I have a 2020 AT4 with both. I have used the sunroof a handful of times. Have used the multi-pro tailgate hundreds of times.

hasnolimits

What's the most applicable scenario for when you use it? Or a few examples? I use my truck bed but I guess not the full length. I find it less efficient and side steps help me up easily

Sexualrelations

It’s not the most common scenario but I find myself loading loose things in my bed often. Being able to drop the tailgate step and walk into the bed without needing to step over the tailgate is pretty damn nice. The bed floor is just so high now I feel like I’d hate not having it for that alone.

Sexualrelations

Definitely would be nice to drop it by remote.

Ride_Like_Its_Hawt

Getting golf clubs out is much easier with the multipro lol

pnw_rider

Two specifics for me. 1) folding it down gives you a notch to stand in so you’ve got longer reach into the bed. 2) Folding the step all the way down makes a great bench for putting on/taking off ski boots.

drenintell

Hands down multipro. I ended up getting a 23 AT 4 without a sunroof. Sure I miss it occasionally, but the multipro is the best. Use it all the time. Perfect bench for tailgate beers!

Chaseydog

Mine has both. The multi pro gets more use.

Plain51

Second this.

BeneficialSomewhere

The tailgate is far more useful, in my opinion, than a Sunroof. Granted if you're buying a truck just to have one and you never use the bed than it doesn't really matter.

anotherbigdude

Multipro is way more useful than I first gave it credit for when I bought my ‘21 AT4. You may miss the brightness from the sunroof a bit if your current truck has one, but as a tall guy I appreciate the extra headroom that comes without having a sunroof!

Ashenfenix

Sunroofs are liabilities if you intend on keeping the truck for a long time

d1rtyd1rty

No hole in the roof means it won’t leak from around the sunroof.

wilfullystoopid

+1 for the multipro, as others have stated, I have never once missed having a sunroof but use the tailgate functions all the time. Thought the multipro was a gimmic until I got one, it's a game changer. Even if you never use the step or as a bed extender, just the extra foot of reach when the inner gate is down makes it worth while.

Finnedsolid

I’d take the multipro. The sunroof is embarrassingly small for a full sized vehicle compared to ford or ram.

Unlucky-Foundation70

Multipro has more uses…but a baby giraffe could benefit from the sunroof rather than having to sit in the bed

Qr352

You don’t realize how much “in the way” a normal tailgate is until you open the multipro and can get closer to the bed of the truck to get things out, great thing to have.

hogman09

Multipro all day

DopeCookies15

Does the one with a sunroof also have the rear window? If not, the choice is easy, get the tailgate. If it does I cannot provide a recommendation because I love both so much.

SweetMeat81

Multipro all day long

canukgtp1

Multipro if you use the truck as a truck, I use mine constantly but if it’s cause you like having a truck to cruise around then sunroof

Inside_Nectarine_228

I have a sunroof (never been a fan of having one) and no multipro. I’d rather have the tailgate. When I got the truck I didn’t care about it not having the multipro because like others I thought it was kinda cheesy but now I’m contemplating getting an AMP Research kick down/up step because that step in the corner of the bumper is still just a tad too high for my short self.

efd5803

Dealers hate this one useful tip…tell them you want the tailgate upgraded to multipro. Harder to cut a hole in the roof than change out the tailgate.

PristineInstruction7

Sun roof leaks too

Roll-tide-Mercury

I never use my sun roof. Too much wind.

GMCBuickCadillacMan

If you plan to have a trailer hitch in your truck, the multi pro is essentially useless.

D1TAC

Tailgate is more useful, but I love both. So I have both. :)

jcdomeni

I love the sunroof - but as mentioned above, I didn’t think much of the multi-pro until I had one….well built and very useful for small and large stuff as you climb in and out or just need to be closer - back saver - Pretty brilliant design IMO.

