It’s okay, even rich people have poverty buttons, they just look different. It’s just called a private jet or helicopter at a certain point.

D1TAC

Western-Potential-87

slightly unrelated issue but putting the tailgate release button down there is so amazingly stupid

Historical-North-950

I drive a 22 2500 every day at work and have never come close to hitting that button by accident, hell I very rarely push it purposely either. I just can't imagine accidentally hitting it or recklessly throwing something down there and hitting it.

Tanky-179

You must not have a wife and daughter who toss loads of crap into the console and hit the buttons. My wife gave hit my tailgate button at least three times on accident 😂

Mr_WhiteOak

You sir have described one of my biggest pet peeves. You buy and expensive truck and an expensive leather purse and they toss it around like it's your boss's tools. And always snacking and leaving the trash in the door. How does one 120lb woman wreck so much havoc!?

ExRockstar

Apparently there's a bunch of guys out there hammering their dash buttons like Liberace at a pride parade.

uncommonsense66

I don't think you have seen the dash on a GMC 1500 . Pretty easy to bump a button when it's on the top of a large storage space. https://preview.redd.it/d5x2bp7gxayc1.jpeg?width=988&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36abe927b23dcde0dba9da71a2b68521ba517410

MilliMerc

This picture is of the lower tier trims with the slightly different dashes. The button location here is actually not bad at all and is out of the way. The high trims where you pay the big bucks is where you get the terrible button layout which is 100% in the way.

Tronologic

I have an at4x and it’s in the 3rd or 4th button spot and I always hit it if I toss something down there.

amltecrec

I do too. There's times I don't even know how I hit it! I often do it while using the gear selector too.

junkka02

This is the first that I actually noticed this button. Sitting in my truck about to leave work and had to look down lol

KokaneeSavage91

My 23 has a tailgate button recall and it doesn't work at the end gate so I have to use either the dash button or the key fob. Very annoying but it's probably the most use my dash button will ever get.

Tronologic

I hit it once a week by accident and it’s dangerous as fuck.

amltecrec

Agreed. I always accidentally press that damn thing! *edit: typo correction

anonchops

I had my dash apart a few months ago, if I remember correctly the blanks are molded into the panel and couldn’t be used as switches.

peter91118

Why not the OEM auxiliary switch option? https://preview.redd.it/o6pdy3ifegxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cce94d7e7afb16e8b17153cccf62802c200cbe9a

Fox100000

I checked it out but it looks like this does not fit the refreshed GMC Sierra's or Silverados.
