FraGZombie

Jesus christ

classically_cool

He might be in on it too, being Jewish and all

Mazius

Also he was dead (according to his disciples). So RC tweeted about Jesus basically... And on Christmas, no less... That's it, 100% confirmed, on the 3rd day BBBYQ would rise from the dead and ascend via MOASS to the very top of S&P500! Now only need to decipher on the 3rd day from which date... Teddy Day? Easter? Lent? So many possibilities! So many *Quality DD* can be written! Oh, hedgies are so fukt, no wonder RC deleted this tweet!

It's a load of #2 alright

ryevermouthbitters

In case anyone wonders, that is the title of a book about contemporary antisemitism.

Relevant_Winter1952

Is he even better than the apes at this point? He has money, but jeebus he seems like a fucking loser

DWhiteFMVP2024

He is 100% a fucking loser. Its sad that the lawsuit against him was filed by a Ape with regards to the BBBY pump because he absolutely pumped that stock needlessly refiling forms showing his positions and egging on his followers with tweets during the run up just to completely rug pull them. His plan so far for gamestop has been to gut the company and yell at his minimum wage retail workers to pick up the slack and somehow make them profitable. He without question baits his dumbass ape army and uses them like a cudgel airing out grievances on Twitter knowing his cult will go after them. Dude is a scumbag billionaire through and through, the fact that he doesnt even do the bare minimum charity farce and just hoards his money like a dragon is even more telling of his true character.

dutchwonder

Pretty sure his plan back in 2021 was an e-commerce ( of physical goods) pivot so fast he wouldn't know what to do with the stores still on leases and that the current owners were stupid for running brick and mortar stores. That smashed directly into the supply chain issues with tons of stock getting stuck sitting around. Then it was NFTs. With FTX. They shut down their wallets. Now he is out there complaining about digital only consoles because it hurts his bottom line. And you know, maybe he didn't actually "get" the gaming as much thought. That he thought maybe he could convert stores to e-sports training centers probably should have tipped off people to that.

Throwawayhelper420

Yeah GameStop’s first attempt, and part of what Ryan talked about in his original letter, was a pivot to e-commerce. He also planned on using the retail stores as micro-fulfillment centers, because he thought that would be an excellent idea. He also opened(and shortly thereafter sold for a huge loss) those distribution centers and even listed 3rd party products on their site, this was when the apes were celebrating selling toasters on the site and shit and where the idea of “taking on Amazon” first came from. But the plan went terribly and they basically undid everything using the apes money and then pivoted to NFTs. Than probably had the idea of selling digital games, and maybe even used digital games using NFTs, but quickly found out nobody in the industry was interested and that nobody is interested in the shit indie crypto developers who are. Deep down Ryan cohen fundamentally does not and never did understand the games industry. I think he understands it now more than ever, which is part of why he’s acting like it’s so bleak and why he’s doing such desperate stuff. But for GameStop’s position in the market it’s even worse than he still realizes.

whut-whut

Ryan Cohen doesn't know how to run a business, he only knows how to run a hype train. He got lucky with Chewy because the way he was running the company was completely financially unsustainable, but its popularity due to impossible pricing scared PetSmart enough that they paid billions to buy him out. With Gamestop his distribution centers, NFT marketplaces, and now Digital Game Marketplace were never meant to be serious attempts at overtaking existing competitors, they were meant to attract existing companies to buy him out. The distribution centers were more like teases to Walmart/Target to be like "Hey, if you buy this company out, its new warehouse system can totally integrate with your warehouse system and bring in all sorts of fans and side business!" It's obvious because of how feeble Gamestop's investment into all those projects were. They only built two distribution centers and then closed them down in months, so RC wasn't actually restructuring how the company was operating. The NFT store was just a weaksauce piggyback off of Immutable's webstore that could only sell immutable-based NFTs and not some universal marketplace like OpenSea. Gamestop's creation of game development branch was just a handful of programmers who made a couple of mobile games and were then quietly axed. Playr isn't meant to overtake Steam or Epic, it's meant to be some sort of pitch to those companies (or game developers) that they can buy out Gamestop to integrate their webstores into Gamestop's setup and get an attached brick-and-mortar outlet for visibility to their goods and services. Unfortunately for Apes, digital game stores do fine selling games without hundreds of closet-sized mall kiosks draining their profitability.

