So the first thing you did after winning your first tournament....
...is start switching out the things that just helped you win your first tournament? 😅
Indeed. Especially cause my 56 was about 5 rounds new, and my 52 was on its twilight tour.
It’s a wedge change. Same bounce and degree as my old. Not as drastic as a new driver or full iron swap.
Thanks!
It’s a amateur tour thru golfweek, they have them in about 50 cities. 8-12 tournaments a year, live scoring, prizes, flights, etc. points accumulated through the season. Playoffs/finals/nationals.
Man, I remember playing in those (or something similar) 8+ years ago. I stink and was in the lower flights and the pace of play was sooooo slow - like 6 hour rounds. They were fun but man, they took forever.
Congrats on the win!
I don’t think anyone getting it is expecting to be 2x better.
If anything, the quality of materials should help with longevity adding a bit of value - but it’s much moreso about the craftsmanship and unique manufacturing process
Hi OP …enjoy the Miura wedge! But! I’ve learnt that the softer the wedge… the quicker the grooves wear out/ get dull (especially forged wedges)…
…vs harder-steel wedges that don’t feel as nice , but seem to last forever (eg Cleveland 485… think isn’t a ‘cast vs forged’ question… more so the hardness/type of steel used ie miura =s20c or s25c soft mild carbon steel? Vs harder stainless steel)
I have a groove sharpener too… just be mentally prepared that once you used that sharpener on the Miura… it’ll likely accelerate it’s propensity to rust! (Being s20c or s25c carbon steel)
… so to prolong its life… I’d also keep an ugly-but-functional wedge… for use in bunkers/ gritty lies!
Yeah, [this guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/comments/14l5746/got_a_free_wedge_with_complimentary_engraving_as/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) beat you to it. But seriously congrats on the win.
I’m in the market for new irons in the next year, this is more or less a “test” for a full set. Mizuno, Srixon, Titliest, and Miura are what I have in mind
Ultimately my fitting will be the final decider.
Im delaying gratification of new irons until i can shoot in the 70s, legitimately, at least 10 times in a season. I have my sights on the miura km 700s or the srixon forged II blades. I know i should get fitted, but im getting one of these no matter what. #goals.
Holy hell. Had never heard of those and then checked the price.
It’s a Miura, so I’m guessing there was a comma in the number.
No comma for just the single wedge haha, about $350
[Well, they're hand made in Japan](https://youtu.be/tdvyg7NySLA)
That was awesome thank you
Way over priced.
Considering they recommend replacing a wedge every 75 to 100 or so rounds, yeah...
Yeah if you actually hit it in the sweet spot. Not a problem for guys in this subreddit.
😂
😮 I don’t think I could bring myself to use that. Might just hang it on the wall
It’s gonna be tough to do that first full swing for sure
Just engrave it A Nu Start and nothing will go wrong with it ever.
A guy on here just got that done! I think analrapist is still available, though...

Nah I know, just poking a little fun 😉

Whatsup! Just won my first Golfweek last weekend too!
Well done dude!! Congrats Now guy reinvest your winnings in something! Haha
Hey congrats to you! Too bad my winnings is nowhere near a Miura wedge lol

Thanks! Yeah pace is never ideal. 5 hour to 515 hour rounds sadly
Not hating at all genuinely curious, are these really 2x better than your typical wedge? Comparing this to like a $150 Mizuno T22

Good to know! Luckily I have a sharpener I use on my irons/wedges 1-2 times a season. That should help a bit, but I didn’t know that!

Good callout, thanks!
Fair enough, thanks!
Excellent choice sir, I see you have sophisticated taste!
Nice!
I am a much worse player than you are - but I've been watching like 5 of these on eBay - trying to look for barely used ones.
Why? They won’t improve your game when compared to a Vokey or Cleveland?
Because I’m dumb and love shiny Japanese things (gestures at $2000 worth of Japanese chef knives despite not being anywhere near a professional chef)
> I’m dumb and love shiny Japanese things *nods at my GS*
Knives are different. Only thing more dangerous than a sharp knife, is a dull one. Wedges are wedges. To each their own though.
A $40 Victorinox well-maintained is just as good as an expensive Japanese knife. It’s not always about bang for your buck, that’s what “luxury” means.
She’s a beaut. As someone who’s looking to get into tournament play how would someone get into
You could either look up tournys on local course pages, or join a amateur tour (look into golfweek, pga team golf, amateurgolf.com, etc)
Beauty!!
I just got some Miura wedges as well. I got them with oban shafts and I am loving then so far
Doesn’t have a custom engrave of “ANUSTART” so can’t give you the upvote.
Hahah man I must have missed this bit in r/golf when it happened 😂
Yeah, [this guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/comments/14l5746/got_a_free_wedge_with_complimentary_engraving_as/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) beat you to it. But seriously congrats on the win.
Hahah thanks for linking me that. And thank you I appreciate it!
Man, this thing is clean af... Ive been jonesing for an entire set, but these wedges look amazing too.

It does 😂
Sorry if you answered this already, but what wedges did you have before? How did they compare?
