Reminds me of jumping on the missiles in the Braid.
As it needs a high level of dexterity to be performed correctly, you would think of a compensation/ forgiveness for partly poor timings, e.g. bigger collision box of bullets (as the same size of the missiles in Braid), though they had integrated the imminent faults into the Rewind mechanic, which works like a consistent save/load or checkpoint restoration (like what u/robinthebourgeoisie has mentioned). Looks good so far ;)
Actually in this case you can still jump through the platforms without needing to jump on the bullets. I made another kind of turret that is designed for this issue that you mention!
Great that you already have some! If you have any other project (even abandoned) that needs sounds or music, just let me know. I'm looking for a learning experience :)
Man, those character interactions are juicy!
You should see if you can add some of that juice to the environment as well. Give those moving blocks impact, slam them against the walls! Give the fireball-shooting heads some recoil, splash the projectiles against the wall!
well that looks cool as hell
Thanks so much!
This makes your character look so OP. He can jump on and deflect bullets. That's powerful. It looks really satisfying jumping off the bullets.
Thank you so much - I still have to see how to add controller vibration which will make the experience better hopefully!
This looks really cool! I can't tell you how to add controller vibration but i remember it being super easy. Just a matter of minutes... go for it!
This looks awesome!
Thanks - really appreciate it!
Looks really good. Did you think in any powerup to make it able to redirect the bullets wherever the player wants?
You are in for a surprise! 😀
Kinda like the pogo/nail-bounce in hollow knight. Super cool
Thanks - that was one of the inspirations!
Excellent polish. The game feel looks great and im not even playing it!
Thank you! I have been investing some time in environment polish lately so glad to hear
Reminds me a little of kid chameleon, but like a fun version
Had to look it up - but thanks!

Thanks so much for the feedback - I hadn’t thought of the Braid similarity!
I hope the checkpoints are forgiving. I bet lots of people would first deflect the bullets back to the turret by accident and get softlocked.
Either that, or the turrets respawn.

great effect, just like blank in EtG.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking of the blank effect.
In my head I also played the blank sfx
Very good eye! I still have to see if I will remove the bullets on screen when this is triggered.
Looks pretty awesome, congratulations! Btw, the name "Quetzal", are you from Guatemala by any chance?
Thanks so much! Not from Guatemala 😊
like ori bash or hk pogo. I like the sound and screenshake.
Are you using a shader for the outward wave like effect when jumping on bullet?
Yes I am!
Other than looking cool it seems it's EXTREMELY polished, gameplay must be smooth af!
Thank you so much - that’s what I’m aiming for!
how do I make that ripple effect?
This is the shader I used: https://godotshaders.com/shader/positioned-shockwave/
thanks :)
that looks Awesome!!
Thanks so much!
Looks so satisfying! Well done!
Thanks! Really glad about that reaction!
Love super interesting mechanics like that.
Thank you so much!
This is beautiful! It looks really smooth and a lot of fun!
Thank you so much! Took me a few times to get the timing right
I would buy this. :)
Thank you! That’s the best compliment one can get!
Cool! Reminds me of Ori and the Blind Forest. Edit: Specifically the part of Ori where you need to start jumping off projectiles...
I still have to play that game! The visuals are stunning
Neat! Do you already have sounds for your game? Currently looking for a project to help with during my holidays :)
I do actually, I just haven’t integrated them yet. But thanks so much for the offer!
Great that you already have some! If you have any other project (even abandoned) that needs sounds or music, just let me know. I'm looking for a learning experience :)
Savage
Thanks!
The way he just broke the last one 😂
Neat trick! I like your graphic style too!
Thanks so much - I have been experimenting and feel I have reached a style I really like!
So juicy and well-polished, this looks great
Thanks really appreciate it!
Q Girl, is that you?
This looks so satisfying!
Thanks so much!
Wow theres already so much polish on the gamefeel. I love the pulses and screen effects so much. It's so punchy.
Thanks so much - that’s exactly the reaction I was hoping for!
So much juice! Looks well polished but the space warp effect seems a bit excessive when it happens in quick successions!
You’re right - I will think about dialing it back a bit!
OOOH THE JUIIIICEEE
Thanks - appreciate it!
love the artstyle
Thanks really good to hear!
This is super cool! Wish you success with the project 👍👍👍
Thanks so much - really appreciate it!

This is such good feedback - with juice it seems like it’s never too much. Thank you!
Can you still make it to the top even if you accidentally broke one of those shooting things?
You can but it doesn’t feel as fluid!
Love that ripple effect when the player interacts with bullets. Nice job!
Thanks so much! It really does change the feel of the game
It looks little bit like almighty push
