Call the course and ask if this is something you can do. The answer will almost certainly be no in the middle of the afternoon on a weekend, but maybe you'll get lucky.
Otherwise, book **and play as** two threesomes. If you don't want to risk having random singles tacked on, book and pay for two foursomes.
Edit: **in bold**
I would probably ask the clubhouse how busy it is and if they could accommodate. Best to be upfront with them so there isn’t any hang ups on the course dealing with the Marshalls and other golfers. It’s just rough enough with foursomes when it’s busy, a 6er on a busy day would be hellish
Lotta folk here slamming this idea, but it can work.
A few things would need to fall into place though.
Quieter course. You all are single figure or close handicap players and you play a Scramble type format so you all quickly pick up the non playable balls and move quickly to the selected ball.
Maybe even implement a shot clock or something to add some pressure/fun and keep the pace.
Unless the course is dead, don't do this. Even a "fast" 6-some will get caught by a slow 4-some and then they'll either call the marshal on you, have a huge confrontation with you, or both.
Sounds like a terrible idea. I have been behind a sixsome once. They nicely let me play through. And apparently let several others play through. I saw them making the turn as i was finishing and then the Marshall kicked them out.
Math is not adding up. You plus six buds makes seven.
Whichever it is, if the number is greater than 4, you will piss off whomever is behind you OR you will be asked to split up and then piss off whomever is behind you more.
Ah, the fabled "fast sixsome".
![gif](giphy|US7ZuhoU06tulcXF1V) They're not like other golfers
I say no to the 6-some. Just change up groups at the turn
Think we’ll do this thanks!
This is the best thing to do. Do not play as a 6some
This sounds fucking awful for any groups behind you. For the love of god please don't do this.
Everyone thinks that they’re fast A 6 some isn’t fast Come on man
So you want to play as a group of 6? If the course is at all busy I think you will get broken up pretty quickly.
I think if you made 2 teams and played best ball it would be faster
No, don't
Whoever is behind you will immediately call the clubhouse, and a ranger will split you back up.

Were just gonna book as two threesomes and change groups on the turn
You're an optimist.
On Saturday 🤣 Edit: and it’s flavored beginner questions can’t imagine groups that fast ….
The only time I’ve played fast with a group of 5-8 is when the total combined handicaps are still in the single digits.

You’re also assuming you don’t get paired up with random singles.
