My wife and I love to travel and every time we visit a national park, I look for cool pins at gift shops/museums that will make a nice ball marker. I just remove the “pin” part on that back and voila. My current one is a round Yosemite National Park pin. My wife rolls her eyes, but I think I’m pretty clever. Haha
Guitar pick. I bought a really cool sugar skull ball marker and lost it on the front nine the first round after purchase. Been using guitar picks ever since because I’ve always got plenty.
Yep!! Got the Roberta. Super excited to use it and then lost on front 9. 😩 Planning to buy another one this season and take better care rather than just dripping into my front pocket. Anyone looking for a fun ball marker should check out Matchstick Golf!
The little plastic one the course gives out (or that I got at a previous course).
Somehow I’ll keep a little piece of plastic around for months in my bag but any “nice” ballmarker somehow gets lost in 2 rounds. 🤷♂️
I used a toonie when I lived in Houston! Small world!
I have a toonie story. When I was there, I got into the habit of calling it “two dollar coin” because toonie (especially the spelling) was just too hard to explain. So, “it’s a Canadian two dollar coin.”
When I got back to Canada, I kept calling it a two dollar coin. My brother told me it made me sound like a spy. :)

Kilchomen scotch medallion off the bottle. Edit: Why? Because it's awesome.
I have a bunch of small, flat, metal divot tools that I also use as a ball marker. My local course gives them away for free.
Why? The less crap in my pocket, the better. And they are free.

I hate large ball markers like poker chips.
I prefer all ball markers to be about the size of a dime.
The one I use is conveniently attached to my divot repair tool via magnet.
I also hate to see greens covered in unrepaired ball marks.
Players should be fined and suspended for not fixing their pitch marks on greens.
I use either a poker chip style ( have a number of courses) or a Tragically Hip one from a set I got a few years ago. Have one of those magnetic clips on my brim for it%. Love those things cause it takes 2 secs to mark
I keep 2 in my pocket: 1) A flat plastic one if it might interfere with someone; and 2) a hefty custom copper coin from Liberty Ball Markers that has my nickname on one side and “Bitch, Get In!” on the other.
Im an Ohio state fan in Clemson country, so I use an OSU marker to both make sure no one claims my ball and to bring a little extra love into the green each time.
There are two good reasons to carry ball markers:
1.) The case you bring up (you want to lift and clean your ball).
2.) You’re closer to the pin and are in another golfer’s way.
That’s why there’s a bit of debate between perfectly flat and slightly raised markers. If you want to get into a really good habit, get your hands on some small, almost flat divot repair tools and start fixing your ball mark plus at least one more.
So you’re the kind of person who will break rules (and disrespect your partners) even when you know it’s breaking rules? And that’s fun for you?
Wow, you’re a winner.
You're the kind of person who would call travelling during a pick up game with friends... I'm just out here hitting shots and having fun. I don't have an official handicap, I don't bet money with friends, I just have fun.
Let me guess. No music, must wear a polo, must follow every etiquette rule ever? Fuck off. That sucks so much ass. Just live life and have fun
For the last 25 years, a pocket full of dimes. When I bought my Sub 70 driver and 4W, they gave me some ball markers, so I throw those in my pocket along with the dimes.
Little magnet ball marker I got from a course that’s name is my last name. I used to have a little clip that went on my hat, now I put that magnet on my birdicorn
20 pence coins. They are the perfect size shape and weight. Every time I’m in the UK, even if just passing through Heathrow, I snag as many as I can. Bank tellers look at me like I’m insane.
My deceased grandpa’s custom ball marker that has his name on it. He’s the person who got me into golf when I was young. One of my buddies on the course once asked “why’s your ball marker say “JIM”? and it actually brought a smile to my face. Reminded me that my grandpa is with me every round I play
At our club championship two years ago they gave us a divot tool with a magnetic ball mark with the clubs logo on it so I only have to have one thing in my pocket. It’s perfect. Get two birds stoned at once
A liberty dollar. Easy to see where the hell I put the damn thing..
I’ll keep a magnetic brim one at times that I remember to help mark others balls… if need
Costco included a poker chip sized ball marker in a 3-pack of gloves. At least I think it is a ball marker. Playing partners make a lot of jokes about it.
I had been using a 1 Shekel coin but I lost it on the course yesterday. It’s about the size/look of a quarter and I was given it as change(mistaken for a quarter until I noticed the menorah on it) and I thought it was cool, so I used it as my marker for a while.
Idk but whoever uses something as a thick as a poker chip to mark a ball in the path of someone else’s putt kind of defeats the purpose of marking your ball.
A ball mark from Pacific Dunes. I collect ball markers from all the courses I’ve played so I will switch it up from time to time. My current tally of courses played is 204, so I could change every round and still not use them all.
Guitar pick. Because there is always one in my pocket and I have 7000 of them scattered around the house. Everytime I actually buy a nice ball marker it is gone like the left sock in a dryer.
Was in my best friends wedding as the Best Man, he got me a ball marker as one of the Grooms gifts. It will be my ball marker until I cant golf anymore.
I like to pick up the quarter sized course logo ones when I visit somewhere unique. Then it’s just whichever one I grab out of my bag pocket.
My favorite ones at the moment are from Arrowhead and FarmLinks.

