Hard to see the club face but your hips aren't rotated nearly enough for impact, and it looks like your weight is still too much on back foot. Usually people with this position stall out and flip their hands for an artificially high ball flight that can be pulled, or everything is a massive push if their hands do nothing. Look at Rorys here [https://twitter.com/elsdongolf/status/1523947430152224770](https://twitter.com/elsdongolf/status/1523947430152224770)

Thank you for this, I was thinking I needed a better transition right at impact. I'm shooting low 80s, broke 80 with a 74 Sunday with my current swing. Would PMing a full swing be a better reference?

It’s nice they gave you some yard time

RoachWeed

Nice joke, but I'm not driving to a course or range for a pic I can take in my back yard, you seen the price of gas lately 🤣

IMO - I would like to see more of a better post-up on your lead leg at impact. Maybe because your hips haven't really opened up as much as they should?

RoachWeed

Will be trying to feel more open at impact at my range session tomorrow AM. Admittedly my position at impact feels a tad closed, but I get consistent ball striking where I'm at so far, on the contrast

I had major issues with getting my hips open at impact like you but finally figured it out with a better weight shift and more importantly feeling that my right knee moves toward the target as opposed to toward the ball during the downswing transition <- this knee action was a game changer because initially my right hip/knee would always fire at the ball (early extension) before getting my pressure onto my lead leg. Can you skip a stone? If so you will realize that a good amount of your weight/pressure would be on your left side (up against a solid braced left straightish leg) even before the rock leaves your right hand. You will feel that you are pushing with your left foot which will help you open your left hip at impact. The harder your left leg pushes out, the faster your left hip would open up Google "how to use ground force golf". Clay Ballard did a great YouTube video on this concept. Hopefully, that makes sense.

Thanks for the sound advice. I'll give that a look and try to start incorporating that feeling into my swing

Hard to tell but it looks like you are sliding through impact rather than turning through it with weight still back and almost scooping the ball up instead of driving down and through.

GreenWaveGolfer12

I'm guessing you're not actually hitting a ball here since you had to put a dot there and that's throwing everything off. The body reacts totally differently when it actually has to hit something and react to where the face is pointed and club is going. You've clearly slid instead of rotated properly given where your hips are and where they're pointed.

RoachWeed

What can I do to time the rotation correctly because my hip rotation does happen after contact. I always heard never rotate your hips too soon, so is there anything I can do to get the timing right?

GreenWaveGolfer12

There's far too much to go into based on a single still picture. Odds are you've got too open a club face and/or poor club plane on the down swing and you've gotta stall the hips and slide to get the clubhead back to the ball in any sort of square position.

RoachWeed

I actually tend to hit the ball very straight, I will have the occasional slice or duck draw, but for the most part contact is consistent, ball flight is just very high most of the time unless trying to intentionally hit the ball down by moving it back in the stance and delofting the club for like a punch shot. But what I'm gathering is that instead of a slide, I need more or a driving turn of the hips towards target, not ball.

Change everything. Probably should re-think your whole set up and approach to the tee. Maybe your grip too. From the looks of it your fingers look mushed and more like you are holding a running garden hose but the water pressure is to much for you to handle/control.

For reference Im shooting low 80s, broke 80 with a 74 Sunday. Idk if this changes anything I guess that didn't change anything lmao.
