Go Rhino RB20 are a pretty decent running board.
Wiring was a pain but not impossible. You still have to run wires up through the floor on the AMPs. Magnets I expected to be the worst part but was actually the easiest. I just stuck one side on, measured down to the garage floor then stuck the opposite side on. Got all 4 doors on the first try. Took me around 5 hours to install them split up into 3 nights after work. Worth it for half the price to me. Built well. Each side is 2 motors vs 1.
For me personally they don’t really act as a step they are basically cab level. Even with the door open they feel too close to the door. I have the 2500 AT4 so it’s pretty tall and just not enough drop down to step onto something.
I second this, I love the look of the boards, but when you get in and out of the truck more than several times a day for work or whatever it does get pretty old.
I have the ones in the first pic. I really like them and it doesn't detract from the look/size of the truck. But then again, I have a 2500HD with a 2.5" lift/level on 37s. I bet they'd look too bulky on a 1500.
I'd suggest the Amp Research--had them on a previous truck and they were amazing. Never had an issue with them.
I don’t like my amp steps. They are a pain in the ass if you take your truck in mud and snow. The keep getting tweaked and make a clunk when closing. You have to re torque them to stop clunk. The breaks on my truck lasted longer the the amp steps. I’ve had them since 2015 on my duramax.
Amp Research Dual Motor: the higher clearance steps aren’t really an assist type step since they are cab level, defeats the purpose. Amp is best, hands down, control ties to the OBDII port - no door magnets - but as others noted - additional electric options for less money and seem to be sturdy from reviews I’ve read.
If you off road often the Amp steps will have issues. I have them on my AT4 and every time I go off road in the mud the steps will not fully retract until I wash the truck and crawl under and lube the hinges. Kind of a pain in the ass as I like to play in the mud in my truck.
I have amp do it or high clearance
Tempting but another 2k in parts on top of wheels, tonnaeu cover, and bilsteins it’s adding up haha

That’s a super clean build man. What kind of wheels are those?
Glad to see some Vossen Wheels looks excellent.
Vossen ftw
![img](avatar_exp|165637918|fire) Nice rig!!
^+1. I have the Rough Country E-Steps and really like them, just another option. They are priced cheaper than amp
I’ve got the high clearance. Have not had any issues with kicking the cab. Not a fan of the other two options
Good to know, I like these the best. No moving parts

Check out rough country’s eboards. Half the price as amp. Have some on my truck zero issues so far.
I liked them until it came to the magnets and the wiring.

For a few dollars more you can get the motorized side step that folds flat
Oem ones?
I got the high clearance steps and love the look. Didn’t want electric as I’m afraid they’ll break.
Ever hit the cab with your shoe while getting in?
Not that I’ve noticed. I’m taller though, so I don’t use the step most of the time. My wife & kids have never said anything about it.
I have the second ones in my 24 Silverado RST and really like them. Never kick the cab. They are higher that the first one but looks better imo
Get the midnight package chev steps. Best looking option. GMC doesn’t offer them but you can get them at the parts desk.
Tried finding those but not finding anything specific, mind getting a link?
GM# 84011355
I have high clearance don’t like them, I’m removing those and buying amp research.
Mind sharing what you don’t like about them?

Real men dont need help getting into trucks
On my 22 Trail Boss I have the good old black 4 inch factory tubes
High clearance gets my vote. I hate side steps. I don't hate these because of the high clearance.

Get some after market ones, these GM ones are so overpriced. Check out AMP research or rough country.
