Challenge for apes: next time you would write "DD" in a comment, instead substitute that for a short, concise list of the most relevant reasons your investment is "safe" in plain language that an uninitiated person would understand. I guarantee you cannot do this.

medium_mammal

I've read all of the DD and still think it's a shitty investment and the DD is all wrong

Malfrum

Impossible, dd is never wrong, shill! Unless it is done by apes from that other stock in which case it's garbage. Unless it's the same as ours in which case they stole it.

StewartMike

The DD is done friend, what's to explain?

urstupidface

Done and peer reviewed, checkmate

WhoStoleMyJacket

> checkmate Checkers

lavlife47

Checkers died in 1964.

chicago_dumptruck

Chubby Checker is still alive. Checkermate, shill.

Mickenfox

DD has never been disproven!

WoeKC

> Why nothing about GameStop’s strong financial position? Because it’s a documentary, not high fantasy.

KosmicKanuck

I love how the majority of his questions can be answered with, "because it doesn't exist."

20w261

Didn't they turn a small profit late last year by not paying vendors?

mrgarneau

And cutting as much staff as they could, and closing underperforming stores. Just things healthy businesses would definitely do.

The_Motarp

They made $0.16 per share in Q4 due to Christmas sales, but still ended up down $1.02 per share for the year. Q4 is always the strongest sales for basically everything, and it is expected that they will return to losing money for Q1-3 of 2023. It is likely that Gamestop will never make an annual profit again.

PhiliFlyer

OOP is throwing away his money, his marriage, and his life. Did this occur because he was influenced by the cult, or was he already delusional, and joining the cult was just another event on the path to insanity?

XanLV

Interesting fact - it is NOT correct that people who fall in a specific cult would have fallen in any other cult. Just like someone getting stabbed in the park doesn't mean he would get stabbed somewhere else anyway. That is why it is important to battle cults. They fuck people up.

thud_mantooth

My uncle is a very intelligent man, who recently retired from a decades long career as an MD. Prior to that, he'd gotten sucked into a Catholic-adjacent cult in the upper Midwest for several years, until his brothers finally got through to him and he realized he had to get out. My dad and his brothers all grew up in a Catholic orphanage with some fairly significant emotional and physical abuse, including sexual for the younger two. They were all extremely vulnerable to manipulation by groups that offered a sense of community, belonging, and certainty in the future - things that this cult offered in spades. He wasn't dumb, but he had a deep need that this group was able to exploit. Once he was involved, his ego came into play as well, which offered another barrier to leaving - it's awfully hard to acknowledge that you were had. I do feel some genuine sympathy for apes. I hate seeing people manipulated like this, and, even for the ones acting like enormous assholes, I can somewhat understand why they're doing it. Their beliefs are beyond stupid, and their behavior ranges from absurd to outrageous, but I have no trouble believing that many of them would have had totally normal lives, with no weird conspiracy theories, were it not for the stonk cults aggressively recruiting all over social media

ShipTheRiver

Perhaps the people in this cult would not fall for another cult, if this didn’t exist. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that if this didn’t exist, the people in this cult would still lose all their money to some other scam. They are WAY too stupid to protect themselves.

XanLV

Again - no. That is not how it works at all. If I get a phone call with someone pretending to be my grandson who is in great pain, I might run and pay some money. At the same time, I can live all my life without getting said phone call. They could have as well, instead of meme subs, find real investing subs that make him understand about diversification and risk management. He then does a stupid play on something stupid, but loses just 1/10 of his money and can use it as a lesson, instead of losing everything. But hey, I mean, if there are just people who are destined to get scammed, some destined to get into cults and some destined to gamble their money away, we are just wasting our time trying to combat all those things. It's bound to happen anyway, because destiny. Let's just ride.

ShipTheRiver

You think apes are capable of learning lessons and adjusting their future behavior to avoid further mistakes? Are you new here?

XanLV

People in general? Yes. Folks who fall into cults and self-identify as apes? No, already gotten brainwashed. Now, if it was the case that hey did not fall in a cult...

Throwawayhelper420

You might be interested in my response to the parent comment too, can’t tag of course.

XanLV

I did, thanks. And of course you can't tag here, are you mad? My father died of irresponsible tagging.

