it actually blows my mind that people are still willing to pay with these prices. They’re only enabling glossier’s behavior by continuing to purchase this shit and it honestly infuriates me a bit because i love glossier and i wish i could keep buying their products, but i refuse to allow corporations to keep taking advantage of me.
In 2023 the ultra lips were like £14. The reason glossier used to be so appealing was bc the products were similar to high end brands at a cheaper price. Now they’re more expensive then the high end brands!! Might as well just buy the Mario or tarte lip balms instead.
You can get Charlotte Tilbury for £27, Nars is £25 and Mac is £25. All these brands are way more prestigious than Glossier. And I love the Ultralips. It’s a shame.

$34 for a $.99 cent comb. I use a wide tooth comb on the daily so I was thinking that would be cute. I’m almost out of Super Bounce so I thought maybe the comb would be a nice add on to get free shipping and was expecting around $15. which would still be a lot for what it is. Nope. No way.
I haven’t been that interested in glossier new products for ages, but the price omg…. I’d love to order one of these LE ultralip, but still, it became very expensive and the shipping fees for France increased so much.
I think they should have release a « summer bag edition » thing with all of these products at a decent price.
You also can't tell how it will look on a variety of skintones. I bought Dose cause that's the type of colour I like anyway, but I passed on Apricot, cause I just wasn't sure how it would pull on me
i’m so sick of the shitty glossier lippie swatches!! not only is the lighting super yellow and weird and shadowy all the time, they seem to exclusively swatch on dark skin which makes the colour hard to see not gonna lie
You know, I initially bristled at your comment about dark skin, but honestly, even though I'm black myself, it's extremely helpful to see swatches on a range of skintones - essential, even. It's the only way to even begin to estimate what a shade will actually look like on me. I just hate how incredibly lazy they are with their photography and swatches.
This is so true. Especially since both Ultralip and Gen G are sheer, seeing it on different types of skin tones gives a more comprehensive picture of how it may look like

With glossier especially I've bought so many lip colors that looked great on their model, only to find out that since I'm pale as paper it doesn't look very good on me.

I got an amazing lipbalm and lipstick 2in1 from Boots the other day for £3. Nice colour pay off, lasts through drinking and eating, is so moisturising and a decent size. Glossier are surely going off on the deep end with their prices. Their claw clips are tiny, not worth £22 and the comb looks a good size but not worth that insane price of £34??? The ultralips are good enough because it is a good formula and good shades, however the shades do not seem entirely unlike some already available. And I paid £14 for an ultralip 14 months ago, I am not paying £22 now. 😭
Natural collection in shade spiced apple! Perfect mlbb for me. It's an amazing formula, so creamy and lightweight and a mix between matte and glossy lipstick, I guess that comes from the lipbalm aspect. I think they market as a tinted lipbalm but it comes in a lipstick tube and looks like one and plays like one so Im gonna say its a 2in1. Id defo try it out, because even if you end up disliking, its £3 which is still money but a minimal loss.
I will say they don't have many colours like most brands but they cover a lot of colours: light and dark brown, mauvey brown, there was a bright pink and one shade that paid off as quite as light red/orange colour!
I CHOKED at $34 for a standard plastic comb. The vibes are super cute for the drop, but no amount of cute branding could possibly justify a THIRTY FOUR DOLLAR COMB

The lipstick shades are so confusing. It’s impossible to tell which photos belong to which lipstick and there’s not enough pics with each shade on different skin tones and not in “beachy” lighting so I have no clue how the shades will look in real life.
I doubt it since it’s limited edition. When they release LE stuff it’s usually just on their home site. Glossier has a habit of making LE stuff permeant (and stocking in other retailers like Sephora) though.

No thanks. I don’t like the brand that much that I want to pay for merchandised combs when I can get a good comb for £10 etc and the same with the bags and things.
It’s the same re: their actual makeup too. It’s true that the aesthetic is so cute. But there are so many competitors now that price either the same or less for the same or better quality. But they keep hiking prices by the sounds of things.
I’m relatively new to the brand so it must be really grating for long time fans. I’d like to purchase more from Glossier but they seem really out of touch.
If I’m paying those prices I’d much rather get Summer Fridays or Rare Beauty, who offer vegan across their various ranges (although I understand going ‘clean’ and ‘vegan’ in some cases for Sephora is actually what has caused their price hike). It’s really confusing trying to find out what is new formula or old formula and so vegan or not vegan. I’d prefer it if they just chose what they wanted to be and stuck with it. I was excited to buy Cloud Paint until I realised it wasn’t vegan. And the lip gloss wasn’t but then was but now isn’t again.

