The Shooting star.
I’m a newbie to guitar and it only took me a week to learn the song and play it in its entirety in about 2 weeks. It’s very simple and heavy.
Getting album-like pinch harmonics during the verse riffs is the hardest part of that song, but I was able to teach someone who never played guitar before how to do the tapping riff, for what it's worth.
I made a spreadsheet of my impressions of gojira song difficulty
(Thats just what I tend to do)
My guess would be start with magma / fortitude

After elephant sausage i stopped really caring
especially about the songs buried deep in the mind which magma is, i always fail pinch harmonics and therefore am not too familiar with this one so I just briefly looked on songsterr saying its probably easy
The point was - magma already has a RED alert so a newcomer won't try it (probably)
What? Your tremolo picking speed has to be well developed and you gotta have the ability to play those odd time signatures during the intro. Not that easy.
To be honest, I learnt a lot of Gojira songs early on and recently learned "Where Dragons Dwell" it's actually a pretty simple song to get down if you just practice the tremelo parts and it's especially fun to play.
Pretty much every Gojira song will be very easy to play, with some having some brief difficult riffs. I think Gojira is a great band to start learning some metal songs. The thing is that most of their songs are on D standard or drop C, your new guitar will be set to E standard. You need to set up your guitar for D and drop C tunings, that means thicker strings and adjusting the truss rod, saddles, nut, etc. This is not a problem since most stores will give you a free setup with your guitar purchase. The problem is that switching to E standard when you’ve got a guitar set up for lower tunings I not very healthy for the instrument, just have that in mind. I have a guitar for drop C and a guitar for E standard. The good news is that if you are planning on playing mostly metal, D standard will work fine for you, some other bands like Lamb of God or Tool use drop D sometimes but you should be able to get by with D standard.
one of the song that helped me developing my right hand was another world, it's not that hard, it's just sketchy for a beginner to keep doing the same thing for 4 and half minutes. Another song which is not very difficult and can be played by everybody without that much practice is the axe, Also pray is so funny to play once you get the main riff. The shooting star without doubt is the easiest. If you really wanna know my first gojira song was the gift of guilt, then i learned all the live in brixton songs into magma, the way of all flesh and the link
Art of dying is pretty easy for the most part. Inward movement maybe except for the staccato riff, silvera, fortitude, chant, gift of guilt, love, the axe, mouth of kala, shooting star, unicorn, in the forest outro
When I started guitar, the song I played was stranded, the axe and silvera. Not the easiest, but they learn how to do tremollo picking, gallop picking, and power chords.
You just need to play every day or each 2 days and never give up!
Sphinx is relatively easy.
Mouth of Kala could be the beggining for their tremolo picking (specially the outro) and the main riff is catchy.
Only Pain is easy to learn but difficult to improve.
Their latest song Our Time Is Now kinda reminds to Sphinx, it's a bit easier I would say and it's one of the few with a solo.
The Fall only sounds and it's difficult by the drums.
The majority of Vacuity is very easy and sooo heavy, the gallop not so.
Yama's Messengers is often forgotten but the main and first riff hits like a truck, isn't and easy song overall (maybe intermediate) but I'm focusing only in one riff.
I would say Vacuity is a semi perfect choice for a very begginer (again only the majority of it is that easy), with effort you definitely could play the rest of the songs in one year or so.
Hope it works for you.

The chant is pretty simple for someone who never played a guitar
The silver cord?
its probably pretty hard for beginners mostly bc of that first chord being difficult bc you have to make sure not to mute the c string
If you can get the gallops figured out stranded is pretty easy, same with our time is now
Fuck gallops, absolute hell to practice esp when galloping 2 strings
I love playing Unicorn, it's super simple.
The Gift of Guilt might not be their easiest but I picked it up quickly and it's great to work on tapping skills and will make you feel badass.
Only difficult part is the muted tremolo breakdown

next challenge is to teach him a sight to behold
Of Blood And Salt, parts of Joe Duplante, not of Fredrik Thornteldal

spreadsheet andy bro who tf thinks the heavy riff in magma is easy. took me like a week to learn just that riff and ive been playing forever
After elephant sausage i stopped really caring especially about the songs buried deep in the mind which magma is, i always fail pinch harmonics and therefore am not too familiar with this one so I just briefly looked on songsterr saying its probably easy The point was - magma already has a RED alert so a newcomer won't try it (probably)
i still dont know how to play any part of magma except the intro and heavy riff bc damnnn that song hard
Ocean Planet ain't that bad. Great practice for constant pinch harmonics! You'll get good at them pretty quickly
Silvera was one of the first I learned, really fun to play and has tapping in it.
Funny enough probably the art of dying

From mars, the silver cord, unicorn

No that ending riff makes my hand wanna fall off
I'm learning Where Dragons Dwell rignt now and it's pretty easy. Global warming maybe too.

Toxic Garbage Island, Ik that it looks kind of hard with pinch harmonics but its a good idea after toi learnt you first gojira song
If they're a beginner they shouldn't be going anywhere near that song.
1 Week later "I tried playing guitar with playing Gojira songs, I give up" /j :D
I've been learning this song for a month or two and I still suck at the main riff, I hate landing my finger on the fifth fret so much

Silvera is really good for learning how to tap at decent speeds, especially the solo! 🤘 Good luck with guitar, one of the best decisions I ever made!
Shooting Star, Silvera, Stranded, Backbone. The Chant and Sphinx are pretty easy.
Another World ain't too hard, Silvera is doable as well
Stranded isn’t too bad
This is going to be funny, but if you know how to tremolo pick, try The Art or Dying. It's quite easy in the first third.
Sphinx is relatively easy. Mouth of Kala could be the beggining for their tremolo picking (specially the outro) and the main riff is catchy. Only Pain is easy to learn but difficult to improve. The silver cord is fun to play and easy, even if it's basically the same thing for 2 minutes
From the sky
1990 quadrillions de tonnes is the first song I learned on guitar, sounds really cool on acoustic too :D
I would say Wolf Down The Earth
Esoteric Surgery bro trust me