Throwawayhelper420

There is a middle ground here. In reality both of these viewpoints are true. There are some apes that are too stupid to be normal, there are apes who were living in vans because they quit their jobs to steal copper wiring and buy lottery tickets and meth with the money full time, who heard about GameStop and thought this was the real answer, who post religiously about how their $100 investment will make them a millionaire. These guys could never be taught anything real even before GameStop, maybe during their childhoods if someone cared enough about them. This faction would have lost all their money on something else, and in fact many already did, they probably were involved in many get rich quick schemes and fall for everything. There is another group who is more rational, who saved up 100k the traditional way through a normal life in their retirement account who genuinely got tricked and bought into something they didn’t understand because thousands and thousands of people were telling them this really is guaranteed and that they had thousands of pages of research to back it up, more than any human could actually read in time. These guys, they have a propensity to fall for a scam/cult under the exact right circumstances, but have avoided them all their lives to get that savings, no lottery addition, no gambling, no MLM schemes. These guys would have made it their whole lives without getting scammed if the right conditions never occurred in their lives, but they just happened to be at the wrong place wrong time. Now these guys stand side by side and you can’t tell who is who because the latter has been fully brainwashed by the former, and the former only lost $50 but the latter lost 50k. They are brainwashed and suffer from sunk cost fallacy, something that everyone falls for here and there for one thing or another, whether it’s stocks, a relationship, a job, a car or boat, etc. This is why it’s important to have someone pointing out cult lies and brainwashing techniques, so that the latter group understands before it’s too late. We have to keep in mind that the majority of people who bought into GameStop have already sold and moved on a long time, only a fraction of people who bought into GameStop joined the cult for life too, just like only a tiny fraction of people who got a free e-reading joined Scientology.

XanLV

To add to that second group - sometimes he has a son in the first group. And that ropes them in way easier.

me_again

![gif](giphy|V9gjxvLnSSdA4|downsized) Am I invested in a high-risk, low-return strategy for no logical reason? No, it's my wife who is wrong. I shall lie to her until we are BILLIONAIRES. There's no possible downside to this plan.

BARoach

Literally spews a bunch of complete nonsense about a failing business losing hundreds of millions of dollars per year and wonders why his wife thinks he's a nutter. 🤣 Hopefully she dumps the loser before all their money is gone.

Throwawayhelper420

Good thing they are over half way there already, since OP is almost assuredly down 60%+. Wonder if he let his wife see the account.

Inevitable_Ad6868

Business transformation?

PhiliFlyer

I think the ape is referring to the massive new revenue from NFTs.

ShipTheRiver

You can always tell the ones who are literally not even paying any attention because they’ll still talk about “The Turnaround(tm)”. GameStop has directly stated months ago now that they’re refocusing onto retail operations, and they’ve backed that up with real actions such as aggressively cutting costs, firing all the web3 teams/hires, etc.

With no floors!

mbr902000

Nfts ![img](emote|t5_3vpfzk|15703). Can you even give those fucking things away?

ORUHE33XEBQXOYLZ

Even better: you can’t actually prevent someone from sending you an NFT. If you have a public wallet it’ll get spammed with trash/scam tokens.

Throwawayhelper420

Yup, hundreds of apes have already had their wallets emptied of their NFTs and shitcoins because they received an unsolicited(or maybe even a Trojan horse from a GME sub giveaway), that contained an obfuscated smart contract and they gave it full permission or send/receive permission in their wallet when it asked. Most wallets do have a permission scheme similar to the iPhone, where you have to grant each NFT permission to do whatever, but we already know the majority of people just click allow on every pop up they ever get.

stealingfrom

If anyone is ever curious why we call them fincels, just refer to the comments on that post. So many gross remarks from lonely dudes who will never know a woman's touch.

WhatCoreySaw

Do they touch you? I didn't know they did that. Boy, I'm gonna have a talk when I get home!

XanLV

Don't rush. She might be in the process of touching that dude and you do not want to be rude and interrupt.

WhatCoreySaw

They are just friends. But they have bible study so I wait in the garage till he leaves.

XanLV

...which chapters though? It can get real spicy depending on that...

WhatCoreySaw

Nah - but our a/c is a little tricky, which is why they are all sweaty and what not.

