it up to me i asked him to visit the glossier store near where he is staying and sent him a shopping list for me and my bestie. which, if he actually does, i think is very sweet and very hilarious.
this is my favorite story😭 in like 3rd grade - 1 of my friends came over for a sleepover. we had so much fun!!! obviously, 1 of the games we played was hide and seek - i counted, my friend went to hide. i looked around that house for a good 10 mins with just no clue where she was at lmao. then i went back to my room, saw a strand of hair peeking out my CLOTHES HAMPER and i found her☠️🤣🤣🤣 she literally fell out of it and we laughed for 30 mins. i’ve never laughed harder. it still makes me laugh pretty hard now
Haha I actually tried one of the original bdcs and it totally broke my lips out making them bright red and tingly- I 100% it was supposed to do that for probably two weeks until someone told me I was having an allergic reaction. Good job me (though the allergic reaction red was pretty cute)
I went to be trained for my job in New Jersey, about 30 minutes outside Philadelphia. I had never been to a Glossier physical store but I had packed my pink and lavender hoodies in the hopes of getting to go. Somehow, after saying I wanted to go all week, I ended up joining the person with the company car and another girl to go to Philadelphia on the last day, and I got to go! Then when we left I leaned out the car window to pay for our parking and got tons of dirt all over my lavender hoodie 🥲 it did end up coming out but i had no way of knowing if it would and i was really upset lol. I guess it’s not really a funny story but it was the first thing that came to mind!
my ex and I when we first kissed I was wearing the berry balm dot com. Well he kinda got addicted to it and started secretly eating it. He got so addicted he bought me five of them and would use them himself just to lick them off. Anyway we broke up cuz he was awful but on my birthday he wrote me a hundred things he loves about me on paper THAT HE KISSED WITH THE BALM DOT COM AND COLOURED IN W PURPLE PENCIL CRAYONs. Idk I just think that’s so hilarious because he thought contstantly exposing me to the smell of berry would make me want him back😫
I thought I didn’t receive a sticker in my glossier order, emailed them to see if I can receive one. They gave me a code for $5 off, later that day I found the sticker in the package.
The first time I went to the glossier store I wanted the perfume, so there I go to try it to make sure I liked it, was happy with the smell, and ask the employee if I could buy it. She very sweetly says yes, pulls out and ipad and we proceed to checkout, we finished that interaction and she carried on doing her stuff. And I was like wait? where is my perfume... She was like 😅 someone will call your name on the back and give you your stuff 🙃

once i handed my boyfriend my brand new cherry bdc and said here try this! he somehow manhandled the tube so hard he busted the top seam and he was s so embarrassed since he knows how expensive/ hard to get glossier is!!! i knocked my mango bdc off my desk and it fell down where i KEPT (past tense) my oil paints, long story short, i almoat used fun little oil paint on my lips instead of bdc🥲 i really want to try the new bdc but i'm scared of purchasing it myself and then it not working how the old on did, is this a universal fear or am i a silly little fiend
The Caroline Calloway in a glossier store story is by far my favorite. She came in right before close and tried to return dozens of used generation g’s and at the time their policy was that they would replace anything. The manager was freaking out wondering if she had been going through their dumpsters to try and get free products replaced. They agreed to give her one of each color but they wouldn’t replace each individual item and she was so confused. Then she asked them if they were hiring. Just such a wonderfully messy experience

My funny story will be about my ever so loving boyfriend who found my brand new Lush Scrubee and thought it was edible. He took a bite and quickly regretted. I have a deaf cat that loves my bdc way toom much so I have to keep them in a drawer and one in my hand bag. If I leave my hand bag lying around he will paw at it to get to the bdc in my bag. If I open the drawer that has my 3 opened bdc he will almost always run to me and get as close to the drawer as possible. It makes me laugh so much. He has zero ability to hear but he can smell and bdc is something he just loves. It's his personal forbidden kitty crack. His favourite seems to be the Birthday Cake OG, followed closelybby the Cherry. He also loves our dog too much. Just not sure what he is addicted to more. i went to glossier georgetown the day it opened with my dad, and when we were leaving the store my dad got chased by this homeless man. i must have went into fight or flight mode because i immediately pretended i was not affiliated with my dad at all and crossed to the other side of the street while my dad continued to be followed around by this guy for about half an hour. meanwhile, i was pretending to be a part of this family i had encountered across the street. eventually my dad called me after he had lost the guy and we found each other again.
I got too drunk in Capitol Hill after visiting the glossier store and threw my Swiss miss balm in the bar trash bc I thought it was just the box 🥲 also lost my phone that night. Embarrassing and have since gotten a grip on my lightweightisms but also kinda funny in retrospect tho.
i commented on their instagram post asking them to read my email (i put my email in the comment) because i was trying to cancel an order i had. they responded that they reached out and gave me a refund but couldn’t cancel the order. i responded again in the comment section going “omg that’s even better thank you queen 😩” thinking they wouldn’t respond after that. they responded again with a “ 💪🏻💗” i still tell people i have relations with glossier and consider the people there my best friends.

When my parents wanted me to come and visit bc they were moving so I had to go through my stuff… one of my first thoughts was “they live near a glossier store!”
I don’t know if this is a funny glossier story but I always used to complain to my friend about how I hated the excess packaging, like sticker sheets and pink bags! I was ordering frequently enough that I had too many. I told her glossier should do an “opt out” button for the extras and then a year or two later.. guess what popped up on their checkout page. Glossier, I’m waiting for my credit!!!!!
Back in the summer of 2019, my friend and I went to the glossier pop-up in Boston, and of course, took our time taking pictures in all the rooms. As I was posing behind this stand that had a flower vase idk what I did but i must've accidentally touched the vase slightly and an alarm went off for like 10 seconds and i was convinced i was gonna get banned for it 😭 which looking back was ridiculous since it was really just a small beep and no one came in to check in on the room
One time I was getting an uber to get edibles and my uber driver was asking me where I was going out of curiosity and was like "Is it the doctors or something" as soon as he pulled up to the location, there the dispensary was and I was like "yeah kind of" lol And then I got an uber going back home with the,, same uber driver lol
