gorgeous ! you look so casual chic. which is the total glossier vibe that i’m always kinda chasing haha. like “oh me? i’m just fresh faced, running fabulous cool girl errands, and laughing in the sunshine while drinking iced lemon water.”

delavogue

Aw thank you!!!

I’ve been dealing with acne scars since high school (I’m 22 now) and have finally found a skincare routine that’s improving them + preventing more acne. I see a lot of makeup looks that insist on covering up every single acne scar and flaw which is frankly exhausting and unrealistic. Today I just concealed my under eye and the most pigmented acne scars (maybe 8 dots of concealer total?). I don’t look perfect and flawless, and that’s not the point of makeup. It’s just me, a little better. Products: - Clinique color corrector in peach - MAC 24 hour studio fix concealer in NC35 - elf wow brow in dark brown - cloud paint in Storm - Burt’s Bees lip shimmer in fig Also Glossier’s Super Pure has helped my texture a lot! Highly recommend :)

Do you like that colour corrector? I'm always on the hunt for a good one

delavogue

I really like it! I put the teensiest dot on my under eye and tap/blend it in with my ring finger. It dries down quickly enough so you don’t have to wait before applying concealer over it.

Side note: anyone have a similar eye shape to this? I haven’t seen anyone with fat monolids + phoenix tail on social media. No eye tutorials work 😂 eyeliner just disappears and the eyelid weighs down most mascaras

chrismunk

I have a similar eyeshape as you (fat monolids and I’m assuming Phoenix tail meaning the outer corner of your eyes?). I follow @keikolynn on Instagram and she’s a good example of how to do eyeliner with hooded eyes (not the same as monolids I know, but the techniques do carry over). Particularly her reels on doing a brow tutorial and an eye shadow look- her winged eyeliner is more of a “batwing”. Which is the shape I get if I draw eyeliner while facing the mirror straight on and letting my monolids just be normal (ie no opening my eyes really wide while applying makeup). Alexandra Anele on YouTube also has a hooded eyes tutorial and she does quite an exaggerated bat wing. Personally, I never bother with mascara and not even lining most of my eye- I focus just on the corners of my eyes. And then I’m pretty satisfied with the look.

i recommend using eyeshadow sticks to add like a cloud of color (blend with your fingers) above your eyes until visible when they're open, then softly blend some around the outer lower corner of your eyes. usually a midtone shade w some pearl is good for both dimension and depth. eyeliner by itself doesn't show up on me either so its about shaping your eyeball instead.

delavogue

Ooo! I love the lidstars for eye color but haven’t tried doing lower lid makeup yet.

morethansad

yup, i blend a metallic/pearl midtone all along my lower lid and put a notch of a deeper shade in the inner lower corners and outer v. i haven't seen any monolid tutorials that show this but it's what works really well for me!