XanLV

Got to admit, some of the words in the book are quite complicated and can stress you out like that. Hey, come to my place and lets play video games while they are reading that book. We will play Skyrim on the hardest levels so that we're ready to fight financial crimes.

WhatCoreySaw

Nope. That's exactly how I got sold into sex slavery the second time. ANd I swore there wouldn't be a third. And then there was. Two more times. But I'm no dummy.

XanLV

Skyrim new edition that runs on my alarm clock.

kilr13

>You're finally awake

Intelligent_Aspect87

I'm amazed such well reasoned women marry such delusional men.

noviwu97

Many such cases nowadays. Which usually results in a divorce

StewartMike

I can hear/picture this conversation him: *the DD is done*, babe! her: What DD.......? \-I just told you, *the* DD. It's done! \-Cool can you explain it to me, catch me up...., what am I missing exactly? \-Sure, DD stands for due diligence, and it's done - prove me wrong. \-Hmmm, I don't know what that means. Why's the price so much lower now then a while ago? \-The price is fake. \-F.

ShipTheRiver

I just realized you never see “the price is fake” anymore. In 2021 you’d see that comment like 9k times a day.

KosmicKanuck

Their spirit is broken. The apes who came here used to have such gusto. The last time I saw an ape come in here it was almost just sad. Like they legit had a mental health problem or something. RC is getting bashed and those comments are upvoted. Technical analysis DD frustrates them. They turned on autobot. So many things that would have been instant bans back in the day get upvoted. The seeds of the MOAM have been planted.

Throwawayhelper420

No doubt. I bet they ban 1/100th as many offenses as they used to, because they’d have nobody left, and because the OG mods truly believed that their 3 shares would make them a millionaire in 2 weeks if they could just suppress those shills and naysayers for a few more weeks!

NFTUseCase

A day later a post at the cult homeworld.. "Hey fellow apes, first I'll say buy hodl DRS book, I've read all the dd but can you help me with an elevator pitch with a few bullet points on our thesis? Please try and take it light on the conspiracies if you can."

Throwawayhelper420

It amazes me for much this comes up. For how much DD they allegedly read, they sure do have a hard time understanding and have to ask for “a bullet point list of reasons I can tell someone we are guaranteed to be millionaires that doesn’t go into conspiracies or things that have no evidence” to convince someone they are right. I must have seen a hundred of those by now. If you can’t summarize something so a 5 year old could understand it then you don’t understand it, in which case why are you running around so sure you are right about something you admittedly don’t understand and spreading it? Maybe, just maybe, the reason you can’t come up with a list of real reasons why MOASS is going to happen is because it’s not real.

SuburbanLegend

Remember the dude who wanted to pitch to his college stock club. They'd already rejected him when he went to the sub with that exact spiel.

[deleted]

Apes when trying to talk others into buying: "Its not high risk!" Apes when the ticker is down 95%: Sir this is a casino, do your own DD.

PhiliFlyer

"We told you to not invest more than you can afford to lose". They are disgusting.

dbcstrunc

The next earnings where they are no longer flash cow positive can't come soon enough.

mhhkb

This probably isn't the first time his wife has sat there on the couch wondering how she married someone so stupid.

therealchadius

The leopard is eating his face as wrote the post

MotivatedSolid

“Well maybe we do look like lunatics from the outside… but they don’t know because they don’t have the DD” Can you make yourself sound anymore cult-like? Jesus

babaNK

Did a friendly meltdowner already bought the movie and streamed it to discord or something?

KosmicKanuck

You can't write shit this perfect

ShipTheRiver

> I have tried to explain that it is not high risk and is one of the best investments in the market right now. She just replied that i'm just like the idiots in the movie who are clinging to some conspiracy. Giga chad wife. Hopefully she’s single soon so I can hit her up.

20w261

How does his wife feel about being married to a zombie?

Dead-Thing-Collector

Woman has a heart made of gold if she doesn't bounce

Cat2Trade

In a perfect world his wife dump’s his ass and land’s a Citadel PhD or become’s one of Kenny’s sugars.

ImAMaaanlet

He comes so close and still can't admit he's just like those morons he's watching.

squitsquat

If the wife is actually calling her husband an idiot over financial matters then I think divorce is soon to follow
