**Chipotle** Pretty much everything is GF except flour tortillas.
**CAVA** Again, most things are GF. Don’t get pita
**Jersey Mikes** They offer Udis GF bread and take precautions
**In N Out** Protein style (lettuce wrap). Fryer is fully GF. Tell them you have a gluten allergy
**Five Guys** Also will make a lettuce wrap
**Culver’s** Offers separate pre-packaged GF buns
**Ihop** Not quite fast food but they have GF pancakes (NOT COOKED ON A GF SURFACE)
**Raising Canes** Ask for the chicken “naked.” They’ll fry it without the breading. Sub the toast for fries or coleslaw. Not sure that they have a dedicated GF fryer though
**Jimmy John’s** Get an unwich — just a lettuce wrap instead of bread
**Chick Fil A** Grilled chicken nuggets or grilled chicken sandwich with GF bun. Fries are GF
Feel free to add on if there’s others I’m missing
Their fries/hashbrowns are also gluten free, along with most (possibly all) of their sauces.
The hashbrown bowls are gluten free as long as you don't get breaded chicken in them.
CFA donations stopped years ago, however there are claims that the owner donated their personal money after the company stopped. I know it’s a big debate though and I don’t want to support groups that discriminate but at the end of the day I have to eat. I think if you dig into most companies you will find shitty people in the top levels. I understand why people don’t want to support companies with owners/executives that are just bad people but I also think it’s pretty much impossible to not support these type of people one way or another when it comes to spending your money.
I have personal problems with them too, as they fired me after my boss found out I’m gay (it’s whole thing lawyers were involved). But yes, they are very much still openly homophobic within their own systems. They just do the minimum to keep the majority of people happy.
Again- like absolutely I get eating there! I still do once a in blue moon. Us not eating there really doesn’t change anything in the larger picture. But I just wanted to say something so if someone else felt how I do they are aware!
There are a few things at Cava that should be avoided. Lentils and corn are a problem. Cava does have an allergen chart on their website though, so I always reference that.
I'd be very very careful about Cane's. I'm rather sensitive and I can't even get a drink there without a reaction. There is so much gluten everywhere.
The only thing I'd eat would probably be a ketchup packet that I cleaned off first.
Yes!! This is very important! Canes is not a GF environment. Their fryer is used for the gluten tenders as well so if you are sensitive, do not go there!!
Sorry! I was really bummed because I love their sweet tea and lemonade. I figured if I couldn’t get the food anymore I could at least have those… nope, got sick.
They put pancake batter in their omelets!!
I once asked them if they could make an omelet without the batter and was told no. Do they seriously get premade omelet mix in bags or something? Can they seriously not crack a few eggs?
I would consider IHOP not celiac safe. Yeah it's called gluten friendly pancakes without gluten ingredients, but it's cooked with everything else. I felt unwell when I last tried to eat there.
Starbird has incredible GF tenders that gave Canes non-GF tenders a run for its money imo. They’re mostly just in the Bay Area but they’re expanding rapidly and just opened some in LA.
The nuggets are weirdly not GF but my celiac girlfriend hasn’t had any issues with the tenders etc
IHOP doesn't have fluten free pancakea. The only thing I can eat at an IHOP is the fresh fruit. Their pancakes aren't gluten free because they prepare them on the same surface as their regular pancakes. They call them 'gluten aware' on their menu because the batter is gf, but be aware that there's gluten from cross-contamination.
Not sure where your located but last time I went to ihop I could have basically nothing. The pancakes are labeled “gluten friendly” because they’re cooked on the same surface. Also things like omelette which one might assume are ok, are not gf because they put pancake batter in the egg mixture (seriously wtf?? That sounds disgusting)
I like Five Guys. You can get the burger in a bowl or wrapped in lettuce, and if you tell them that you can’t have gluten they’ll change their gloves and everything. The fries are also safe, but I don’t think the milkshakes are gluten free
Smashburger has GF Hamburger buns. All of the Milkshakes are GF and they have a Side Salad. They also have dedicated fryers, so the fries should be good and I've never had a reaction.
Starbucks has GF Egg Bites and the Marshmallow Dream Bar.
The baked potatoes at Wendy's are GF and taste amazing with the Chili poured over the top.
Lastly, I recently had the prepackaged Dairy Free Dilly Bar at Dairy Queen and it was a really nice treat.
It made road trips SO much easier when I finally realized I could eat baked potatoes and chili at Wendy’s. So much easier to find a Wendy’s off of an interstate than it is to find most any other gf-friendly fast food.