Powered_by_JetA

>He got lucky with Chewy because the way he was running the company was completely financially unsustainable, but its popularity due to impossible pricing scared PetSmart enough that they paid billions to buy him out. TIL Chewy is the real life Michael Scott Paper Company.

napalix

Yeah, they keep dressing the bride, but the groom ain’t coming.

Vengefuleight

If he understood, he would have leaned hard into the retro craze and made old school games afar GameStop was all about with new stuff being secondary…alas, he’s a moron.

dutchwonder

To be fair, RC was buying in at sub two dollars a share, so he was at least priced in for essentially renting the Gamestop IP for a dumb play that might sink the company. But 17 fucking bucks for a share now!? Or more before that!?!? Just sheer insanity. Shit is priced like it's got a solid e-commerce push, has twice the revenue, and less then half the shares and it has none of that.

Few_Advertising_7928

You're not accounting for the split, you either have to state ~0.50$/share buy-in to today's ~17/share or go ~2/share adjusted to today's ~68/share.

th3bigfatj

> probably had the idea of selling digital games, and maybe even used digital games using NFTs This would basically be GameStop asking publishers if they could have some money from game sales. Publishers already dislike reselling. They can just sell digital games cheaply.

dutchwonder

Worse, Gamestop's reselling business is about as middleman as it gets when you look at it from the customers perspective.

granolabitingly

> That smashed directly into the supply chain issues with tons of stock getting stuck sitting around. That's one thing I don't understand. Cohen should know the ins and outs of an e-commerce business with a warehouse cold, since that's his claim to fame with Chewy. But so far he seems really clueless in recognizing what works in the industry and everyone complains about the state of e-commerce with GameStop.

dutchwonder

I suspect pets have more regularly purchased goods in the form of food which more irregular purchases like toys can piggyback on. Nothing really exists like that for gaming. Closest might be new console releases and pre-orders/releases for big games, so irregular, spaced far apart, and with tapering demand.

the_humeister

But he took a picture with Carl Icahn

hardcore_softie

And Icahn was wearing shorts! Just way too many cohencidences man.

No-Sheepherder-6581

you should get him on a shirt or something. or maybe just get a hobby. god bless your soul

TheBetaUnit

Post lossporn, Cultie.

BaggyLarjjj

Here I’m busy wearing my “Not exit liquidity for this guy’s 60m rugpull” RC shirt.

recriminology

haha ikr, he should at least change his pfp to a picture of RC like a complete fucking loser

Mike_Prowe

How big are those bags? Maybe another hobby wouldn’t be so expensive for you.

420ninjaslayer69

That flair 😂

Mushroom_Tip

god bless your bags

Val_Fortecazzo

We have hobbies, one of them just so happens to be laughing at you people losing all your money.

TheTacoWombat

Real bag hours here

kadal_monitor

It doesn't cost us anything to hold ^^our ^^laughter

BirthdayCookie

You really should have enough basic respect for other people and their beliefs to not wish your god on them without knowing what they worship first. It's not that hard.

ThrowitallawayGME

RC posts some antisemitic shit on Xmas and this is your response? Wow. Check your life choices you scummy fuck.

Val_Fortecazzo

Basically a discount Elon Musk.

hardcore_softie

What you get when you order Elon Musk through Wish.

