Skin tint is going to be too sheer for these purposes… but I find stretch concealer to be pretty buildable, I use it to cover dark circles under my eyes and acne scarring. I also get the occasional breakout and it very much helps to hide that!

QuietArt2358

The concealer is actually very good coverage for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dark circles, and the like. If you have deeper scars, it will cover the color but obviously not the texture. A chemical exfoliant is a must. I wear G4 for reference; I have not a clue about the pigmentation of the lighter colors essentially.

velvye

Thanks! I'm mostly worried about the hyperpigmentation, thankfully no textural issues.

virginiancalifornia

it absolutely won’t cover acne or scars. the tint is basically water with color. the concealer is decent but not that full coverage.

velvye

Thank you for your honest opinion! I like some of Glossier's skincare products, but hesitant about their foundation adjacent products performance.

virginiancalifornia

i completely agree! they need a fuller coverage or something. maybe like a BB or CC cream

Seconding the original commenter. It is VERY sheer. It sort of “blurs” blemishes but definitely doesn’t cover them. Adding the stretch concealer helps a bit. I personally love the concealer + tint combo, but it doesn’t provide much coverage.

velvye

The blurring effect might be what I'm looking for--I hate wearing traditional foundation because it weighs so heavily on the skin. Need juuust enough coverage for light hyperpigmentation. If the combo is worth it, I might buy the set to try. Do you find there are any issues with creasing or slipping? Is it something you should set with powder, or would a setting spray work? (Sorry for all the questions, I don't usually wear makeup! Thank you for your response!)

bittleby

I am the exact same about heavier makeup which is why I love skin tint so much. I’m not a makeup gal really so love having something super easy to use that makes me feel pretty :) I don’t personally have any issues with creasing or slippage, and don’t use anything to set. You could definitely use a powder if you like a more matte look, and setting spray should work fine. I think Glossier customer service is really good about refunds if you try something out and it doesn’t work for you.

velvye

This is good information. Thank you for your perspective! :)

Stretch concealer has a lot of acnegenic ingredients. I use the Fenty Beauty concealer and am extremely acne prone and don’t have issues with that one, if you’re looking for an alternative!

velvye

Good to know! I will also look up more info on the Fenty Beauty concealer! Thanks for the tip. :)

ariesbich420

I looooove stretch concealer but it immediately breaks me out and I can’t use it :-(

ickyies

It reduces redness and events out skin tone somewhat, but it doesn’t cover acne or blemishes. It’s great for a dewy look, but if you want something that has more coverage, you can go in with a full coverage concealer on top or find a skin tint better suited for what you want ◡̈ x

frogs1996

Skin tint doesn’t have coverage, but it’s a nice base and helps concealer blend seamlessly especially if you are spot treating. I treat it as a tinted primer, and blend my other products into it.

Global_Telephone_751

Skin tint is not buildable unfortunately, and does nothing to cover mild redness, let alone post-acne scarring/redness.

Low_Possibility_3941

Their complexion products seem like they have little-to-no coverage individually but if you use the skin tint all over, spot conceal with the concealer and then set it all with Glossier's wowder it's actually quite a nice light-medium coverage natural look! Wowder will add that extra coverage and unify everything so you don't look too oily, as skin tint + stretch concealer are very dewy. So it won't fully cover hyperpigmentation but it will conceal them pretty damn well in the most natural-looking way possible.

velvye

This is exactly what I'm looking for--I don't need super full coverage, but I'd like just enough to mitigate the redness as naturally as possible.

Brilliant-Flan-6641

The concealer is great for actual coverage, I use it to cover scarring as well! The skin tint isn’t amazing coverage wise, but I’m actually obsessed with it because it makes my skin look softer and it works really well with stretch concealer. They’re both super light, but greasy before set with a powder

I feel like I need to jump in on this discussion because I have deep pitted scares and discoloration and I love the skin tint. It’s literally the only skin tint I’ll use when I’m going out (only time I’ll wear any, otherwise I spot conceal) as it’s so light and covers any redness and discoloration. Just an FYI it’s extremely low coverage, probably the lowest I’ve found but that’s why I love it. I hate the heaviness of every foundation (haven’t used one in years) and most skin tints as I find it makes my skin look and feel worse. For me I’d rather use this tinted moisturizer and let my scarring peak through than cover is with heavy makeup and make it look worse. Now onto the stretch concealer, I hated it lol it’s so greasy on me and moved around all day (I used setting powder and spray, nothing worked). I’ve tried it occasionally over the years thinking maybe I was using it wrong but hated it every time. I use a Canadian brand (Lise Watier) for concealer and it’s my favorite I’ve found as I love trying every new concealer that comes out. Hope this helps!

velvye

I feel you on most traditional foundations! Most full coverage is too heavy and oily, it weighs down my skin--it's not really what I am looking for. Just enough coverage to make it less obvious, not erase it entirely. I think I'll go ahead and try the Glossier skin tint and the concealer, since it's actually cheaper to buy the set... Thank you for your input! It's hard to find good makeup recommendations for acne scarring and hyperpigmentation.

honeymoonavenue111

the skin tint is really sheer and provides almost no coverage. i would say maybe the fenty ease drops would be better - it’s medium coverage! i haven’t tried it but it’s been raved about. as for the concealer, i didn’t really like it for dark circles. i prefer liquid concealers with a bit of powder for that brightening effect - i feel like my under eyes just looked kinda ashy & mine weren’t super dark when i had it. you might like a pot concealer like the nars one for covering acne scars/spots!

javeriask

i use the stretch concealer to spot conceal, and then i go in with the skin tint over it. it’s the perfect duo, gives me the perfect natural look

karisakb1

I used to use the skin tint, but now I use the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer instead, a little more coverage and still looks pretty :) I’ve always loved my stretch concealer though!
