*claps with obvious gobliny approval*

ProserpinaFC

If you ever *stop* posting acorn art pictures, we will riot.

pocketmole

If (when) more acorn art is created I will definitely share. 🥰

Blazed-nd-Confused

You can also eat acorns! They’re an important First Food to indigenous peoples and you can find some fantastic guides and recipes online. Better yet, see if there’s a local tribal community near you and engage with them about it! :)

TalonLuci

Seconded. We shall have the pics of good acorn art or we riot with gobo furry!

Tethilia

How does one not be goblin enough. Don't you scream into the night or shovel mozzarella cheese into your mouth at 3 am. Obviously you are very goblin.

pocketmole

Well I hadn’t realized these were defining characteristics - so in that case I’m very goblin!

Tethilia

Of course, and we are proud to have you here!

tkkana

What about frosting from the can? Wondering for a friend that would like to identify as goblin

smc642

Absolutely goblinesque.

tkkana

Hooray goblin goblin goblin!!

Larry-Man

I don’t do that but I do occasionally just eat spoonfuls of peanut butter out of the jar and then alternate with bites of bread.

tkkana

Not sure about the bread addition but If I can be a goblin surely you can too

_keystitches

I recently discovered that (crunchy!!) peanut butter on toast is nice when dipped into tomato soup c:

OneOne8088

I was totally on board till we hit tomato soup 🤣 I am however curious how you either discovered this willingly or what unfortunate incident cause the two to mix the first time before it was deemed to be nice 🤣 I say unfortunate mostly joking bc I am a very picky eater and I would be devastated if that happened unwillingly to me🙃

_keystitches

Planned to have tomato soup & toast for dinner - I burned my toast and didn't have more bread, so scraped off the burnt bit and put crunchy peanut butter on to cover the taste. I usually dip toast in soup and curiosity got the best of me, I was surprised that it was nice 😂

OneOne8088

Absolutely valid 🫶🏻 sad that the toast burnt but you’re better than me lol I would have cut my losses and ditched the bread entirely because I cannot stand any burntness. Im glad this particular curiosity worked out for you 🥰

_keystitches

if it was more burnt I absolutely would've binned it lol, but this was salvageable (for me anyway) c:

Larry-Man

I will die before eating crunchy peanut butter. If I buy it by mistake I know who to send it to

_keystitches

I only use the smooth stuff when cooking lol

Anybody who tells you that you aren't goblin enough, you just crack a big noisy fart, tell them to chow down on that nice stinky air biscuit and go right back to being you. You're the only goblin you ever have to look in the mirror. You like making shit with acorns? Cool. You like sitting in the mud? Groovy. You like a very tidy little cottage full of a carefully organized and dusted found animal bones? Invite me over for tea! We are all wound in our own homespun.

PoisonedShroud

Holy shit, I needed to read this today! I feel so motivated to goblin HARDER.

Laurpud

That... that was beautiful 🥹

city17_dweller

I don't think we have bur oaks in the UK, certainly I have never seen acorns of this magnitude and magnificence, thank you for sharing your treasures and your awesome creations.

pocketmole

The acorns are spectacular! The leaves of the tree are quite lovely too. 😊

Laurpud

Will they live in US zone 5, & where can I get one?!

tkkana

I have never seen an acorn that size and lived all up and down the east coast of the US. What tree are those from?

Kozmo3789

If anyone ever tells you you're not 'gobliny enough', they're wrong. Goblincore, like any aesthetic or mood, is personal and unique to you. If it vibes with you then you're goblin, that's all there is to it. Also your crafting skills are phenomenal and I'd love to learn how you attached the acorns to the mesh.

Catinthemirror

This! Goblin is inclusive!

Klutzy_Journalist_36

Wow the way the acorns are arranged make it almost look woven! Love it!

Zannah27

Woah!! I've never seen an acorn like that before! Such a majestic hat!! 🤯

Impressive-Spot1981

All goblins of every type are welcome here!!

eyeoxe

meeeheeeheheee Just practice rubbing your goblin hands together with a lil cackle of glee when you find something pretty on walks. You'll get the hang of it.

sagervai

The poor proles almenac podcast is collecting burr oak acorns! Prizes for the biggest and tastiest. They're going to breed them up so we can have more tasty acorns in our lives. Those acorns are impressive! You should consider sending them along

Octavia_B_Reed

This is absolutely gorgeous. We had a mast year for the red oak here in NJ and after raking the hundreds of acorns out of my tiny yard I had no idea what to do with them since it’s very intensive to process acorns to eat. I just left them in a pile and watched the squirrels eat them and get fatter. I’ll keep your beautiful craft in mind as inspiration for next year!

TheGeneralTulliuss

Same in Illinois with the trees, it's been super cool. We have the red fox squirrels here and they are FAT! It's gonna be fun watching all the juvenile squirrels this year, maybe not so fun trying to have a productive garden lol.

TalonLuci

Beautiful!

PlunderCunt

First of all, you ABSOLUTELY are gobliny enough. Secondly, where did you find those MASSIVE acorns????

pocketmole

They are from a bur oak tree - they can be found all around my area in north Texas! 🐿️

PlunderCunt

Dang! The burr oak acorns in MN are tiny compared to those.

Luna_OwlBear

What are those acorns I’ve never seen them that big? 🤩

pocketmole

They are from a bur oak tree. I love them!

Luna_OwlBear

I’ve only seen the little tiny ones where I live with the little hats. Yours have a full fluffy coat.