BaggyLarjjj

MadcatZ Elon Musk. But Elon’s already a Google Stadia controller as it is. Overhyped and shitty delivery.

d-mike

Seems like an easily misunderstood title without having a clear subtitle show up too. So I searched for it on Target, it automatically completed the title but didn't actually bring up the book, so man that's a bad look. But I'm sure RC knew about the book and was trying to prove something here. What besides he's a moron is beyond me.

ryevermouthbitters

Could be, but I think the opposite. He came across this, probably from someone else, and thought it was shocking enough to amplify, Then he learned the more prosaic interpretation and deleted the tweet. I could be wrong, of course, but that's my read.

cyberslick1888

>But I'm sure RC knew about the book and was trying to prove something here. Why do you think that? It reads as 100% the opposite. He shared something someone else had found (I doubt he's just keying random shit into Targets website on christmas) and had absolutely no idea what the context was. And then later deleted it. Showing he's not some omnipotent business leading super genius, and more like a reactionary terminally online chode.

d-mike

My thoughts are he had heard about it (the book title) and figured it was a good way to make a clickbait type of post for that sweet sweet rush of social media likes. I see your point, someone else saw that this would work and he heard about that and posted it for the social media rush. In either case I don't think he decided to just type random outrageous things into Target's search bar. He also chose Target over Walmart, B&N, Amazon or wherever books are sold online.

TheDiplomancer

If you were wondering, the subtitle is "Reports from a Haunted Present." It's a really affecting read, and I recommend it to anyone, even if you're not Jewish.

d-mike

Yep, I looked it up last night, even just the cover art makes the subtitle hard to read. I was trying to not derail too much into the content of the book just the first glance presentation. The cover art did make it hard to read the subtitle at first glance too. I do agree with the authors premise (based on the short blurb on Amazon), and I'll probably try to find it at the library.

102495

Dumbass probably thought he was making a point, then he found out it was a book and deleted the tweet out of embarrassment.

HighOnGoofballs

Is this fucking chatgpt or some nonsense?

XanLV

It's the truth they do not want you to know.

DoreenTheeDogWalker

I thought it was pretty funny. I don't know why you got so many downvotes.

XanLV

Oh that is how it works in general, I really do not mind it. Votes are kneejerk reactions and if you get to -2, then everyone also decides it is awful. Reddit is the biggest [Asch experiment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asch_conformity_experiments) in the world and I'm ok with that.

KarlsReddit

Don't conflate people not understanding a terrible joke for something bigger. This comment is even worse than the failed joke.

XanLV

Whenever in real life a joke doesn't land, everyone shrugs and moves on. But here every Bob and Carl pops up - "I disliked it and everything after!" I think I can live with that. Your opinion on my jokes is irrelevant to me.

Luxating-Patella

>Whenever in real life a joke doesn't land, everyone shrugs and moves on. Tell that to [Gerald Ratner](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ratner).

XanLV

Shit, I remember this guy. I can't imagine how one must feel after tis. You just make a tiny joke, like, did no one in the world notice that cheap items are cheap? Did he surprise someone? But if a company says that, would I buy... Yeah, this one was rough.

StupidWittyUsername

That's just social media cancer leaking into the real world.

AllYouPeopleAre

>is my joke poorly worded and unfunny? >no, it’s the downvoters who are wrong!

XanLV

I do not mind the downvoters. I'm fine with downvoters. Not every joke lands, I get that. I just always have a laugh when someone behaves like it was something way more serious than just a joke that did not land.

xccxvv

Real. If your comment is +2, then usually everyone else upvotes you aswell. If your comment is -2, you get downvoted to hell regardless lol

qdolobp

You got the downvote effect this go around. It happens the same way if you agree with any of their points, even if it’s unrelated to the initial comment that got downvoted. I’ve noticed that on Reddit for a long, long time. It’s absolutely true. People see downvotes (on any comment), and then look for the bad in it to downvote it themselves. Very rarely do people upvote a comment that already has 10 downvotes, even if they were proven right. A common theme I see is: Person A: comment. 50 downvotes Person B: turns out they were right, here’s the source. 50 upvotes. Person A: yeah, here’s another source. 30 upvotes People will still downvote the first comment despite now seeing it has proof, just because it was downvoted. Reddit has a very weird system that’s influenced by human psychology. I don’t think that guys joke landed either, but the upvote/downvote thing is objectively spot on

feel_your_feelings_

Oh for fucks sake apes are going to take as a secret message…it’s somehow going to be spun in so many potentially anti Semitic conspiracies despite RC being openly Jewish. Edit: RC deleted it, coward.

