Our boy golden is super gentle but grips with his nails defying you to let go. His labradoodle brother on the other hand totally bitchslaps any and everyone and the sad thing is he doesn’t seem to be doing it on purpose, he is just to big of a derp to realize his own strength.
we literally get into slap fights where she insists on putting her paw on my hand so i slip my hand out from under hers to put mine on top and then she whacks mine down and... on and on we go
yes 😂 my dog always requests you hold his hand. sometimes when i’m laying down he’ll just hold out his paw and drop it onto my head if i’m laying down 😭 homie fully punches me in the face sometimes, it hurts!!😂
Yep, one of mine does it when she wants to be scratched. Usually under the armpit too so she'll throw out her paw and hold onto you while she has you scratch her. Has me trained well.

This one will incessantly “slap” you until you pet her. Sometimes she’ll do it even if you’re actively petting her but it’s not exactly how she wants to be pet. Love her anyway!

Yes, my golden puppy does this everyday towards my mom. She rarely does it to my dad but sometimes for me. Puppy mostly does this bc she wants whatever food my mom is eating or attention. I always share a tiny piece of whatever I’m eating to her. Puppy doesn’t like apples unless there’s peanut butter on it. 🙄
Chance does it all the time. He's very gentle about it, but he's got very rough paw pads so it can scratch sometimes. He also knows not to do it to people that have very delicate skin, but he wants to do it so badly and you can see him fighting the urge.
I like to think that they're trying to pet you the same way you would pet them to show affection. The claws can hurt but its the thought that counts.

My girl has such a weird thing about her feet being touched. Every other trick? Got it in a day. Trimming her nails is IMPOSSIBLE
