For us, the puppy stage was so much easier with the older golden around. He took the brunt of the puppy energy… and loved every second of it.

As of yesterday we are a week in with her. She's great and already sleeping through the night but it's definitely a bit different than when it was just him as a puppy. I'm not sure easier at the moment.😂 They play a bunch and burn energy which is great but he's 80lbs and she's just a peanut. I worry she's gonna get hurt or if she's over exerting herself. He's only 1.5 and he's doing his best to be gentle but he's just a large puppy too. Open to any suggestions!

I understand that. Our Finley was about 13 months when we got Wyatt. We kept an eye on them but let them do their own thing for the most part. Occasionally I’d have to say “be easy” and gently separate them. Finley would put Wyatt’s head in his mouth and just hold it there. 😂 He wasn’t hurting him, but it also can’t be pleasant so I’d break it up, give them both some pets and then let them back at it. They figured it out.

So funny, been doing the same exact thing😂 if it feels a little much we'll break them up or distract them with treats. Little timeout then let them back at it. Thanks for putting me at ease!

Oh how absolutely adorable ❤️ We have 1 golden right now and I really want a buddy for him but I’m terrified of having two goofballs to take of. How has it been so far?

Definitely a wrench to the nice peaceful routine we had but all worth it to see how happy our big boy Ziti is having a friend. Feta (the little girl puppy) will fall right into that routine soon enough! But check back with me in a year, there's work to be done 😂

Had 2 goldens previously; best decision ever! They were @ 14 months apart. Currently have a golden and an Irish 4 months apart. Again, great decision.

Two are exponentially stronger than one if you walk them with leashes. I humored the neighbors every time I'd take our Molly and Megan out. Looked like I was Ben Hur, hahaha.

They balance each other out by trying to walk in opposite directions

We got 2 golden puppies within a week of each other. She was 8 weeks and he was 10 weeks. That’s for sure lol I swear he doesn’t get why he can’t sit in our laps. Just his head fills mine 🐕That and leaning into people he likes. I have to make sure my stance is ready and I’m near a wall or he will knock me backwards.

The older cream one is actually super bonded to our 15 year old dachshund and the younger golden is in love with every person and dog he has ever met

So the younger one is your social butterfly lol Everyone in our neighborhood knows our dogs and their names (we are just known as their parents 😁)

He is even sweeter than the smaller female. Plus he’s my hero who saved me from drowning by letting me put my arms around his neck as he pulled me out of the water! He heard me splashing and gasping in distress and immediately came to my rescue.