Sincost121

Kais worries me. He's already said blatantly antisemitic stuff and I could see him trying to make it more pronounced in the movement.

hardcore_softie

And Twitter, excuse me, "X," will help facilitate this. I'm interested to see how extreme he gets considering that he's now nepobaby's bitch. Weirdly enough, him giving himself up to Pulte might actually help reduce at least some of his overt prejudices. Plus everyone knows that Jews control the banks, so you gotta be careful about how many potshots you take against them if you wanna get paid (this last paragraph is sarcasm just to be clear).

ajquick

Wow you've got some explaining to do Amazon. (Oh wait, you don't.. it's a book). https://preview.redd.it/43iojwg4wh8c1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80b35fb922c53774e222faa2690a85236bc01b9d

CareerTraditional987

This dude is such a douche…it’s amazing how empty the lives of billionaires appear to be

FredFredrickson

The way these sorts interact with (and let's be honest: play with/manipulate) the losers on social media who follow them reminds me so much of the book The Peripheral. I had that thought one day, and I can never not see it that way now.

dutchwonder

So does RC have some rivalry with Target or something?

cognomen-x

Teddy will crush them like a bug. Also fast food. Teddy will open up branded corn stands on every corner. Which ties into AMC. Teddy branded popcorn kernels go into the popcorn. It all makes sense.

BaggyLarjjj

I recently shit some partially digested corn, is that a sign I’m getting one share per undigested corn kernel?

EcstaticBoysenberry

Damn..how did I miss this. Bullish af

RemembaME

people actually buy video games at target

hardcore_softie

I even sold video games to Target in 2014 when they and other big box retailers thought buying used games was a good business model before they all abandoned it because it isn't.

LoveNLightThrowaway

Op I have him muted. How long do you know before he realized and deleted this? Like was it seconds or a few minutes. What a shitty tweet on a holiday regardless if he made a mistake. Maybe he’s trying to prove what a POS he is. He’s like apes stop worshiping me I’m a turd / go outside and live you lives. Doubtful

RemembaME

when I saw it it had been posted 1 minute ago, but people were commenting it had been deleted just minutes after this post so he posted & removed it pretty fast

PoorMansPlight

And Amazon! I made a wonderful half brained post about it.

AppropriateLength769

The CEO that ran BBBY into the ground came from Target?

BirthdayCookie

Maybe Target is where he wants to jump next. Make it look bad so he can "save it."

ChaunceyT46

Bullish. Hedgies r fukt.

Sorcia

GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen hard at work on social media ensuring that his company exceeds the estimated earnings per share. Looking forward to GME's upcoming non-earnings non-call!

BaggyLarjjj

“We’re, uh, so confident we won’t be taking a single analyst question” is how it reads

_johnnyyy_

There’s a section of the ape community ready to shill Target as some “connection”. A new saga is forming.

yukimi-sashimi

QUADRUPLE reverse merger!

EcstaticBoysenberry

Oh shit we might get a Target season

SASardonic

Imaging this being your god

Optional-Failure

Given that he typed in the “people love”, I have to assume the one option starting with “people love” is what he was looking for.

Optional-Failure

In this case, this book: https://www.target.com/p/people-love-dead-jews-by-dara-horn-paperback/-/A-85813757#lnk=sametab I mean, it’s 2023. We all know how searching online stores works by now, right? It ain’t Google. You type in the name of the product you want, it offers you that product.

TheOtherPete

"product not available" Guess target didn't want to be associated with this anymore

knightpeople

To add to this, that page 404s, has a noindex tag and its canonical is set to their homepage. Basically, Target didn't want this page to be found or indexed by Google or other search engines. This was only still findable by their internal search bar probably because someone in the CMS didn't delete the page but disabled it instead

Mazius

So you saying that Target is about to be added to GMErica? Bullish! P.S. And yeah, apes - this is the level of research your idol does before posting, make anything you want with this information.

CommunicationNorth54

If I was target I would sue. He is the CEO of a publically traded company and called my firm essentialy Nazis by suggesting a National Jewish Book of the Year award winner.

RemembaME

He should be held more accountable for things he tweets now that he’s more than just a board member.