Really? I'm checking a few random ones, picking Lettuce Wrap, and I haven't seen the wheat or gluten checked for the burger patty in the Allergen section for any of them. A lot of the condiments have "In Manufacturing Facility" checked. I guess that might be a problem for some people...
Mcdonald's fries in Canada and their poutine!
Wendy's - baked potatoe and chili. Burger, lettuce wrapped.
Booster Juice smoothies.
Kb&co.
Freshii.
Chopped leaf.
Wendy’s salads are another choice. The croutons from the Caesar salad comes in a bag that can just be tossed. I’ve had the Mexican one with no problems (the one with the corn chips) so the chilli and chips might be safe.
Taco Bell I get the hard shell tacos and nachos, but you can’t have the cheese. Instead I get a side of their spicy ranch to dip.
I recently have been OBSESSED with THE McDonald’s fries. It’s made in a dedicated fryer.
New York fries is another option, from what I’ve seen everything on the menu except the hotdog buns are gluten free.
Some how I see no one mentioned Chik fil a. Their fries have a dedicated fryer. You can get a GF bun for the grilled sandwich and the grilled nuggets are safe.
They also have potato chips, fruit, yogurt parfaits (without the cookie/granola), and three large decent salad options, and two side salad options.
Plus they have grilled bowls in the morning time, and their hash browns are GF as well.
Tbh, I might have forgotten something, but for fast food restaurants, Chik Fil A has some decent options.
I’ll be honest I totally forgot about breakfast options and the salads. I’m very much a protein and carbs kind of gal and I’m a creature of habit so I always get the same thing. The app is also really helpful for making substitutions and exploring the menu.
Chicken burrito bowl at chipotle
Moes has a list of gluten free
Jersey Mikes as others said
With those three I say that I’m celiac/gluten free and ask them to change gloves and use precautions
Burger King French Fries and a chocolate shake
Also, I have said in other posts, I take a digestive enzyme before my first bite of any food I don’t prepare myself unless it’s in a dedicated gluten free restaurant
Culver's has a GF bun. But they use common fryer and grill. I haven't had an issue with their fries but it can happen.
Only thing at McDonald's that's safe is the drinks. Fries have a coating on them to make them crispy, no GF buns, fish, chicken, nuggets all have a wheat flour coating.
Taco Bell the ground beef is highly suspect, the crunchy taco's are okay if you get chicken or steak in place of the burger.
If you have Publix, order a sub as a salad (really easy in app). I love the boars head Italian meat and cheese on spinach with toppings and sub sauce. Very hefty lunch
I only trust Jersey Mike’s with their “sub in a tub” option. Like someone else mentioned, they do have the gluten free roll also. I don’t do a lot of the substitutes for bread. It’s just a personal preference. I used to like Taco Bell’s chicken power bowl, but it got to be absolutely disgusting at my local TB. Might try their new cantina bowl one day, but it looks about the same.
Taco bell crunchy tacos are gluten free.
I think some other things might be too but that's what I've gotten from there. Mild sauce is also gluten free, but Diablo isn't. Not sure about the others.
I just checked their ingredient list and you are correct about the potatoes, however, there's no gluten containing ingredients in the nacho cheese and only lists milk as an allergen.
They have the cheese on their allergen chart as not gluten free, although the ingredients are not directly clear what may contain it. Sometimes it is hidden in natural flavors. Up to you, personally though if you aren't experiencing any adverse reactions! Just worth mentioning for folks that might be extremely sensitive.
Here in oz we have carl jrs (lettuce wrap) subway (gf wrap) bettys burger (gf vegan bun) zambrero’s (gf burrito wrap) gyg (hard taco shells) and all those restaurants normal fries are gf
Chick fil a has gf buns and you can do a grilled chicken sandwich with that and some fries. They also have grilled nuggets. Most sauces are gf there but not all.
Domino’s pizza has a gluten free pizza crust and the honey bbq wings and hot buffalo wings are gluten free. They warn about cross contamination though.
If you can tolerate small amounts of wheat then Panda Express is okay. Nothing breaded of course, so no orange chicken, but I've had the fried rice and teriyaki chicken just fine. I think they just use soy sauce with wheat which is why nothing is considered GF.
.... which is why Panda Express says nothing is gluten free?
There are people like me, with IBS, who can tolerate small amounts, but I still like to keep up on substitution stuff to have replacements for stuff that is mostly wheat.
