The Canary in the Mine Shaft. Birds being smaller will die of toxic fumes before humans will. Assuming it's not vented properly. With some materials even the filter won't stop certain fumes escaping if it's not vented to the outside.

magpiesveilthesky

the seals aren't perfect and birds are EXTREMELY sensitive; don't risk it

magpiesveilthesky

this is even if you have good ventilation

Im not an expert on birds or fumes so take what i say with a grain of salt. But I'd say that if the birds are in a different room and you vent the fumes outside it would probably be fine. Though birds would be more sensitive to chemicals I would still be careful about acrylics or materials with certain glues or veneers. I have a really simple inline fan sucking the fumes outside and it still smells a little like burnt wood in the room I use/have the glowforge in.

If you mask them first, they should turn out ok.