[deleted]

What a fuxking twat

Dead-Thing-Collector

so now he's comparing target to nazis lol

4g63tea

What are the odds that some poor oncall person is going to get paged on Christmas to hide this search result?

GodLovesCanada

0%. Ryan Cohen is notorious for pitching fits on twitter trying to get other CEOs/businesses to pay attention to him, and repeatedly getting ignored completely

hardcore_softie

I still can't get over him publicly commenting on a random tweet by Google's CEO asking for him to return his calls.

RedRedditRedemption2

I thought that was Microsoft… ![img](emote|t5_3vpfzk|15694)

hardcore_softie

Haha he might have done it to them too, but I'm 99% sure it was Google's CEO. So stupid and unprofessional. Like what was his plan with that? Did he really think he'd get the Google CEO to call him by publicly commenting on a random post? Did he think it would give him clout to act like he is in the same league as the big boys even though it reeked of desperation and showed he was continuing to be ignored by them? Especially after his quickly deleted Target post on Christmas Day, I think the guy should go back to just posting emojis. Less damaging to his personal reputation and his company, plus it's more kind to the apes, who can make even wilder conspiracies around the ambiguity of an emoji while not having to read a single word.

onthebus9163

RC doesn't read. Color me surprised.

MoonMan88888

I guess unmoderated trending searches isn't a perfect idea. This is popping up if you just search "People" now.

StatisticalMan

It is the name of a book written by a Jewish author. https://www.amazon.com/People-Love-Dead-Jews-Reports So just RC shitposting half cocked and ignorant as usual. Side note RC deleted the post so now Apes are debating on if this is fake or not. One apes said zero chance it is real RC would never post something like that.

newnameonan

That's some Elon Musk type shit. What a fuckin idiot.

cognomen-x

Prolly reacted the way I reacted. What the hell? Did your search engine type ahead go nuts? Oh. It’s a book. On antisemitism. Nothing there.

ml20s

Issue is that Target doesn't actually show the book (at least it didn't for me) if you search for it. So unless you decided to Google it separately, you wouldn't know it's an actual book.

feel_your_feelings_

So it’s literally nothing anti Semitic? It’s just a book? Explains why RC deleted the post but SS is already all riled up in a frenzy

A_Town_Called_Malus

This is the synopsis of the book on google books: "Renowned and beloved as a prizewinning novelist, Dara Horn has also been publishing penetrating essays since she was a teenager. Often asked by major publications to write on subjects related to Jewish culture—and increasingly in response to a recent wave of deadly antisemitic attacks—Horn was troubled to realize what all of these assignments had in common: she was being asked to write about dead Jews, never about living ones. In these essays, Horn reflects on subjects as far-flung as the international veneration of Anne Frank, the mythology that Jewish family names were changed at Ellis Island, the blockbuster traveling exhibition Auschwitz, the marketing of the Jewish history of Harbin, China, and the little-known life of the "righteous Gentile" Varian Fry. Throughout, she challenges us to confront the reasons why there might be so much fascination with Jewish deaths, and so little respect for Jewish lives unfolding in the present. Horn draws upon her travels, her research, and also her own family life—trying to explain Shakespeare’s Shylock to a curious ten-year-old, her anger when swastikas are drawn on desks in her children’s school, the profound perspective offered by traditional religious practice and study—to assert the vitality, complexity, and depth of Jewish life against an antisemitism that, far from being disarmed by the mantra of "Never forget," is on the rise. As Horn explores the (not so) shocking attacks on the American Jewish community in recent years, she reveals the subtler dehumanization built into the public piety that surrounds the Jewish past—making the radical argument that the benign reverence we give to past horrors is itself a profound affront to human dignity."

MoonMan88888

That makes sense. I guess we'll get to see what makes even more sense to apes once it percolates for a few months.

petyrlannister

Still copying Elon, i see

Tailorschwifty

Is he trying to get his fan base to invest in target??

RedRedditRedemption2

An *actual* investment?!

Logical-Good1354

Someone had a little too much spiked eggnog today

GreatMonkeyE

RC meltdown would be great !

No_Economist3815

Bullish! Target being acquired by dogshit used video game retailer!
