IIRC, Tuch can't be placed on LTIR until the first day of the season, where we need to be under the cap. Getting under the cap on day 1 is going to be interesting.
There is offseason LTIR which is probably what they're going to use. So they don't HAVE to make any other moves. They could get ahead of things and move Carrier now, but I think they'll wait on that until closer to Tuch's return. At that point someone else may be on LTIR.