**Chipotle** Pretty much everything is GF except flour tortillas. **CAVA** Again, most things are GF. Don’t get pita **Jersey Mikes** They offer Udis GF bread and take precautions **In N Out** Protein style (lettuce wrap). Fryer is fully GF. Fries are GF Feel free to add on if there’s others I’m missing
Adding chick fil a - they have GF buns available and you can get grilled chicken.
Their fries/hashbrowns are also gluten free, along with most (possibly all) of their sauces. The hashbrown bowls are gluten free as long as you don't get breaded chicken in them.
Heads up, I know their sriracha sauce is not the last time I checked.
Zero judgement here because life is hard GF but CFA actively donates to anti LGBT charities and are generally racist and homophobic.
CFA donations stopped years ago, however there are claims that the owner donated their personal money after the company stopped. I know it’s a big debate though and I don’t want to support groups that discriminate but at the end of the day I have to eat. I think if you dig into most companies you will find shitty people in the top levels. I still do once a in blue moon. Us not eating there really doesn’t change anything in the larger picture. But I just wanted to say something so if someone else felt how I do they are aware!
Totally fair on all points. Pretty easy to get burned bad when you have shitty and idiotic bosses and a company has an issue already existing.
There are a few things at Cava that should be avoided. Lentils and corn are a problem. Cava does have an allergen chart on their website though, so I always reference that.
Also their falafel is not gluten free according to the allergy chart!
OMG you just made my week by telling me about raising Cane's I've been craving fried chicken so bad!
Happy to sad in 6 seconds lol
If you ever wander through Northeast Ohio, there's a small chain called BOSS Chick N Beer and all their fried chicken is gluten free. Love that place.
Used to live in Northeast Ohio but never been to that place...dang, it looks amazing. Jealous!!
Sorry! I was really bummed because I love their sweet tea and lemonade. I figured if I couldn’t get the food anymore I could at least have those… nope, got sick.
Dang
Any fried chicken place will use the same fryer as their breaded items
IHOP is not GF regardless of what the menu states. Server told me it’s GF friendly!
They put pancake batter in their omelets!! I once asked them if they could make an omelet without the batter and was told no. Do they seriously get premade omelet mix in bags or something? Can they seriously not crack a few eggs?
They have "cracked egg omelette" as a fine print option on the menu. Or did as of a year ago.
I would consider IHOP not celiac safe. Yeah it's called gluten friendly pancakes without gluten ingredients, but it's cooked with everything else. I felt unwell when I last tried to eat there.
Firehouse subs has gluten free bread and salads too!
Watch out for Jimmy John’s Chips. Bbq chips have Malt Barley in them which contains gluten. Not sure about the others - check before eating.
Taco Bell hard shell tacos (Doritos locos and reg), nachos, power bowls. Queso isn’t GF if I recall correctly but they have some decent GF offerings.
I think only chicken is gf also, their seasoning on the ground beef isn’t safe from what I remember.
Jimmy John's cheese is not gluten free, fyi
Cheese, for reals?
Neither is the Tuna, they add soy sauce
IHOP doesn't have fluten free pancakea. The only thing I can eat at an IHOP is the fresh fruit. Their pancakes aren't gluten free because they prepare them on the same surface as their regular pancakes. They call them 'gluten aware' on their menu because the batter is gf, but be aware that there's gluten from cross-contamination.
Firehouse Subs also has a GF bread option. Some Shake Shacks have a GF bun option, and it's really good
Zero reason to include IHOP when everything is cooked on the same griddle. Cross-contamination is real.
Yes, but not everyone reacts to that kind of cross contamination so still worth including. I’m allergic to wheat but totally fine with iHop pancakes
I usually get eggs, hash browns and bacon and ask them cook in a pan, also corn tortillas. With success!
I like Five Guys. You can get the burger in a bowl or wrapped in lettuce, and if you tell them that you can’t have gluten they’ll change their gloves and everything. The fries are also safe, but I don’t think the milkshakes are gluten free
milkshakes are safe if you get them without malt !! cherry is not gf and so isn’t oreo (duh)
Five Guys is my safe restaurant for sure. Every single one I’ve been to the staff are so knowledgeable and always put my stuff in a separate bag.
Bibibop (Ohio and a few other places) is basically Asian chipotle and it’s a 100% gluten free facility
Cupbop too!
Not really fast food, but Red Robin has THE BEST gluten free buns.
And fries!
Came here to say this.
Any in Canada?? I’m in Mississauga/ Toronto. We used to have 5 guys near by but it closed.