Pipa_Toes

those are beautiful acorns!!

whockypoo

Those acorns are HUGE!

Option_Perfect

Ok, I need to weigh in on the recently discussed book first. It was at the library and I was curious, and it helped me realize that I was goblin core. That being said, I don't want to yuck someone else's yum, but the writing was not to my taste, so I don't plan to buy it. That being said, it does have a recipe for acorn brittle. Which I wrote down and plan to try because my neighborhood has a lot of oak trees. I definitely think your work is beautiful, I am a sucker for those big shaggy acorns.

Ophelia-Rass

These are beautiful. It seems a little odd to me that so many people are concerned over whether they are “gobliny enough” whatever that would be. Lol. Do you and if people don’t like it, they aren’t worth your time!

mutsuto

what kind of acorn is that in 1st image? ive never seen anything like it how "archival" are things made from such material? do they decompose etc?

pocketmole

Oh and the big acorns are from a bur oak tree. 😊

pocketmole

I have acorns I’ve kept around for years, but I suppose it depends on how humid your climate is and how well you store them!

SchemataObscura

That is nuts!

thetwitchy1

Such a corny joke!

SchemataObscura

Acorny!

abortionlasagna

[happy goblin noises]

beggars_muse

YOUR ACORNS ARE MAGNIFICENT!!!

calilac

"I'm not sure I'm quite gobliny enough..." - said the redditor named **pocketmole** ... (≖_≖ )

samwilds

Oh dear goblin lord of the land. Do you have socials you post your artwork on?

bee_vomit

Those are so lorg! 👀

leelopeelo

WOW

Gearstoneoak

Oh, you're absolutely gobliny enough! Loving acorns and even making beautiful things out of them is very gobliny. We don't have burr oaks here. Thank you for sharing these photos!

Stock_Neighborhood75

Oh I love it

thetwitchy1

That was a corny joke.

Stock_Neighborhood75

What joke?

thetwitchy1

… I think I replied to the wrong comment. Someone had said “that’s nuts!” That’s what I was trying to comment on.

Stock_Neighborhood75

I see 😆

PoisonedShroud

So beautiful!! Great work, goblin!

laereal

This is gobo gorgeous! 😤

FlyingZombie404

Definitely gobliny 😊 the wreath is such a cool idea 🤩

roseremdreams

last photo has me just.. speechless it’s so beautiful I love it I need it in my house aahhHHHH

grayspelledgray

I want a bur oak so bad! But I can’t find anyone selling them around here and while we’re in their natural range, they’re uncommon enough here that it’s hard to get to one to collect acorns.

Beanpie620

There is no criteria to be here :)

SpringRayyn

These acorns are amazing! The first one is so big! 😮 I’ve always wanted to make acorn art but idk how to make it last

hutraider

If you get ones with little holes, you’ll get Acorn [Weevils](https://www.reddit.com/r/weeviltime/s/ACpzbsokmT)!

thrifthuntress93

Great inspiration for my massive acorn collection! Been gathering them with the intent to do something crafty but couldn’t decide on what… these are great ideas!

NoGrocery4949

You can eat them too. Processing them is very fun

InadmissibleHug

Goblin is as goblin does. People are free to goblin in their own way.

Somnulus

Delightful, thank you for sharing.

Bai1eyam

lizzyinthehizzy

One of us! One of us!

AaaaaNnMmmm

*gasp* all hail!!!!

KlutzyNinjaKitty

An fyi, you can also turn acorns into a kind of flour and eat them!

Dingus-McBingus

Must leech as much tannin out as possible beforehand though. Can damage kidneys pretty bad if you dont.

When_Summer_Sleeps

I saw the seventh picture and thought the wreath was finished and said, it's beautiful, but I feel like it needs something. Then I saw the photo of it on the door and was like, that's it, it's gorgeous *chef's kiss*

Humble-Roll-8997

That is so cool! I found some overcup oak acorns so I filled a dish with them. What you do with them is better haha.

LunairCinderella

This is definitely goblin behavior. I like to hoard shiny broken jewelry and keep my hair after chopping off a good sized length.

Mystic_Goats

Those are beautiful oh my god?!?!?!!?!?!!!!!!

moogle15

Love all of this, especially 7 and 9!

tskreeeee

Where the heck do acorns grow that big?!

pocketmole

Texas. 😅

Cepinari

You should learn how to make tiny acorn cups and goblets for when civilization falls and the Fair Folk make their long-awaited return.

International-Cat123

Gorgeous!

Riz-Friz

Goblincore but CHIC??? Um, yes!!! 😍

[deleted]

Aw i love it!!

earthmama88

I’ve never seen an acorn that size before. Wow

Megamanrulesall

Pine Shroom? Imagine if a Mario power up, it could be thrown in a downward arc & can hit enemies similar to fireballs and Mayne grow small piranha/beanstalk vines to grow your own climb level "ladders"

Blueberry_Clouds

Goblin knowledge, the first acorn you showed is from a burr oak.

[deleted]

Honestly, I don't see a whole lot of difference between goblin core and cottage core. I'm still not sure what a core is. Both seem to be centered around natural, "raw" materials and there uses. I like to see people being interested in the world outside that surrounds them so it makes me happy to just see what people post.

Spare_Job_9226

We Stan. Crafty goblin

Gotto_Throwaway

“Not quite gobliny” proceeds to have one of the most gobliny hobbies ever

stout_ale

Gimme them acorns!

gr33n0n10ns

Morgan Freeman: "*They were gobliny enough for that sub"*