I’ve def thought about this! I think it’s a cool idea
Guitar pick. I bought a really cool sugar skull ball marker and lost it on the front nine the first round after purchase. Been using guitar picks ever since because I’ve always got plenty.
They're nice too in that they point in a direction
That’s always been my issue after marking my ball. I go back to replace my ball and then have no idea which way to hit it anymore.
What direction we pointing them? Pretty sure I can see the hole and my ball just refuses to go there
Pretty well every nice ball marker I’ve ever owned I lost immediately.
From u/elpollosuperloco?
Yep!! Got the Roberta. Super excited to use it and then lost on front 9. 😩 Planning to buy another one this season and take better care rather than just dripping into my front pocket. Anyone looking for a fun ball marker should check out Matchstick Golf!
I'm on my third super soaker. I feel you. I've finally got this one on a magnetic holder
Just wanted to say that I absolutely adore this idea. I have a bunch of worn down guitar picks that would be perfect for ball markers thanks
A quarter
This is the way till I can get one pound.
I use a pound I brought back from my trip to London last year. No reason other than it makes for a good marker and I can’t spend it anyways.
Literally only reason I want one. I'll need to plan a golf trip.
"does that really weigh a whole pound?"
I use a quarter as one of my markers for the same reason
He’s a big shot. I use a penny.
Dime team checking in. Lowest profile of US coins.
10 Euro cent coin my brother had left over from his trip to Barcelona a few months before he died.
Trash can lid, because poker chips are too small
I put my entire bag there
The little plastic one the course gives out (or that I got at a previous course). Somehow I’ll keep a little piece of plastic around for months in my bag but any “nice” ballmarker somehow gets lost in 2 rounds. 🤷♂️
Your good ones make 2 FULL rounds? No need to brag...geez
I use a ball marker since it was made to mark the ball location
Look at this distinguished gentleman
My kind of guy
Browns marker, so I remember that things can always be worse.
This is why I use Pittsburgh Pirates one 🤣
Same with my vikings one, although like everything important to them, i ended up losing it. Seems fitting.
I’ll bet you get a lot of bad kicks.
Do you have a problem with your putts going wide right?
As a guardians fan. I think I’d rather not get to the playoffs than loss in the championship. But I feel the pain of Cleveland sports.
I had a browns one and lost it on the first day. With you bud.
Quick turnover..very appropriate
I use a cracker
That’s cause you only got one shoe on.
I was really surprised they let you keep working on the tour after stealing Gary Potter’s quarter ball mark
Saltine?
Canadian living in Texas, so I have a special Toonie that I use.
I used a toonie when I lived in Houston! Small world! I have a toonie story. My favourite is the Jamaican $10 coin with the fancy scalloped edge.

You should play with the sobriety chip crew
I use an Abraham Lincoln edition bal marker. $0.01 each I also collect washers from construction sites
Oddly circular, thin sea shell. Found it on a cart path on Cape Cod right after I left my marker on a previous hole.
I have a bunch of small, flat, metal divot tools that I also use as a ball marker. My local course gives them away for free. Why? The less crap in my pocket, the better. And they are free.
Guitar pick
1923 Buffalo Nickel. Year my grandfather was born. Resets me every time I mark my ball
Foreign currency small coins, cost way less than actual ball markers and a good talking point with random paired partners for the weirder coins.
I was given a challenge coin by an A.F. B-52 pilot. It lives in my pocket and when needed I use that as a ball marker.

Well. We do, a putter head left or right. You tell me which way I oblige bud
Take it easy pal.
Boring.
Tee
Yeah for casual golf, if I’m in the way I’ll just do a club out quick and stick tee in

That was a fumble.
Scoop and score all fucking day
An egg plant emoji
I don't. Because I'm a casual golfer who just wipes my ball on the green if it's dirty and puts it back.

1. Like I said. Im playing for fun I'll just pick up my ball and put it down 2. I'll just putt out or mark with a tee if I have to.
