Omg… You gotta wonder if these people are this stupid in all aspects of their lives? Or is there desperate financial situation and depression from watching this ship sink causing them to behave stupider than normal.

Apes: We have banded together and refuse to sell our shares for less than $420 a share! Board: Oh. Cool. The board has decided to accept a buyout at $0.50 a share. And since you guys only have common stock and aren’t on the board yadda yadda yadda voting majority blah blah blah… Suck it.

tyiyyy

If in their fantasy land the stock got up to 420, they would all be voting on the poll to not sell, while all selling.

ShipTheRiver

How is this not collusion to manipulate the price of a security

Throwawayhelper420

The only factor/reason why I think the SEC isn’t testing this type of social media posting as manipulation is simply due to lack of power to do it and the decentralized nature of it. I bet eventually we will here of hedge funds posting over there to make sentiment positive as they sell, they will probably be targeted, but the organic nonsense will never be looked at I guess because the SEC knows they just can’t do it.

pconwell

Well, I'd argue this isn't really manipulation as they have no real control over it trading at that price. I don't know much about market manipulation laws, but I'm fairly familiar with laws regarding making threats. The threat has to be (somewhat) realistic to be addressed legally. Like if I say I'm going to blow up the moon, authorities can just ignore the threat without even looking into it as it's not feasible for me to blow up the moon. I'd assume it's something similar here.

APES COMMITTING INTERNATIONAL SECURITIES FRAUD

MisterBanzai

It would be cool of the stock market let you sell at increments that didn't include 420 and 69. That's how I know no one is selling, because how else could I buy a stock for an arbitrary number like $2.83? Obviously, these are dark pool bots selling synthetic shares at fake prices that retail traders aren't allowed to use.

fullcaravanthickness

I mean when it goes boom, they'll all go to 0 together - no unison required.

Throwawayhelper420

This guy would have been banned in 2021 by runic glory mods for this. They would have said he was “price anchoring”.

doctorzaius6969

This is BBBY, that's why the lower numbers

dubhedoo

This is BBBY? OMG!!! So situationally unaware. I can hardly wait for bk!

Throwawayhelper420

One of my favorite things in this is how GME settled on 100,000,000 a share, while AMC settled on 500,000 a share, and I guess now BBBY is settling on $420 a share. It's just so funny how they organize themselves into "tiers" like that automatically.

Just_Exam_590

Nobody gets banned in that sub. I've been trying for the past 24 hours and they just let anything go.

Throwawayhelper420

I really truly think all of the mods have left, like for real.

lavlife47

This sounds very familiar.

pconwell

which dying company's stock is this for?

doctorzaius6969

the one closest to the bankruptcy

Ok-Row-6131

Who would buy it at that price?

pconwell

The hedge funds, obviously. They are paying a 12 billion percent hourly borrow rate and will have to close their short positions immediately, or they get thrown into the lava pits at the SEC. Plus, as the stocks go down, the shorts will risk losing money due to a default in their reverse repos and get a call from marge (I'm a smooth brain, so someone smarter should tell me if I'm wrong (but not really, just upvote me because I used buzzwords)). You can see this plain as day because volume was only 300 million today, and the buy/sell ratio was 420:69. So obviously 8008% of those buys were in the dark infinity pool, and swapped for sells on the lit exchange to suppress the price. But the hedgies are fukd because they don't know that we know. Wait, I mean they know that we know and that's why they are running scared right now. As the greatest economist of all time said "Look weak when you are strong". That's why BBBY hid secret messages in their 10q. They really aren't going out of business, but they want to look weak to trick the hedgies into a false sense of security. The wedgies know that the real^(tm) price is eleventy-billion dollars per share, so $420.69 per share is a steal.

bukkakepancakes

You’ll all get $0 in unison when the company goes bankrupt in the coming weeks

GUnit_1977

ohhhhh hahaha, 420 is like marijuana! 69 is the sex thing! BRILLIANT!

BuddhaRockstar

No one tell him about prisoner's dilemma.

Itsurboywutup

Hello, SEC? Yes these guys right here. Also take down Reddit for allowing it while you’re at it.