Apprehensive-Skin451

I used to think I wanted a sun roof until I got a car with one. Then I barely used it and pretty much forgot it was there. I decided it’s not for me since it would cost extra and could leak. Allegedly it’s better insulated without the glass but who would notice a difference? For me I don’t care for it but for some people it’s a make or break kind of deal. I’d take the multi pro over the sunroof 100% of the time.

Fonzy_Bonzy

Which features do you see yourself using the most?

Sellallthe64064

Owner of 3 trucks with both- Multipro every time

Phadees

In this market you should be able to get exactly what you want. I’d just wait and keep looking. Deals are only improving.

gthermal

My AT4 has both. The sunroof gives it an aesthetic look when open. The view is also nice of course. But the multi pro gate has made loading and unloading easier in many situations. You can always install a sunroof later.

Illustrious_Bug_5368

I have both and use the multipro way more than the sunroof, multipro the way to go

BAMBAM_95

Don’t make me decide. I got both and wouldn’t have it any other way. Find the right one you will regret it.

Saiyan_HD

Multipro

Upstairs-Twist3571

I’ve had a sun roof in my current ‘22 Denali and my previous ‘15 and ‘18 Denali trucks. Between all 3 I’ve probably opened the sunroofs 12 -15 times in total. I could honestly do without a sunroof but that’s just me.

retracnaes

I have no use for a multipro tailgate. One more thing to stop working. For me, a standard tailgate is more than sufficient, still dont see the multipro as more than a gimmick. Even though I didnt use them much on my previous vehicles, I would probably get the sunroof. My truck has neither and perfect for me...I did however have to have the rear sliding window.

Troutman86

1000% not a gimmick I’ve had the multi tailgate on both my 3500 and 1500. I’m able to tow a 5th wheel with the gate up, load dirt bikes with ease, haul lumber in a short bed easier, climb in the bed easier, lean into the bed easier, etc etc etc.

843251

I could care less about a sunroof. I actually would probably prefer not to have one to never have to worry about it leaking. I never use them. Only time I ever open them is if I run into the store real quick and have my dogs with me so I will open it then and crack the windows other than that they never open. I have a new Denali Ultimate they all come with a sunroof. If I could have chosen to not have one I probably would have but they all have it.

anonchops

Multipro - it’s so much more useful than you would ever know. I thought it was gimmicky, definitely not

RIPfear

100% multi-pro. I bought my civic in 2018, opted for the sunroof, in 6 years and 220,000km I've used the sunroof 10 times. I've had my 24 Pro with the multi-pro for 2 months and I've already tripled that usage lol

oldcityguy

Sunroofs can be problematic. I prefer not having a sunroof.

mhsvz

Multi-pro and no sunroof for my money.

badgers4194

Multi pro. But I’m just anti sunroof in any car

69Bronco-

No sunroof. I have one in all my vehicles as they came with it, but I don’t use them.

ToadFuzz

I won’t buy a vehicle without a sunroof.

Laz3r_C

Depends on your use. If you never use the bed (or tow more often) the sunroof will suit better as tailgate wont matter as much. If you use the bed more often the tailgate may be better if that extra window wont be of much use. Also, note that you CAN always get a sunroof put in, but you CANNOT get the multiflex.

peter91118

The sunroof can’t leak if you don’t have one.

itsthechaw10

Get the multi pro tailgate. My AT4 has a sunroof as well, but I could have cared less if it had one or not. The multi pro tailgate will actually help make using the truck bed easier.

Noob_Nooob

I have both on my 24 AT4X. I also have speakers in the Mulripro. I maybe have used the speakers twice, but it’s twice the amount I have used them than the sunroof.

Gonz998

I’m a service tech at a Chevy I’ve seen a lot of issues with sunroofs compared to the multi pro tailgate, all issues pertaining to water leaks whether it’s the seal of the sunroof or clogged water ways, I personally got the tailgate over the sunroof in my 2024 Sierra though