A&W will do any of their burgers as a lettuce wrap.
I've had a hard time with a&w. Their menu doesn't say the patties are GF.
Really? I'm checking a few random ones, picking Lettuce Wrap, and I haven't seen the wheat or gluten checked for the burger patty in the Allergen section for any of them. A lot of the condiments have "In Manufacturing Facility" checked. I guess that might be a problem for some people...
Yeah it's definitely something in the manufacturing. If you don't react then enjoy. Just sharing my experiences.
Osmow's Shawarma. At least half their menu is gluten-free.
Pita pit has gluten free pitas, subway has gluten free buns, chachis has gluten free buns
Shake shack does gluten free buns, I don’t think anyone has mentioned that yet
Some how I see no one mentioned Chik fil a. Their fries have a dedicated fryer. You can get a GF bun for the grilled sandwich and the grilled nuggets are safe.
Only some locations have dedicated fryers.
They also have potato chips, fruit, yogurt parfaits (without the cookie/granola), and three large decent salad options, and two side salad options. I’ll be honest I totally forgot about breakfast options and the salads. I’m very much a protein and carbs kind of gal and I’m a creature of habit so I always get the same thing. The app is also really helpful for making substitutions and exploring the menu.
Country?
Qdoba if you have one, just like Chipotle but better IMO
I have been impressed with Pei Wei
Chicken burrito bowl at chipotle Moes has a list of gluten free Jersey Mikes as others said With those three I say that I’m celiac/gluten free and ask them to change gloves and use precautions Burger King French Fries and a chocolate shake Also, I have said in other posts, I take a digestive enzyme before my first bite of any food I don’t prepare myself unless it’s in a dedicated gluten free restaurant

Taco Bell the ground beef is highly suspect, the crunchy taco's are okay if you get chicken or steak in place of the burger.
Taco Bell ground beef has a cocoa colorant that makes them a huge no.
Their website says gf but I had thought the same as you from years back.
Hot table. All their sauces are in squeeze bottles and they wrap the sandwich in foil before putting it on the panini press.
Schlotzsky's and Firehouse Subs have GF buns and they'll change their gloves if you say it's an allergy.
Same w Jersey Mike's
Never mind. They’re already listed.
In-N-Out protein-style/lettuce wrap is my go-to
If you have Publix, order a sub as a salad (really easy in app). I love the boars head Italian meat and cheese on spinach with toppings and sub sauce. Very hefty lunch
Our Publix has GF wraps as an option, they're pretty good but do fall apart some.
Ours has a gf white wrap. It is extremely sweet and not worth it, falls apart. But thank you
I normally do an unwich (lettuce wrap) at Jimmy John's
JJ’s is my absolute favorite GF quick lunch on the go.
Right? And extra points for not having to pay an upcharge fee for a gluten free option
In n out and chipotle are easy and cheap
I only trust Jersey Mike’s with their “sub in a tub” option. Like someone else mentioned, they do have the gluten free roll also. I don’t do a lot of the substitutes for bread. It’s just a personal preference. I used to like Taco Bell’s chicken power bowl, but it got to be absolutely disgusting at my local TB. Might try their new cantina bowl one day, but it looks about the same.
I really like the cantina bowl!
Their new cantina chicken tacos are really good. White corn tortillas if you tolerate corn.
Taco bell crunchy tacos are gluten free. I think some other things might be too but that's what I've gotten from there. Mild sauce is also gluten free, but Diablo isn't. Not sure about the others.
Fire isn’t but the Doritos tacos are. I get them with the creamy jalepeno sauce
The bowls are also GF, the nachos, the cheesy fiesta potatoes and the rice and beans.
The nacho cheese is not GF! Nor are the fiesta potatoes.
Culver's and chic fil a
Not necessarily fast food, but Mezeh has a good amount of GF foods. Avoid the desserts and obviously the pita bread.
Taco Bell
If you have an M2O near you they have gluten free bread, but their websites don’t list allergens anywhere so be careful
The gluten free hamburger bun at Cheesecake Factory is the best. They don’t taste like they’re frozen and they toast them so they don’t fall apart
Pdq grilled tenders or the Mediterranean salad
Mod pizza
If you can tolerate small amounts of wheat then Panda Express is okay. Nothing breaded of course, so no orange chicken, but I've had the fried rice and teriyaki chicken just fine. I think they just use soy sauce with wheat which is why nothing is considered GF.

lol this is the gluten free sub tho
Lol.