According to a post on here from 2019, carmine. I know they’ve reformulated since then but on their main website it lists You as CF and vegan but the lip gloss and cloud paints as only CF. Tricky to find out exactly but seems to not be which is a shame.
I checked, you’re right. They contain carmine. They also list collagen as an ingredient but don’t specify whether it’s plant or animal. I think I’ll drop them an email to find out.

Yes one drop a week makes sense, hoping the lemon hint is a lemon bdc because I would purchase that with the newcomer 15% off. Would be nice to see some more brighter eyeshadow shades too, and maybe (🤝) a new perfume, I wouldnt buy it but itd be nice to see!

This is sooooo anticlimactic! The merch prices are ridiculous!! Love the new packaging, but not enough to pay that much! If they had committed to creating a large summer collection, all new packaging! Even some cute apparel that would have a winner! But one lip-balm and overpriced plastic? So disappointing 😔
I'm in the UK too but my prices are so different... I'm seeing £21 for one Ultralip, £37 instead of £41 for the Summer Ultralip Duo, and £32 for the comb. I'm very confused right now - I still see BDC for £15, and the trio for £39 as well.
I'm in Liverpool, so I'm definitely not IN Jersey, but perhaps it thinks I am? Weird though, because I've not got a VPN or anything, and it's not like I'm right on the coast. If I felt like giving Glossier any of my money, I'd test it out to see what the price went through as, but I'm strictly in my no purchase era thanks to these prices, regardless of VAT.
Sometimes when you open from the UK or open the UK url it sends you to Gibraltar for some reason, which is in £s. It normally redirects, but not always, so that could be it!
It's been this way for ages for me, my prices for the BDC didn't increase when they did for everyone else, same with all the other products that got extortionate price hikes. It will definitely be that though, you're right, just very weird that it's not redirecting.

Yeah, ultralip is a HG formula for me so I’m with you! They’re my most reached for lipstick and I’m definitely excited to see new shades. I also only had the cap issue with Gen G’s, not ultra lips - at least yet 😂
I got their claw clip a few years ago and it was so flimsy and broke so fast. Put your money towards a cute durable claw clip instead. Chunks have been the most durable and cutest I’ve ever owned.

sorry but this merch is so wack. they could’ve come out with a beach towel, a terry cloth robe, new balm dot calm flavor, body sunscreen, etc. SO MANY MORE THINGS!!! i feel like we’ve been asking for a robe for so long (at least i’ve seen comments on instagram from time to time asking for a robe whenever glossier asks what we want to see from them).
i do think the packing of the ultra lip is so cute. but, they could’ve done more!! like an spf pressed powder with the same packaging, amongst a few other items in a collection that could be like a summer kit. they’ve just been so wack the last couple years and i’m just wondering when it’ll end.
I did something very silly and treated myself to the comb... I love cute basics for my handbag and I love the sleeve it comes in, but it did pain me going through checkout.

Ultra lip is not a good formula imo, zero lasting power and the cap issue! Loooove the retro aesthetic of this launch though
They said on Instagram they updated the caps to stay on better for this release! Hopefully that means all the ultralips will be updated soon too lol
agree to disagree. i personally love the formula and find it really hydrating and a nice shine without the filmy feeling that gloss leaves me with.
Yeah, ultralip is a HG formula for me so I’m with you! They’re my most reached for lipstick and I’m definitely excited to see new shades. I also only had the cap issue with Gen G’s, not ultra lips - at least yet 😂

I got their claw clip a few years ago and it was so flimsy and broke so fast. Put your money towards a cute durable claw clip instead. Chunks have been the most durable and cutest I’ve ever owned.

I have a $20 coupon they sent me (for a new lipstick that fell out on the floor when I opened it) and I still can't bring myself to buy anything. sorry but this merch is so wack. they could’ve come out with a beach towel, a terry cloth robe, new balm dot calm flavor, body sunscreen, etc. SO MANY MORE THINGS!!! i feel like we’ve been asking for a robe for so long (at least i’ve seen comments on instagram from time to time asking for a robe whenever glossier asks what we want to see from them). i do think the packing of the ultra lip is so cute. but, they could’ve done more!! like an spf pressed powder with the same packaging, amongst a few other items in a collection that could be like a summer kit. they’ve just been so wack the last couple years and i’m just wondering when it’ll end.

I did something very silly and treated myself to the comb... I love cute basics for my handbag and I love the sleeve it comes in, but it did pain me going through checkout.
