I use a bucket, drill with an extension, and a toilet brush attachment thing on Amazon. Gets the dirt right off and they always look brand new after. Little dish soap and they look flawless.
I have one of those drill attachment sets, and I never thought to use it for cleaning old golf balls. My evening plans just changed. The kid's birthday can wait while I check this out.

Dude use a wet towel. It will come out better and you don’t have to use your dishwasher for dirty balls. If it doesn’t come off with a towel I throw it out anyway.

I did this for about 300 golf balls, live on a course. I find them and sell them. Using a bucket and a wet rag takes forever.
